You forgot how a blind man somehow managed to trail Rocky through a very wide-open, abandoned neighborhood, all the way to the car that he had no idea was there.
Not only that but he walked right to her and grabbed her by the hair just as he got to the car, so there was no "Ah the car is here, so the driver's side must be here" and even there was, he had no way of knowing she'd be standing on that spot. Sure he heard the dog bark, but the dog is now in the car. Also another thing I'm confused about. How did she get away? She locked the dog in the car, eventually that dog would get through the seats and even if he didn't, was she just driving with the dog in the back seat that entire time? And if so, is the dog alive? Did she forget about him? Did she let him out eventually regardless of whether or not I believe that she'd be alive afterwards? So many questions!

@@kitkyo the actor of Alex played in a Netflix series called Thirteen Reasons Why, a show about a young girl named Hannah Baker, who killed herself and left thirteen tapes behind, one for every person that caused her to do what she did. Alex plays as Clay Jensen, the love interest and coworker of Hannah, who got the tapes delivered by mail. He soon reunites with the other Reasons, only to go through several conflicts trying to discover the truth that everyone's hiding, usually to protect themselves from being responsible for Hannah's death.
Obviously characters with messed up personalities/complex can be likable. This film, however, failed to make me root for the protagonists. I just want them to all die. Especially, the main girl. I'm like, no lady, nothing can justify robbing a blind guy with no income. No matter how gross he is.
This is what bugs me most. Her family were millionaires. They had every resource at the tip of their fingers if they wanted to find her. They could hire PI's, search parties, FBI etc... Especially after winning a legal battle, it should've been obvious who took her.
It wouldn't be necessary; dogs have a membrane in their eyes called tapetum lucidum that magnifies light, giving them far better night vision than humans.
Hotwheels0185 Haha. I didn't mean light fixtures. I mean lights on or globes in the fixtures. Haha. That's a funny response. It's common knowledge that all houses are built with lights. I didn't think I would have to be more detailed with my comment. I really lol'd to that, thanks. 😂

Biggest sin of the movie: blind guy would be also deaf after the first shot. Shooting high-power gun without ear plugs _and_ muffs in such tight space means instant hearing loss or, at very least, impairment. (Edit: replies show that I'm not as smart as I thought I was.)
Assume that "Grimes gun" is .357 revolver. That gives us 165db bang. 9mm gun is a a bit more quiet - 160db. www.noisehelp.com/noise-dose.html 140 db - "no exposure", means that without hearing protection you are in for some permanent nerve damage. Firecrackers are 140-150 db, little bastard that went off just one foot away from my head gave me an impaired hearing for an hour, mild tinnitus for twenty years. Effect was such that I couldn't stop checking if I'm bleeding from the ear. 160db means ten times more power than 150db. I'd say that guarantees near total loss of hearing for some time and permanent partial loss. Effect could be alleviated since shooter is behind the gun and exhaust gasses move away from him, but in enclosed space sound wave will be reflected back to him with little to no loss. Repeated exposure will make the problem even worse. Plus, character is supposed to be Army veteran. Unless he was a pencil pusher there is at least a good chance of preexisting partial hearing loss, guarantee for grunt or artilleryman. He's old, in his time military wasn't big on occupational health and safety.
+Kurt Simmons Depends on propellant load, location and material of surrounding walls, maybe individual physiology and luck too. Usual effects are described here for example: www.asha.org/public/hearing/Recreational-Firearm-Noise-Exposure/ ... at very least I would expect "- AW FU.."

What I need answers to is, how did the blind man kidnap the women who killed his daughter? If he was blinded in the war, how did he know he kidnapped the right girl? Unless he's like John Kramer & has people working for him & then killed them to hide what he was really doing??
I can imagine that. - I'm really sorry for what happened sir, i would do anything to give you your daughter back but i can't. Old man- Are you sure about that?
What about the missing 10 sins that should have been there, for the "oh we have a perfect chance to MAKE SURE THE FUCKER IS DEAD before trying to escape, but nahhh let's just assume a fall down a short ladder was enough to kill him" cliche?
Ricky Bronze how about when they both go back upstairs and are both at the door at the same time which is impossible because you have to use a ladder to go up.

