The top down look in the pit and watching the engine get tore apart and put back together is a great shot. Best of luck!
Especially when we knew there was a hole out and that was part of what they were looking for.
Definitely a cool shot and sequence.
More, more!!!
Ohh yeah and how 'bout that guitar! Sweet guitar riff'n get's tha blood mov'n!
Ultimately, it doesn't matter what the problem is/was, you'll find it an fix it, but it'll be a positive, because everyone in the team will learn, which makes the team better for the future.
There is no problem, just solutions
Proud of the whole race team! Great driving Clay!
Love the overhead view.
New fan here! Actually found you on TH-cam from your collaborations with Jeff Lutz and started following. I absolutely love the content you put out and your personality in general. Go get em’ Clay!
Congratulations, nice pull! Get em on Sunday
Good luck team.looks promising
Good luck crew !
Awesome!!
You know what it is...
It's 'because race car'
It's that simple...
It's what we all get stuck with every time.....
Hope whatever you found wrong is something you can share.
Have you ever done a video walking us through what you are doing with your hands on those levers?
He has. Check his previous vids.
I think I found your problem with #8. It get's over looked all the time. I have a feeling that the muffler bearings are rusty and could use a rechroming. I know it sounds unlikely but at your horse power level I have see the chrome get melted right off those suckers.
Question for you Clay. What material and grit of ball hone do you guys use for deglazing the sleeves between rounds?
Normally ya change 1 item at a time...but when time is out ya throw the kitchen sink at it and hope it fixed it.. OL JIM O DIDNT START THIS SHIII TODAY.. CLAY SOTLP 4 W's all way to winner circle
😄
"You gotta have faith"
Thanks Clay!
Ain't it wonderful to be alive when the rock 'n' roll plays, yeah
When the memory stays, yeah
I'm keepin' the faith
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keepin' the faith
I would also love a video on the warm up and everything that goes on from start to finish. Never seen this side of the sport before, I am very interested. You can do a voice over so it is nice and clear during warm up. Great content.
Agree, would love to see a video on the starting and shut off process for the warm up. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
It’s hard for him to do that sense he would literally have to hire someone and dedicate that time and money for that specifically
Love how you got the reaction from the crew about low et! Things like that really pump people up!
I am so glad I saw you in the thumbnail on the side suggestions for videos. Liked and subscribed! We got to see a little bit of you with Steve Morris and really glad you have your own channel because now I can follow along and get more of this unfathomably fast and high tech style of racing. I'm hooked.
It will only let me subscribe once 🤷🏻♂️🤓
Wish you the best you are awesome 💯 teams
Hey RICK WARE! You rock! Thanks for all the awesome parts! I’m a RICK WARE RACING FAN!!!!!
LOVE THE TOP DOWN Time Lapse. Also....when you said YOU GOTTA HAVE FAITH... All I could think of was Limp Bizkit. Lol! SOTLP! Good luck sir!
Rick ware,,should try the isky cam ,that might get it done,( you know on a test engine on test only practice runs or on the Dyno),,,see if you can get some more HP torque, thanks BigAl California.❤❤❤
Change the plugs on number 8, or check air leak ,,,might be seeping In thruogh the gasket in that area ,you know that will act like a blow torch,,, lol thanks BigAl California
Come on people ,lettttts goooo stomp on that subscribe button, thanks 🙏 people , we love it so we need to stomp on-that subscribe button, thanks BigAl California
What is the guy pulling out of the fuel line after the warmup? Looks like a piece of tape or something.
Love the overhead view. Looks like a group of ants scurrying over a hot dog way cool. Best of luck to you and your guys.
I miss when you used to go in and talk to them after a pass.
on the first run...on the in-car view, I knew when I saw your head pop forward, it was probably the "button push." GREAT footage as usual!
LOW ET BABY! Sic em!
Best teardown/rebuild fast forward flick.
Thank you
S’Go!!!!!
The excitement and tension builds. I have fait today is the day for RWR. Stomp on that loud pedal.🦶
@ClayMillican can you explain what you mean by dropping a cylinder and what that does to the motor when you drop a cylinder or at least what it does to that cylinder if anything on your next Q&A video? I'm A Big Fan Mr. Clay. P.S We Need More People Like You In This 🌎 !!
