    Every amateur game, whenever something happens that a team doesn’t like, you always hear 30 blokes simultaneously screaming “REEEEFFFFFF!!!! AHHHHBLEHHHH REFBLEHARGH?!”
    It’s hilarious.

    I'm sixty-six. I played from 13 onwards, at 25 I did my cruciate, coached for 12 years then reffed for 10 years. I once made a mistake during a game that led to a goal that clinched the league for the away team. It was a dreadful error of judgement that haunts me 20 years later. I quit after that game.
    Every ref makes mistakes, just like every player does but refs analyse games in their heads on the way home. They think about what they could of got right, how they could have done better. Refs are human.

      It’s tough being a ref. People think we just go about our day after the game. If I make a mistake, I’d be thinking about it for months and how I can avoid it happening again

    Great video! I've just completed my first year as a ref (Tier 4) over here in Wales and found this really interesting. Thought your handling was excellent. On the 'second'yellow' incident, I don't think it is a second yellow because the defender in my opinion makes a genuine attempt to win the ball. I think you got that right. I wonder what feedback you got from the Prem assistant?! Good work.

      Thank you, glad you enjoyed it and I hope your first year at tier 4 went well. He said he would’ve been happy with either decision and would’ve back a YC but thought I managed the game really well

    Well done managing players. That seems to be your strongsuit.
    11:25 I believe must be a PK. Potential for caution for reckless challenge as well. Yes the ball goes off of red player but that does not excuse a tackle of that nature
    17:18 If the tackle at 13:25 is a caution, how is this not a second caution? Whether or not the incidents occur within a minute of eachother is irrelevant.
    Many of the player frustrations seemed to be from a lack of consistency of the threshold for reckless challenges. Once again, your player management was stellar. I plan on using some of your tactics for that.

    • @RefsWorld
      @RefsWorld  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Thank you. I appreciate the feedback. I thought I could manage it at the time and prevent something happening at the end and I agree it doesn’t matter how long apart the incidents are.

    11:29 I don't think it's a pen. Looks like he might have been wiped out by his own player who then causes him to clamor into the opposition. The question is also if the ball went out before the collision because iirc the laws state a penalty cannot be awarded if the ball is not in play.
    12:01 He throws himself to the ground. It's not a foul.
    12:26 Great tackle.
    12:55-13:02 Great refereeing. Spot on.
    17:25 I don't think it's reckless. It's careless but to give a final warning here I think it also fair.
    What a great game! You had a part in creating that. Well done!

  • @dongiovanni6796
    @dongiovanni6796 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Caution at 13:30 seems severe to me. If he doesn't get a little piece of the ball, he is very close and so for me this isn't reckless and merely a simple foul. However, there is game flow and the prior conduct of the player to consider which we haven't the benefit of watching only the excerpts.

    • @RefsWorld
      @RefsWorld  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It looks soft on the video but he catches him quite a bit and along with game management at the time I felt it was right

  • @MyNameIsDan1992
    @MyNameIsDan1992 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I'd say second yellow within a minute. As you said earlier when comparing 2 similar fouls, one warranted a yellow for stopping a promising attack. This player had just recieved a yellow for slowing play and then not only comes through a player, stops an attack in doing so. Granted he had a good game before then but personally would have given him 2 yellows on less than 60 seconds as both fouls independently wouldve probably warranted a yellow had they had occured in 2 seperate halfs

    11:46 i think its a penalty because of the point of contact slow the playback speed to 0.25 and only watch the number 2.

      Excellent watch. Really good insight in to a day in the life of a match official at grassroots.
      A great advert for Sunday morning football, 6 goals, 2 in added time and a red card.
      An accomplished team performance from the team of officials which made the game an entertaining watch. A too officious referee could have spoilt the game. Bravo boys
      The tackle from the CB could have been a 2nd YC but I support to manage the situation.

    Dimi when NLA scored their third goal I'm sure it doesn't show it on this video but it does on the Barnet League one you giving an Enfield United player a yellow was that for complaining about the apparent handball in the build up?

    • @RefsWorld
      @RefsWorld  4 หลายเดือนก่อน