+The Angry American lmao you're an idiot when the dude was dragging the girl outside that wasn't a fucking blood trail it was the pavement patterns on the road from when people fill in cracks in the road.
The biggest sin...and the sin that's in pretty much every movie with firearms. Firing a weapon indoors without hearing protection will temporarily make you go deaf. Permanence is possible depending on caliber and how many times you repeatedly damage your eardrums. Yet, after multiple times firing his weapon indoors, everyone can still hear everything.
Yeah I saw it in the theatres...with my family...it wasn't a fun time. And yeah, that shot was waay too long. It's like the filmmakers were like "We REALLY want people to cringe at this."
Francesca Fay Man, I literally live on the East side of Detroit. If you're interested in it, I would recommend it. I personally liked this movie a lot, although it does have its issues. And I understand why people would dislike it.
Jackie Chan but then again. There's a bucket of semen laying around and Blood of the girl that was killed. I'm sure her DNA is all over the pillows and stuff too
The cops aren't looking for DNA evidence. They have all the bodies (as far as they know), and the only witness is the blind dude, who claims they broke in and he killed them in self defense. There's no reason to question his story, and they probably assumed as much just from investigating the scene itself. It looks like a simple open and shut case, and there is no reason to investigate further. They have no reason to do any DNA tests on any blood they find, as they have all the bodies. Not to mention that no DA would touch a case with no body, no clear crime to charge him with, and the man in question is a former vet who lost a child and was brutalized and robbed in a home invasion. He'd get laughed out of court, and the blind guy could probably get all his money back in a counter suit for harassment. Heck, even if the police saw this entire movie, a half decent lawyer could make a compelling case for innocent for reason of insanity...
Kelly M Kinda sad when we're rooting for Mr. Blind Turkey-semen. But Hollywood forgot that scary things are scary when the people going through it are relatable.
This is something that happens just way to much in horror. Dozens upon dozens of guys (and certain types of women) die but the young virgin-esque girl survives it all somehow(meaning plot armor).
+1 for him leaving the dog in the trunk. The biggest sin is the house being a scene of a double homicide.. cops don't find hostage rape lab in basement.
If you've seen the movie. He gets rid of the body of the pregnant lady, but he does still keep the harness. So, there is no proof he used it, but there is no proof he didn't use it.
What about the scene where he notices the extra pair of shoes, signifying there was another person, a girl specifically, in the house. Yet the cops didn't find those same shoes?
When the gun is out of ammo, the gun would be locked back, easily indicating it's out of ammo. Also, why would he have a newspaper that he wouldn't be able to read anyways. How would he know which newspaper its from, or what page it's on? 2 SINS!

