I'm really hating the lack of perspective and ridiculously shallow evaluation by techtubers on the Flip 6. Yes, the Fold 6 was just an SoC upgrade, but the Flip got new SoC, more ram, more battery, better hinge, better cooling, dust rating, 7 years OS, AND THE S24's MAIN SENSOR. That last one is HUGE. The ZFlip series always had weak cameras but was being marketed towards younger crowds who wanted good selfies and photos for the gram or w.e., and now it has the hardware to back it up. The ZFlip6 is likely one of if not the best Flip phone you can buy now. Literally the only thing missing at this point is Dex. Please for the love of God, gain some perspective. Some people are coming from the Flip 4 or even Flip 3, and in their case this would be a whole new world. Even for some Flip 5 users their are enough upgrades here that some of them are upgrading. I have also seen countless long-time iPhone users commenting on ZFlip6 videos saying they've already preordered their ZFlips and are excited to finally leave the garden. Samsung is on the cusp of actually winning with cultivating design rather than just a logo

Man I was going to write this but saw your comment. I dont understand what they want, samsung for one has been improving their flip and fold for generations just cause it almost looks like the previous gen and has same display (fokding display has a layer reducrion ) doesnt mean they have not updated the phone.
It’s a new phone, certainly there will be some upgrade, but there is not a big difference between the last gen and this new gen. So very little difference between flip 5 and flip 6 so unless you have a flip that is 2-3 gen old you are not missing much.

I have heard many ppl say the iPhone is boring, I think Marques has said it a bunch of times before in the past right? I really can't remember. Heck all companies make boring phones now as there is only so much you can do with them now, the entire front you stare at all day is a full screen so I'm not even sure what you can even do with that. It's a stagnating thing across the board as phones are powerful enough and you can't really do a full on change as idk what you can change at this point compared to 12 years ago. Just a specs bump internally and some upgraded cameras and a few other things here and there but that's really all I can see what anyone can do. Unless it can make me waffles for breakfast in the morning or something, as far as that I really think there should be a 3 year release cycle at this point, I really see no point in these yearly release cycles anymore but that's just me. Most it's just what they do with software but I'm kinda tired of this AI crap that is just a gimmick and we only need a handful of things but they will try to add so much useless other stuff that will not be used by most average users and it just eat up storage space and background resources and drain battery life. At this point it's best to just wait 2 years when they stop trying to push crap we don't need and focus on a handful of features that is more useful.
As a long time Samsung fan, this isn't about the design. I would've loved it if they kept the S21 series' design for a decade, it was the perfect design imo.
The problem with Samsung is that for the 3rd straight year, their Fold flagship still has the same cameras, battery capacity and charging speeds. While Chinese manufacturers are giving us 1 inch sensors, floating lens periscope cameras, 100w charging, Samsung is relying on their faithfuls to buy their phones.

The only things I'd love for Apple to change on the iphone is removing the dynamic island, and having a new rear camera design because ive never been the biggest fan of the mickey mouse looking cameras

That image for the circle to search shows the S Pen for the S24 Ultra so it's not a Zfold6. The S Pens are very different.

Then the AI features aren't for you... I mean?? The same can be said about the S-Pen, but it's a nice feature and option to have if you do need it.
I mainly use the ai for improving photos and videos, removing certain things from pictures, and asking random questions that I'm too lazy to look up
I use them especially the language one...my German friend now chats with me in German and it translates instantly
People need to budget in that within a year and a half or so you gonna be paying subscription fee for those AI features.
I hope there will be a way to bypass it.

Do people actually care about the cloud based ai features? I don't know anybody that really uses them. The generative fill is the only kinda useful one and if you've used it before it's hilariously unreliable. Straight up try to erase a car from the scene and it'll generate a different car in its place, try to remove that new car and it'll generate a trailer in its place. It doesn't seem to like removing things, just replacing them
@@SnakeFire3Yeah, the AI has it's merits , but a lot of the time for general daily usage , it seems way over hyped , while the AI thing may have some legit usefulness in some areas , a lot of it appears to be very gimmicky.
The example shown where the guy drew the Eiffel tower and some stars and the AI came up with fireworks was just laughable, would you even bother😊.
Maybe I'm wrong , but a lot of these what seem like whizz bang features at release , like the AR stuff seem to very quickly get forgotten until the next gimmick comes along.

This fold upgrade keeps me from having to upgrade for at least 4 years. Im of the age now that upgrading phones is less necessary
From not giving windows devices a platform to doing the same with Android now. Funny how Marques won't even post a full review for a major device from one of the leading manufactures but will milk iOS beta updates.

6:30 I have an s24 ultra and the first one they showed definitely just looks like an s34U based on how the s pen looks. The spen that you buy separately with the galaxy fold doesnt have that button at the end.

been using a Fold 4 and i love it. But the outside screen is way to narrow. I am getting a new phone this year but I am waiting on the Pixel fold 2 for the form factor that one has. So unless Google screws it up somehow I will be switching from Samsung for the first time in over decade.

