THE MAGIC OF SOUND by Zimoun

- Using simple and functional components, Zimoun builds architecturally-minded platforms of sound. Exploring mechanical rhythm and flow in prepared systems, his installations incorporate commonplace industrial objects. In an obsessive display of simple and functional materials, these works articulate a tension between the orderly patterns of Modernism and the chaotic forces of life. Carrying an emotional depth, the acoustic hum of natural phenomena in Zimoun's minimalist constructions effortlessly reverberates.
Zimoun is best known for his installative, generally site-specific, immersive works. He employs mechanical principles of rotation and oscillation to put materials into motion and thus produce sounds. For this he principally uses simple materials from everyday life and industrial usage, such as cardboard, DC motors, cables, welding wire, wooden spars or ventilators.
Zimoun’s works continually embrace oppositional positions, such as the principles of order and chaos. Works may be arranged in a geometrical pattern or ordered and installed according to a system, yet they behave chaotically and act - within a carefully prepared framework of possibilities - in an uncontrolled manner as soon as they are mechanically activated. As if in a clinical study, the pattern and the systematic approach enable an overview, so that the chaos generated by the mechanical process can be better analysed. - ภาพยนตร์และแอนิเมชัน

雑踏や波音のよう。ずっと聞いてられる。
音を出す仕組みの揺らぎもずっと見てられる。
My mind is blown! Love the visual as well as sound.

I always Enjoyed the sound of rain/wind before storm/rain while inside my house/storm and I thought it would be a ridiculous ask to ask for artificial simulation of them, this is treasure
though besides those, I didnt like the sticks, metals, sauna vapour off the stones sounds, but Im curious if anyone found it enjoyable for themselves? And
Haunting but fascinating at the same time. 2:15 this was is so cool honestly.
Do they synchronize after a while?
소리를 생성하기 위해 저 넓은 공간을 활용한다는 것이 어쩌면 설치미술의 한쪽 극단에 있을지도.
With the 2355 in Zimoun's 1 minute gallery, I cannot sleep at the sound

If a tree falls in an empty forest, will it make a sound? Of course it makes a sound. Sound itself exists independently of human perception.
Waves without ears are sound?
"Sound itself exists independently of human perception" fascinating you phrased it like that.
Museum?

Remember back in 2024 when real, physical art was still a thing?
You came from the Bing Bang video didn't you?
Idk what that is
That's not art
Art has many faces. For one person, just what he sees can be beautiful, for another what he hears. For example I'm second one - I'm sensitive to sounds more than the visual.