I love this cinema logic, where every blind person has superpowers, making their ears become advance sonar sistems that allows them to see or sense everything in their surroundings, instead of being people who has their actions very, very limited because of... You know, because they can't see shit and their other senses are normal...
Considering sin 55, this blind man only has those sonar sistem ears when the script wants him to have. Seriously, if he is guided by audition and whatnot, how would he miss Alex so close?!
It's also a lot easier to hone your other senses if you've been lacking in one (in this case, sight) since birth or early childhood, since it'd likely be the only way you know how to live. Most people would be very capable of functioning without sight, but it takes a hell of a long time to adapt- shit, even then, they're still not going to be Literal Jesus like this guy unless he's got a secret thing he eats/drinks/snorts that gives him super badass powers and shit
I think they get the idea from those stories that pop up every few years of a blind person that can do that quasi-echolocation shit. But even they need to be making some kind of sound to figure out where things are
When you lack a sense for an extended period of time, such as sight, the one you rely on the most after that one, which for most is hearing, it gets better. Just like how people who can't hear very well get very good at reading lips.
Ricardo Fernandez Torres just like horror movies where demons have the power to kill people and do magic stuff while the ppl in heaven are just sitting on their porch with popcorn
What happened to the lady he had wouldn’t he be suspicious if they found the lady that went missing for months or weeks “oh the robbers must have just brought her to his house to rob him”
If I'm not mistaken he has a very convenient storage spot in the floor of the basement where he puts her body. That being said the cops SHOULD have looked around for anything that was out of place, like her blood and DNA being everywhere, looked around more and found the storage space, realised the connection between the old man and the missing girl, and put the old man behind bars. Actually since she went missing after accidentally killing his daughter he would have been a big person of interest. Really this whole movie could have been avoided by good detective work.
This lady went missing but the guy that got his daughter killed by her is totaly unsuspicious and there is totaly no reason to search his house or something
Boss General I'm so happy that somebody uses good, well developed killers in comparison to other "realistic like" films, which have no sense and too many plot holes/errors
FYI, Jason and other meme killers in movies are bad, as is this movie's killer. The difference is that meme killers like Jason are more of a parody and a joke. There is nothing to be taken seriously about my comment.
I dunno I found it interesting. But I'm also twisted in my thinking and have always wondered why Horror movies don't stray into this level of discomfort often.
You're not twisted. I understand exactly how you feel. It does seem like a lot of horror films these days do try to hold back on being scary. So, I give this movie credit for going all out.
I do give this movie credit for being different. I just felt like it was uncomfortable for the sake of being uncomfortable. I don't fault anyone for enjoying it, though.
0:40 During my first time watching this, I made the mistake of trying to copy Jeremy, but I ended up saying, "He's eating an asshole to make him look like even more of an apple." PLEASE tell me you people have done the same thing.
+broderick kurtz I've been playing the Dead Space games for years, I don't really find the series scary anymore. Disgusting semen basters are a different matter however
Interestingly: this is loosely based on a real event, a veteran soldier murdered two teens that broke into his house, you can find the audio of the teens being shot point-blank and him talking on TH-cam. You're welcome.
Diamond, I was thinking the same thing. I think it was the cousins Nick Brady and Haile you're referring to. I can say I felt bad somewhat for the old dude that was protecting himself after he had some guns stolen in a previous burglary. Can't say the same for those two criminals though.
Also I'm just tired of movies (and TV shows/books/etc) having the "I no longer believe in God so I can do whatever horrible things I want to now" cliché. Can't writers come up with more original reasons for why villains do what they do? And reasons that don't popularize the myth that atheism leads to people losing their morality?
Why the heck did the cops never investigate him over that girl's disappearance? I mean, he's clearly suspect number one. Also, was he really going to let her go after she gave him a kid? Because if she did, she'd definitely go straight to the cops, at which point he'd never see (or, visit) his new child again.
Stephen T He's a blind man. How often have you heard of a blind man kidnapping and killing someone? How logical is that? He'd be #1 if he wasn't an invalid.
Still, even if we're going under the assumption that a blind man couldn't possibly kidnap someone, he still could've murdered her. Or paid someone to do it for him. Whether he's blind or not, this guy is clearly someone they should've investigated.
Stephen T There is no feasible way a blind old man could do that. You're not thinking about this in the realm of human capabilities. 1.)A blind feable old man would find it very difficult to locate someone. 2.)A blind old man would have to see her schedule which is also imposible. She lives no where near him. He doesn't know her address. 3.)He would have to properly drive or hide her body. Know who's around to conduct his plan. Impossible. 4.)Be able to find someone off the street to help him. Blind man can't just read a list of men for hire. The only posibilites would be him hiring someone. But they have no leads. He might have been questioned yes. But he really wouldn't be considered seeing as he has little ability to actually do something. Once more think about the list of completely blind old men who have committed crimes.
The police normally investigate anyone who would have even a slight motivation to commit the crime, even if there's little chance of them being able to do it. Besides, if this girl was as rich as they said she was, the police would've left no stone unturned in their investigation. When a rich child goes missing, the police stop at nothing to find out who it was. Even if they personally thought that there was no way the blind man could've done it, they still would've investigated him just to examine all possibilities.
Stephen T I see they would have interviewed him but he wouldn't be a suspect. When the police refer to a suspect they look for people with the capabilities. The blind man severely lacked that. He could have been interviewed yes. But remember this is a wealthy family. They have probably stepped on other people's toes. One's more affluent than the blind old man. The police weigh capabilities in picking suspects. Just because you were questioned doesn't make you a suspect. He's not prime suspect material.

