Some of the dodge roll guys must be hiding in there so many improbable easter eggs
This is something I hate about Fiend Folio. Some of the coolest easter eggs aren't behind something reasonable, like some kind of challenge, but just an incredibly low chance for something to appear randomly. It's annoying. I know most easter eggs from watching them online or messing with debug mode.

The cosplay beggar is a reference to homestuck and a fan comic about it called "karkat goes to a convention" the perfectly generic object is also from homestuck :))

The Perfectly Generic Object is, of course, otherwise useless if it weren't made into a useful object in Fiend Folio. Though, it has appeared in other games, e.g. Starbound, as, well... itself? The Perfectly Generic Item? And mainly used in (terribly nerfed) armor.
Yes, the Perfectly Generic Object in Homestuck literally gets described as "useless." At least you're stealing nothing from nothing.

Hug beggar is amazing from a feelings standard, getting healed by hugging a little guy sounds very wholesome. But I am tied between strange beggars (the funny face from paying them) or cosplay from a reward standpoint. Also the zodiac looks the coolest

What should be added:
1 little change to sprite of dealer beggar like with mimic chest
2 if you hug free hugs beggar for 10 second he will heal you half a heart so more people hug him

3 if you have Tooth and nail item you can kill the hug beggar(which will make Isaac feel even worse giving him a broken heart)

well first that would just make it more easy to ppl to get a ticket to 1~3 free items next floor (and a thing that it was supposed to actually fully blend in with beggars), second it can already heal like 1 heart (technically) with a hug

The content from this mod really feels like it's mod content, doesn't feel like how antibirth did. It's great content but far away from the "vibe" of the base game.

@@smore9831 And Repentance and Antibirth did? Come on, they added alternative floors, alternative versions of the characters, 2D sections and 2D bosses like Rotgut and Beasts and many other crazy things. Repentance definitely didn't feel like a vanilla game and it was its whole point.

The “Perfectly Generic Item” is a reference to Starbound, being the item you spawn in if you incorrectly type something with the “/spawnitem” command or by getting it in-game via an expensive recipe at a rare item shop!

The hug beggar and the blacksmith. One is just super cute and some free health, the other is distinctly unique compared to the others and can be a run breaker if you happen to have mom's box or the smelter.

Fun fact, none of them affect your devil deal chance because the modding API literally doesn't let us affect it. No mod to this day can directly affect devil chances, and none will until kilburn/edmund change the API

I swear to god I’ve gotten increased devil deal chances for blowing up the beggars unique to the andromeda mod though. Tf
@@axon8953 hm ok I'll admit the "no mod to this day can affect devil chance" was a bit of a lie. The API doesn't let us change it directly, BUT nothing stops us from spawning a regular beggar and killing it in the same instant. I assume this must be how Andromeda does it.
I've made the punished and my mod is also affecting devil chance in a way, by forcing the player to take invisible red heart damage, but again, nothing direct

Those are both references to Homestuck, a webcomic that ran from 2009 to 2016. The perfectly generic object is the most simple of all objects in the comic, you know, it's generic.

For me a lot of things in fiend folio mod doesn't fit tboi very well but the cell game, hug beggar and the evil beggar should really be in some dlc (I know Edmund said that renpentance is the final dlc but when afterbirth+ came out he was also saying that this is the last dlc) (sorry for bad English)

which is why every object in starbound that has an erroneous item ID displays as a perfectly generic cube (you can try that one out by spawning an item with a random high number as it's ID)

if you bomb the hug beggar you should automatically get teleported to the beast segment of home, or get teleported to sheol if you're in an endgame segment of the game
