honestly, the corecore trend was definitely something i needed in a time when it happened, it started popping up on my fyp at around late november of last year, about a month after one of my friends passed away. it was something that was comforting, all those slideshows only appearing in the late hours of the night, it felt like validation for all of the horrible things i was feeling. and for months i sorta just sat in this pool of dread because i knew that other people were dealing with something like what i was going through, and that was comforting. but eventually life goes on, and about two months ago, i stopped watching the slideshows, i guess i was getting better, which is good, i’m still learning how to deal with a passing of friend, but now i’m not as sad as i was all those months ago. in three months it’ll be the one year anniversary of his death, and i feel like that will be the closure i need. geez that was unhinged and really depressing, especially considering it’s a youtube video, but i guess that’s just what certain trends or communities do, they evoke a feeling of belonging or safety in times of unrest.
You’re very right about the negative effects of wading through hours of content to try and find videos that fit to a rather depressing topic I had to supplement with happier now called hopecores and completely different content to reverse that cloud of pessimism which thankfully birthed a yin and yang of unexplored appreciation for beautiful things and feelings I otherwise would have never seen or felt. Definitely an effective form of self therapy.
Really appreciate the effort that went into this. corecore wasn’t even called anything when I started its been amazing to watch it grow and split into all the various avenues of creativity im glad me and my core mutuals have made such an impact on some people ❤
I really love core core slideshows and eventually edits but right now i feel the most soul crushing sadness while watching 30theory edits and they are not even supposed to be sad I feel the nostalgia and how im never gonna be able to get it back Check that out too

you ok? Jordan Peterson isnt problematic. you could use some of that. He helped me in my depression and i found Christ eventually whom is the only thing that actually got rid of a lot of my depression. Jordan made me reconsider the scriptures and he made me understand how harming myself harms others before I was a Christian. You dont understand what you are saying and im sorry for that. Jordan is a good guy. You just cant control peoples speech and think thats okay. if he was literally like evil maybe but hes not and you cant give me any real reason to think that.