Im not Clay but maybe he won't mind if I answer this for you - "dropping a cylinder" or "hole out" means one or more of the 8 cylinders is not firing or making power. It can be caused by numerous things with a Top Fuel engine. It is basically a loss of about 1200 horse power per cylinder that is not making power.
Awesome Job Clay and Crew! Love watching you guys push the game and adjust with the trials and tribulation....you seem like a jewel of the sport amd it's a pleasure watching you, thank you for your content. Big fan here every race and wish you the very best!
Here comes the next click, Ha Ha is clear. One question, when warming up you usually hold a small mirror in your hand. What do you want to see? 🤔 Greetings Hans.
Hell yeah let's go. Stomp on that loud pedal Clay and get that win. Good luck guys
Good morning, Clay. I worked on a pro stock car for about 7 years I started in 1988 I think about the same time you started driveling. Thank you for the video's brings back memories and Smells. LOL. You would always say Hi to me or talk to me almost every time in the staging lanes you are a very cool cat. Thank You Agin. Keep the rubber side down and good luck today.

Wow the 360 down shot is fricken awesome…choreography at its best everyone going about their business….. could not get past the header spitting on shutdown….so much fuel….❤️❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻
Thanks for the awesome videos Austin. Good job. Thanks Clay you're an ambassador for the sport. Thanks to Rick for supporting this awesome group of people.
Great video, especially the engine tear down and assembly. The music that went with it was KICK, sounded like Joe Walsh, would like to know who it is. STOMP ON THAT LOUD PEDAL, TURN ON THAT WIN LIGHT!
Awesome Job Everyone!!!!!
Clay, I know top fuel is a completely different animal in racing with all kinds of data.
I'm curious, when I used to race, #8 was a pain in my a** until I started matching it to #1. Everything from piston size, balance, wrist pin, rod, valves, literally everything basically as a mirror image to each other and it seemed to match those corners.
When the team is analyzing, do those types of scenarios get considered? Matching sides and things like that.
Obviously whatever the issue has been seemed to be solved, but it reminded of those "Back in the day" moments.
Looking forward to some Hot Runs Baby!
STOMPONTHATLOUDPEDAL!!!!!🤙
*I'm a long time subscriber and dang proud of it.*
I also like (👍🏻) every video. It's the very least I can do to say thanks Clay for the entertaining video.
STOMP on that loud pedal and go win some Wally's and a Championship!🏁🏁🏁
Well done Clay and your team for making a good run without any problems. Go step on the loud pedal with lead boots on 😂😂 🏴🇬🇧 for tomorrow.👍👍👀
Time 1515
Ain't it wonderful to be alive when the rock 'n' roll plays, yeah
When the memory stays, yeah
I'm keepin' the faith
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Keepin' the faith
You'll get it figured out ..... would love to see a detailed video breaking down the magnetos, not just what they do/how they work but a tear down with explanation.......pretty plz!
Godspeed!!
Baby points !! Finally, isn't this the first time you've picked up baby points in the Jim-O era ? Had to be a goal for your team, improved Qually. Hopefully you all will have a consistent race car when the real drag races pick back up at the route 66 event. In the mean time we have to suffer through the 4 wide nonsense...
Yes things are getting better with the low ET @332!! And that music you play during the tear down and rebuild reminds me of The James Gang funk 49 song.
Are you allowed flexible wing parts? If so, you could try wings that start flexing down when you have total traction or at about 280mph giving more speed out the back end. As you slow back down they flex back up maintaining braking stability.
Another curious question. Is #8 the first one or the last one on the fuel rail? Or, are the rails fed from both ends?
After your interview with Nicky B & Jim O you should consider starting a channel interviewing some of the old timers at the different tracks.... your very good at that!!!! Best of luck today give em hell!!!!!!!
Wish I could click it again, but that was a couple of years ago, lol! Heck of a day, low ET! Gotta love adding points to the "long report card", harhar. Little bummed the weekend didn't go better, but at least y'all getting stuff ironed out. & we will keep watching, no matter what! Fun stuff, to keep learning more of what's happening in the pits, cockpit & track. Thanx !
Clay, always enjoy your video's, thanks for sharing.
Clay, so you loaded up the parts cannon and fixed the issue... I know how it feels to have to change parts, good and bad just to make the race ahhhh.... As always thanks for taking us along!
