Crockery drifts across the surface of "clinamen", and when gentle currents get these white porcelain bowls clinking, French artist Celeste Boursier-Mougenot creates a changing, chiming soundscape.

Céleste Boursier-Mougenot is a French artist and composer who creates large-scale acoustic installations and environments which draw upon laws of nature and the rhythms of everyday life to produce new forms of art and music.
In clinamen white porcelain bowls float on the surface of an intensely blue pool. Circulating gently, swept along by submarine currents, floating crockery acts as a percussive instrument, creating a resonant, chiming acoustic soundscape marked by complexity, hidden patterns and chance compositions.
Encompassing sculptural, performative and avant-garde music traditions, Boursier-Mougenot's installation promotes chance and indeterminacy in musical composition through the use of unorthodox musical instruments. In its unification of colour, sound and space, clinamen encourages a form of multisensory or synaesthetic engagement, while also creating a social space for reflection and contemplation.

In clinamen weißen Porzellanschalen schwimmt auf der Oberfläche eines blauen Swimmingpool. Zirkulierenden sanft, treiben in den Strömen, diese schwimmenden Schalen als Percussion-Instrument handeln, die Schaffung eines Klingeltons und eine Landschaft von Komplexität versteckte Muster und zufällige Arrangements gekennzeichnet.

Em clinâmen porcelana branca bacias flutuando sobre a superfície de uma piscina azul. Circula suavemente, à deriva nas correntes, estas taças flutuantes atuar como um instrumento de percussão, criando um tom de toque e uma paisagem marcada pela complexidade dos padrões ocultos e arranjos aleatórios.
В Clinamen белого фарфора чаши плавающие на поверхности голубой бассейн. Циркуляционные мягко, дрейфующих в токах, эти плавающие чаши выступать в качестве ударного инструмента, создавая мелодию и пейзаж отмечены сложности скрытые закономерности и случайные договоренностей.

Clinamen beyaz porselen mavi bir yüzme havuzu yüzeyinde yüzen çanaklar. Akımlar içinde sürüklenen, yavaşça dolaşan, bu yüzen kase bir zil sesi ve gizli desenleri ve rasgele düzenlemelerin karmaşıklığı ile işaretlenmiş bir manzara oluştururken, bir vurmalı çalgı olarak hareket ederler.
Dalam clinamen mangkuk porselen putih mengambang di permukaan kolam renang biru. Beredar lembut, hanyut dalam arus, ini mangkuk mengambang bertindak sebagai instrumen perkusi, menciptakan nada dering dan pemandangan ditandai dengan kompleksitas pola tersembunyi dan pengaturan acak.

Es una propuesta que me gusta mucho, si bien creo que este orientalismo, ese pseudobudismo, tan de moda, no casa en absoluto con la agresividad salvaje de cualquier sociedad humana, incluidas las europeas. La bestialidad impera en las relaciones individuales y entre estados. Esta propuesta parece más una fuga de una realidad desagradable, lo que a la larga creo que producirá mayor insatisfacción. Hay otras propuestas de arte contemporáneo más acordes con la realidad y más de mi gusto. La belleza apolínea debe envelar, sugerir, el horror. Pero esta, como "jardín" sin más pretensiones, es muy buena.
