Always amazes me how there are so many outstanding quartets that have ever been and still a handful or so stand so tall about the crowd.
I knew the video right when I saw the thumbnail, i really like their rendition of this
BSU. Legends of the craft. Thankfully for us, prolific to boot.
Right on! Love how they pull this off no quartet sings it better!
This brings back ancient memories; I was "there" in Cincinnati in '76 when they won.

There is a real something of the Osmonds about these guys. Especially the lead. But not just the lead. The whole thing gives Osmonds energy. I guess they did get their start in barbershop too didn't they.

Hey I noticed the baritone line in bar 7 the word “With” should be an F#, not the G# that’s written.
I prefer the one where the 1st tenor (I think) ripped up to a B6
That one goes crazy all the time. Believe it was The Vagrants

b5 btw, the note a semitone higher is c6 :)
also the b is an overtone, I believe the tenor sits on a f#5 (unless you're talking about the tim waurick version)
The amazing thing about the Vagrants’ version is that none of the singers were actually singing that B5! From bass to tenor, they sang B3, B4, D#5, and F#5 - and they locked that chord so well, we heard a B5 overtone.
That being said, it was Bluegrass Student Union that first showed me what an overtone was, when I heard their recording of “I Can Dream, Can’t I”