BTW The overhead camera is a great shot, love it!!!
Surprised that you don't put your visor down on the burnout !!! Lot of crud flying around!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊 just sayin 😂
Hey Clay?, I was wondering if there was a way to put a gas injector on each cylinder, to help keep the candles all lit? I know you would have to follow NHRA Rules. It just seems to me that that might be a way to keep all the cylinders firing. I understand that many things could cause misfires. Hey, Just a thought from a little town.
Hell Yeah !. We all been waiting for this. Can't wait the Race Day !. If I could subscribe this channel as many as I wish !? 👍
Really miss the after run talks with Jim O. going over the run. Really loved hearing the knowledge being thrown around
Do U ever do a vacuum leak down test on the valves between runs?
Do you lap the valves between runs?
I would think the extreme pressures could create a very small unlapped valve seal leak or penetrate a micro fracture in the head or block.

Absolutely incredible teamwork! Amazing how much gets done on the engine while packed together like a bunch of sardines!
Swap piston 1 with piston 8 and see if the problem moves. Just kidding. :)
Nice work to sort that issue...
Best of luck tomorrow Clay and team.
You guys got this...
Awesome run Clay! Tomorrow is victory.
Hey Clay love to watch your videos. Your exactness of routine all the time. I race sportsman class called Prostick. Have question. What do you look at with the small mirror at each warm up?
I know you probably can't tell me but did Jimbo put thinner head gaskets on it?I'm just a curious engine guy.
Just a wild shot and it shouldn’t be a thing with as many parts have been changed and are changed anyway between every pass but have you considered looking hard at the hole before it in the firing order? I’ve seen particularly in 7.3 powerstrokes where the cylinder before and after can show up on cylinder contribution tests and throw the whole works off. It’ll show a code for hole x but it’s actually a whole different thing with the hole before it. 🤷♂️ just a thought.
I look forward to meeting you in Texas this fall. Hopefully the winds will cooperate and we can get the opening skydive in.
I’m curious why you don’t pull your visor down during the burnout. The in-car camera shows a lot of rubber flying around and you squinting. Do you ever get stuff in your eyes from the burnout?
It would be interesting to learn more about the car. All of those things that are in front of the driver that is hidden under the panels. If you wouldn’t mind sharing?
Stomp on that LOUD pedal!!
WOW! Way to go! Thanks for sharing a great video Clay! Good luck to you and the team!!
looking at the time slip i remember the old 300mph club, when it was a exclusive club.
If it's always number 8. Do you have to do some changes to the intake port on the manifold? I guess this is a question for Jimbo.
How does the crew stand working and breathing the exhaust fumes during warm up.
Way to go, RWR Team! You guys are nailing it! I am so excited to see the Win light come on for you guys. It is well deserved and overdue!
Clay is looking for that TH-cam plaque.
Awesome job you and your team keep living the dream ✨️
Clay this is an awesome channel!
LETS GO!!!!!!
Tired of bein' a "po chile," call it number nine, number nine, number nine, number nine... can't hurt, right?
Would you rather keep putting the same hole out or a different one each run? Seems like troubleshooting one might be less difficult, but I am not a mechanic.
We all knew you guys would get ontop of the #8....let's GOOOOO 😊
Good video Clay love to know what changes they make because I don't think the tires were spinning to unload the motor
There’s my .7’s I was looking for guys! Let’s Go!
Love your content. What are you looking at with your mirror during warmup?
How come none of the pit crew wear masks? Surely that fuel is carcinogenic?
“I got a fever.. and the only prescription is more cowbell in the intro!”
Watching from UK,keeping the faith clay
Not choosing the headgasket until before the race for temp is wild
Nice how your guy grounds each coil to see if there is a bad one!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey Clay how come you haven't letter boxed or taped up ur visor with this helmet?
Can’t wait for you to get the 100K plaque!!!!
Racing time buddy love it💪🏼🔥❤️😁👍
It's seriously a crime that this channel doesn't have at least a million subscribers.
Love your videos you are so interesting to watch and a great driver and have a great crew keep them coming wood like to know what you’re doing with all those handles you pull and push
That over head camera is amazing, and time lapse it kool tha Rick Ware Racing m/clay Millican vlog, thanks BigAl California.❤
Have you changed the Wiring loom . It only takes one bad joint to upset things
