Best suit I have ever owned was from one of those stores. And cheap too! Only problem is that was in 2015 and it was tailored...maybe had a few singhas since then...haha! Great video.

Come to Khon Kaen, Isan food here is amazing, just go anywhere here and ask for it, it might not be on the menu, but most places would be happy to serve you real Isan, lab tod, might be off on spelling, but you'll love it!🥳
A lot of these Tuk Tuk drivers will take you to these jewelry stores that sell overpriced gemstones. I've heard it referred to as the "jewelry scam". However, if you are in the market for gemstones, Bangkok is one of the best places in the world to buy colored gemstones like rubies and sapphires (not diamonds). The Jewelry Trade Center on Silom Road is the best place. Also, if you want a good suit made, there are many good suit shops on Silom as well. I bought an interview suit on Silom and the quality was really good.

I caught a TukTuk to the Grand Place and was not too cool with wasting my time on suit shops… BUT keep up the great edits you are an inspiration..

Theses guys are amazing for a chat and invaluable for advice for let’s be honest minimal fees. There’s a good chat to be had every few steps in Bangkok when you stop and engage

In China, the rickshaw drivers tell you one price and then at the end, they bring out a cardboard sign with the real price. The tour was ok, he practice the English parts but didn't really know English. Ended up costing us double what he first told us.
300 for a groovy video and a free suit... sounds like a bargain for such an interesting adventure. I can see why many folks might get pissy about the stops... but to me it seems like part of the charm there.
If you have a spare half day then I think it'll be good to support the tuk tuk drivers and to go to a cool place to eat, shame you didn't vlog the food tho or exact location
When I was in phuket back in 2006 I got a free ride but they took me to several jewelry stores. During that time they would get their gas card stamped for free gas.
I can't believe a you gave one of those bandits 300 baht. This scheme of Tuk-tuk drivers taking farang to tailors, jewelry shops, and silk shops has been going on for more than 35 years. It totally sucks for unsuspecting or unaware tourists.
Ah yes, I must have like 6 suits at home now 😂 all from James Fashion House in Bangkok 😂 but yeah they do have good suits especially when you can pick the same fabric Armani uses and the same styles 😂
5K Baht for a suit is seriously cheap. If you are considering it ask the tailor if he's using 'full canvas' with no fusing used - this makes the suit fit better and last longer. Something like that here (UK) would be from about £850 up depending on the fabric you choose
With unlimited time living there, not a bad way to experience what people usually complain about. If on vacation, I could never recommend it. I assume they still try to take you to jewel shops too. You would see bus loads there.
The second tailor use to have a shop in soi 11/1 and had an aggressive attitude towards would be customer's, I never bought anything from him but my friend ended up having lots made which when he collected had doubled in price
Omg, that’s the same exact thing they just did to me in Bangkok. Tuk Tuk offered me 3 temple tours and then I had to go to a suit store because they pay for Tuk Tuk gas. They sized me up and everything for a suit. I had to buy a belt just to get outta there. They were waaaay pushier with me. 😭😭😭
i took one of this trips a few years back and we ended up a jewellery store, they where super pushy and almost would not let us leave. my thai gf at the time had to start talk very loud and get angry before they open door.
@@keisone I remember in the early '90's when the world cup was on, during the final match, Brazil Vs Germany (I think Germany but definitely Brazil), I walked down Sukumvit in the middle of the road as there were absolutely no cars on the road, everyone was at home watching the game. Afterwards, in the Bangkok Post, there was a story about thieves taking off with an ATM at the front of a bank, pulled it out of the wall with a truck. Police had to tell the security guard what happened, he was in the bank watching the game and was so engrossed in the game he didn't hear a thing!
Totally classy - Some tri mates did a Phuket wedding with entire groom party in elephant pant suits - they skated down bangla road en route to the beach service.
