    Supernote devices have received another significant update, version 2.9. This time, yet again, the Ratta team allows us to import and use complex PDF files, including hyperlinks, and use them as notebook templates. This is a very powerful functionality but in combination with everything else on the Supernote platform? It just puts Supernote in another category, as far as real-world functionality and usability go. Amazing work from the Ratta team, yet again!

    This may be the biggest update Ratta has ever done. Phenomenal! Nothing comes close to beating the SuperNote line now, wow!

    Voja, I am new to your channel. Really enjoy your video on the Supernote Nomad. Learned a lot on how to navigate and utilize it to its full potential. Only had the Nomad for 5 days but I feel like an expert already - LOL. Love how well you explains everything. Because of that I had to check out your 2024 organizer. Bought it today! Appreciate the video on how to download and using it on Note so that I can utilize the features on there. It’s a simple planner (which I love) but yet has all that you need to stay organized. Can’t wait to use it. Keep up the great work! Thank you!!!

    First, the cat stole the show!!! Second, thanks Voya for another excellent deep dive into eink devices. I already have and love my Lumi 2, but for my other case uses, I bought the Supernote! Thank you for the work that you do because it’s making a huge difference in my workflow life! 💕

    Love these videos. You are doing us and the e-ink companies a tremendous service.
    Did you know that when you go to name a file, you don't need to backspace the old name? You can touch the X in the name field and get rid of the whole thing. Small thing but much easier!

    Your MDO planner + this update has been phenomenal. I use the MDO as my landing page and add the hyperlinks within the planner to my other notebooks. If you just want to quickly go back to the MDO planner after clicking on a hyperlink, swiping up from the middle of the page will bring you back to the planner.

    PDF as template is an awesome feature. I just wish that it was implemented with lazy loading, so that the template processing wouldn't happen on a page until after it was viewed for the first time. This would massively reduce the note filesize and also remove the initial processing stage.

  • @Gokushan
    @Gokushan 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Wow I get it now. So from a PDF hyperlinked I create a template and now is as a note. That’s huge because hyperlinked didn’t work for me as pdf document. I’ll try it in 2024. Thanks

    I have watched your entire supernote A5X playlist, thanks for a thorough job! I am very interested in byuing a supernote after having seen the development Ratta is putting into their devices.
    Question: sharing notes after a meeting, see 15:48 , is interesting. How would handwriting recognition work if I have some figures drawn in the middle of my text? Does supernote understand that it should not try to make text from the drawing?

    This is a great review, as usual. Do you know if there is a way to add new pages into MDO or MMP if you use it as a template? My biggest concern is running out of pages. Thanks for all you do.

    I think this effectively ends the discussion of the superior e-ink notebook. Rata just stole the show. By a large margin. What I hope they do in the next gen of their devices if "future proof" them, if you will. Similar to how they are discussing a replacable battery, they could maybe implement a larger hard drive that would be partitioned into 2: first part would be unavailable to the user, and would be reserved for software updates, apps etc., and second would be reserved for user files and thus always the same available size. Also, it might make sense to have more than one RAM... not because the device needs it as is but in case they ever decide to upgrade the software to a point where it would be needed. Does this makes sense? So, say, you would have a device with, say, 64GB of storage but only 32GB of that would be available to the user. And would have 4GB of RAM but one half would be "locked"(?). Something along these lines, combined with replacable battery that is being talked about, would effectively make this device virtually timeless. Thank You for this Voya! The Supernote is life-changing for me. And discovering it through Your chanel was a blast.
    EDIT: grammar and spelling

      I will definitively use this functionality next year with MDO in order to add links to notes, before working, to easily find them during the day. The only drawback of PDF template on notes is that you lose the zoom functionality which is a little bit helpful on A6X sometimes...

  • @csandersp

    I very much appreciate your honest and detailed reviews! At the same time I respectfully disagree with your assessment of hardware changes being more important or urgent than software. Perhaps I misunderstood what you meant, but I personally value Ratta because they follow a product philosophy that is good both for consumers and the planet by prioritizing updates over selling new hardware. So please do not support the usual logic of overproduction by giving less importance to more sustainable product innovations. Thank you for considering this and apologies if I misunderstood.

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well they are more urgent for a channel of this type simply because the audience should have access to the new hardware objective information prior to a purchase, and it is objectively a higher priority when considering a purchase of a new device, where as a software update, while also important when considering a new purchase, is objectively secondary priority, as it will apply, certainly not exclusively but, dominantly to people who already own the device in question.

    • @csandersp
      @csandersp 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      @@MyDeepGuide thank you for responding. I still believe that what supernote delivers with a software update is in some cases worth a new hardware from other companies, so people interested in buying have as much interest in knowing about this as knowing about new devices. But I fully respect your decision to run your channel on your own principles and guidelines and am very thankful to be able to get a good overview over the eink developments by following your videos. Have a good day!

    If only they would connect the calendar too... For todo and reminders, this would be a dream come true

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You mean like adding links to calendar and calendar memos from a Notebook?

    • @fcf8269
      @fcf8269 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MyDeepGuide Yep; I was picturing the scenario of not only links but "entities" that can relate between what you write on a document (like your MDO; BTW I use your meeting organizer) and a temporal event, that can be either a todo, reminder or a calendar event.
      Most of my work is related to make something happen by a certain time, or get back about something with someone else at a certain date; so to me the standard workflow of creating events in a document and then create separate events in the calendar has been the weak point of this device (or any other eink device).
      On Boox you can get other apps, so that mitigate the problem; but I would like to use the SN with the pen to do everything, including write down something, lasso-select it and make it a todo/calendar/reminder so I have the document tied to the actual event(s).

  • @edwards4425
    @edwards4425 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Do you recommend using the real time text recognition for MDO? I feel I was having some battery issues with using the real time text recognition and thought it may be easier to just convert to text when I export meetings notes etc.?

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well it depends on your needs. Handwriting recognition notebook will always consume more battery, as they actively analyse content in the background. So it's down to your own needs and preferences. You now have the absolute freedom to choose the option that suits you best :)

  • @pocketkitchen7731
    @pocketkitchen7731 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hey Voya, thanks for this. Question: i bought the Boox Note Air2 plus for note taking, but I'm now looking for a more compact device to read. I have a lot of pdf files and formatting can be a bit wonky. Neoreader has pdf reflow, but it's not always great. This update really makes me rethink the Supernote pdf features. But does Supernote have pdf reflow too? And how is Supernote's epub reflow?

    • @MyDeepGuide
      @MyDeepGuide  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Supernote doesn't have PDF reflow, and as far as Epubs go, it can handle them, but it's formatting options are not on the level where Neo Reader is.

      Nope, not definitely, as it is slower and larger as a file in your device. But it is an extremely powerful option that has to be kept in mind.
