Love your correct pronunciation of the Māori language and I grew up with steam pudding too. You’re very brave for posting your recipe as I know there are literally thousands of these recipes at home. You did very well 👍🏽
I just made this steam pudding tonite and its beautiful, melt in the mouth, heavy but moist, taste yum, first time for me..thank you for a lovely moist steam pudding.
Kia ora Sylvia A lovely surprise when searching for this recipe to cook for the first time for a special dinner with Priscilla and Glenn and you pop up up with a well presented video. A long time ago I remember a steam pudding on Marion’s kitchen bench so no doubt you tried a few of them with Tori. ❤
When preparing the steamed pudding, cream the butter and sugar add eggs same way you make a cake and add the wet ingredients and mix till smooth....makes it easier than rubbing the butter into the flour....you can also add vanilla essence
Hey 👋, Fijian here... The recipe we follow is quite similar but instead of water we use coconut milk for the syrup, and instead of the spices we either just do without them or add mashed banana for thar extra flavor 😉
Yes many have the great recipe. Some like your puddings but some won’t. I love my recipe, it works for me and whanau.
