i think it's been showcased in one aeronautics trailer, the one called "landlord" aeronautics is like the more create and complex physics mod for that, you should check it out
Flaps are used for creating more drag on the wing while creating more lift so you don’t need to go as fast to takeoff and landing, also they should be placed on the back of the main wing
I think the problem with your plane wasn't that it was back heavy because you could still point your nose down. The problem is you had too many wing blocks generating too much lift causing the nose to be pushed up. Hope this solves your problem so you can build a working plane! Edit: TL;DR Remove some wingblocks then it should work
Assuming that the physics of the mod at least vaguely resemble reality, it was ABSOULTELY a case of the plane being too tail heavy. No amount of lift will pitch the nose up or down on a properly balanced plane. Of course the fact that his elevators weren't working correctly didn't help either.
Of course, I think part of the problem is that the horizontal stabilizer is not generating any lift. Because that thing should be enormously nose heavy, not tail heavy.
@@Nukestarmaster eh? no, the entire body has weight- just the moving contraption parts don't the weights are realistic- having a shitload of 1m^3 hunks of wood on the back of your plane plus solid stone grindstones are gonna weigh a lot

I think the problem is just the longitudinal static stability. This stability is described by the change in the moment about the CG with respect to the angle of attack. For the airplane to be stable, the moment has to react in the opposite direction as the angle of attack, otherwise it'll be unstable. A few things can increase the stability, including moving the CG forward and increasing the aerodynamic surface 'volume' behind the CG. The 'volume' in this case refers to the surface area of the aerodynamic surface multiplied by its distance from the CG. So moving the tail backwards and/or increasing its area will achieve this.

As a proffesional self-learning thing, I can say that you need to move the wing forward, and also add steering do front wings. It's simple: If you want to go right the left flap is down and the right one is up, and if the mod works correctly, you can go right. But if you want a working plane, I would watch some tutorials about building.

Using lighter blocks and a longer base will help a ton for the functionality of the horizontal and vertical stabilizer, also only having a part of those (making a rudder and elevators) moving will increase the controllability of the aircraft. For the ailerons, using a thinner base could work, if the physics is like the one for reality, than all these principles should be somewhat relevant.
You need to have less wing panels at the front or more wing panels at the back. Currently your airplane is aerodynamicaly unstable, and thats why its so hard to controll. Also to be able to fly it properly you need to be able to control the roll of the aircraft (which you can do by adding ailerons)
This mod goes really well with Immersive engineering and create diesel generators. Immersive Engineering's Bio Diesel can power the Diesel engines and about 3 engines lined up can power a plane for a good while, plus the fluid pipes don't require a pump meaning it'll just be pulled out and placed into the generators without having to waste space and time on the main engine.
Flaps are used behind the main wings to allow you to fly at lower speeds. You can also use the motor to make a rudder, it works the same as a boat rudder and is located behind the tail I have no idea why I know this
That infuser 'shockwave' animation looks almost identical to the Gregtech scanner, right down to the actual scanlines on it. I wonder if it's just a coincidence, or if they actually got permission to use it?
usually on a plane there are at least 4 flaps. 2 controlled together at the end of plane for pitch, and 2 controlled separately at the end of 2 wings for roll. Bigger airplanes nowadays also has flaps under the wings that kind of acts like star wars s-foils, where it is adjusted during flight and landing for maximum agility(during flight) or lift(take-off/landing)
They need to balance the CoM and CoL, they are virtually flying it backwards in this video. Flaps only increase lift, and their problem isn't with the lift amount. They'd probably also do better with ailerons so they have roll, as it's less efficient to yaw to turn. Also they probably need a longer fuselage as in order to add alot of this stuff they're gonna need more space