Had the Fold 4. Just bought the Z 6 and got it. Still a narrow screen but wide enough to use it one-handed. I believe Samsung got the perfect formula: a mini phone when folded and a tablet when unfolded.
@chinedulou6714 the user interface it's what brings me back every time, the multitasking, dex. I think people misunderstood the ideas of the outer screen, it was ment to view notifications and scroll through media not to type or work with it, for that you opened the big screen. But because people want a wider phone now we have a square phone. Movies and videos aspect ratio it's usually 16:4 making the big screen useless for entertainment unless you zoom in but now you only see 1/3 of the film.
I gotta be honest, watching the foldables event just be a rehashing of the S series event in terms of AI features is mind-numbingly painful. There's a reason I skip all of it and just watch stuff like this to rehash everything but in a more pleasant format. Thanks for doing all of the boring stuff for us! Lol

That looks like an S24 Ultra at 6:15, not a Fold.
Still narrow = still useless…why can’t we get it like a normal aspect ratio folded is beyond me…it’s just so much more useful if you can use it folded like a normal phone and then unfold for more functionality. Makes more sense no?😅 The fact that we need to unfold to use it “normally” means less battery life due to the need to use the bigger screen more often than we have to even for typing especially if you’re in a longer than usual messaging chain even while commuting. That also means less hinge life and higher chance of screen damage over the years…
Because this aspect ratio makes the phone usable with one hand when closed. It's actually perfect and i hope they keep this aspect ratio for the front screen

At the moment these companies should be producing a new phone after 2 yrs coz yearly release have no major changes
nobody forcing you to buy one each year that is a you issue i going from fold 3 to 6 and all the improvements will be huge

I feel like everyone got used to going from the 3 to 4 to 5, they forgot how most phones iterate now days. There’s just not much huge things to change when they already made a pretty good phone. Especially when the big focus this year was making it on par with every other phone, it was a needed change

Maybe I‘m alone but even things as summaries I dont want/need Ai for it. I want to decide what information is valueable to me and not some algorithems….I dont know I‘m somehow not interested at all in all of this Ai stuff…. I get that it can be useful for some professions but for the normal user I dont see that much benefits that I would actually use.
I don't think the cover screen of the razr and the cover screen of the flip are meaningfully different. The screen around the giant camera cutouts is not usable.

The only thing I don't like about ai is that the majority of the internet, is ran by bots now
So if I have negative interest in AI features on my phone, should I just get the Fold 5? Is anything else about the Fold 6 actually appreciably different?
Slightly wider outside screen, better overall design (especially that front screen with the symmetrical bezels), better battery life thanks to the new chip, bigger cooling system, longer software support (7 years vs 4), and a pretty big jump in durability (on paper anyway)
If none of that interests you then get the fold 5, it already has all the actually good AI features anyway from a software update 😂
The Fold 5 will eventually get the new AI features anyway. The Fold 5 is just fine as long as you are ok with sacrificing the lighter weight and slightly wider outside screen on the Fold 6.

@@walterwatts385 what you stated makes kore sense. I am going from a Bora Purple Galaxy Z Flip 4 to a Razr next week. Preordered it with a good price and I get to try different software and something new with a bigger screen than what I have. Also the ability to use almost any app without tinkering is going to be fun. The reason I will not go to a Galaxy Flip 6. Also that price hike is a lot. I also preordered the Galaxy Watch Ultra the same day with $380 off. I rather use that extra $100 on that watch. Also Razr is coming out to $552. Yeah Tmobile has it for a random price.

Like, just because other companies have started making foldables does not mean they're not still innovating. Fold 6 changes : Larger front screen/2600nits on both screen /ltpo 1 to120hz on both screen/weight as much as a s24 ultra or iphone 14 pro max / new Soc / faster storage /New design/Better cooling/New ultra wide camera/7 years of updates/All the AI bs/The phone has no gap the fold 5 still has a gap/Better battery even though the size is the same/Dust resistance. Just seeing how narrow the Zfold 6 still is , it looks like rubbish that narrow front screen in my book is garbage 🗑️.

You couldn't pay me to own a Z fold 6 , and i don't care if it has a coffee maker inside of it , that awful tv remote form factor of the front screen is imo crap , and that is the reason i also won't look at buying a Sony phone .
If you are a person with biggish hands and fingers a narrow screen is the worst , of course narrow screens have other cons too , but that is a huge one.

The AI junk is so unnecessary. I have it on my S23 Ultra and I used it like... twice. Gemini is also just as useless. I want actual features and hardware, not gimmicks. If all they can show is a few hardware bumps, a very slight increase to the front display, and STILL not comparable to an ultra, I still am not hopping on the foldable train. I'm so over this AI crap.
I bet you there'll be a time where you are happy about those AI features. I use them rarely too, but there have been some occasions where it was super helpful

Flip and Fold phones are exciting but definitely not durable. They have a shelf life and once the screen protector starts coming off, it will require a replacement. Even if Samsung provides one screen replacement, you will have to pay for the next replacement on your own. And what I have understood by many user reviews, the screen protector starts coming off around a year's time. And the cost to replace it is huge so definitely not a great phone to upgrade to despite being exciting!
You can just remove the screen protector if you dont wanna get it replaced. Btw, all classic phones also require you to spend money for a screen protector
@@ezBeanie I don't think you quite understand how the protector on flip and Fold phones work. If you take them off or if they start coming off, the display itself stops working. And upon that, replacing these screen protectors costs much higher then your regular screen protectors. Just look for the issues people have faced in the long term usage of these phones!
@@LifeInTheAquarium2022 No, this is not the Fold 1 we are talking about. You can remove the protector that might start to peel off without having to replace it. (As i did with my fold 4 for the last 12 months that i used it.) The phone and screen works fine without the preapplied screen protector since the Fold 2
@@LifeInTheAquarium2022 Also, my fold 4 was a brick durability wise. I removed the screen protector when it started to peel of and used it for 2 years without a case. It is actually quite durable.

This lunch was a huge dissapointment. I was so ready to upgrade from the fold 4, and I can get a huge discount in Denmark, and a set of Buds pro 3, and still I haven't ordered, because why? Samsung is becoming more boring then Apple, and that takes some concentration.
Just check the device out in person, hold it in your hand, open it, use it. It feels alot better in hand and looks much better than the fold 4. I had the 4 too and they definitely improved a ton on the 6!