The point is...its not "military time" its just the 24 hour clock. regardless of if you talk in "am/pm" or if youre facetiously saying "are you really gonna say twenty three fifteen yadda yadda" its actually used in a lot of other areas, such as medicine, to remove any ambiguity in documentation. its the most commonly used time notation system in the world. but yeah, because the states calls it "military time" lets get all pissy about it and call people out over it because they made a quite frankly fair observation

Obviously characters with messed up personalities/complex can be likable. This film, however, failed to make me root for the protagonists. I just want them to all die. Especially, the main girl. I'm like, no lady, nothing can justify robbing a blind guy with no income. No matter how gross he is.

Everyone is missing the biggest sin:
How did a blind guy manage to kidnap that girl? and also not be the first suspect after she went missing?
This is what bugs me most. Her family were millionaires. They had every resource at the tip of their fingers if they wanted to find her. They could hire PI's, search parties, FBI etc... Especially after winning a legal battle, it should've been obvious who took her.
Well, the first question kind of answers the second.
When a movie successfully makes something as simple as a turkey baster disturbing, you know you're in for a ride
Jerrie the claun disturbing? Thought that was hilarious, this movie was not disturbing.

Why does a blind person have lights at all? The place should always be in darkness.
It wouldn't be necessary; dogs have a membrane in their eyes called tapetum lucidum that magnifies light, giving them far better night vision than humans.
because all houses are built with lights because contractors dont know if a blind person is going to buy the house

Temporary or permanent?
Temporary or permanent?
Assume that "Grimes gun" is .357 revolver. That gives us 165db bang.
9mm gun is a a bit more quiet - 160db.
www.noisehelp.com/noise-dose.html
140 db - "no exposure", means that without hearing protection you are in for some permanent nerve damage.
Usual effects are described here for example: www.asha.org/public/hearing/Recreational-Firearm-Noise-Exposure/

What I need answers to is, how did the blind man kidnap the women who killed his daughter? If he was blinded in the war, how did he know he kidnapped the right girl? Unless he's like John Kramer & has people working for him & then killed them to hide what he was really doing??
My guess is that she was on a guilt trip and went to visit him (hadn't told anyone else) and he sort of did it on a whim.

There is a part where they are all fighting in the basement where he fires the revolver near her and she is vividly stunned for awhile
The movie makes a point about how the gunshots are very loud though
Holy fuck. I nearly puked at the "choking on his own jizz" thing.

Jackie Chan It's called Detroit
Jackie Chan but then again. There's a bucket of semen laying around and Blood of the girl that was killed. I'm sure her DNA is all over the pillows and stuff too
Plus she's a missing person.

Most people would be very capable of functioning without sight, but it takes a hell of a long time to adapt- shit, even then, they're still not going to be Literal Jesus like this guy
unless he's got a secret thing he eats/drinks/snorts that gives him super badass powers and shit

4:40 that is how a tattoo of this size looks after one day. Pretty accurate
Phone buzzes ARE that loud on a hardwood floor in the middle of the night.
M.I. Wright *ESPECIALLY FROM A BLIND PERSONS PERSPECTIVE* I thought that one didn't deserve the sin for it has logic
Good point
Many sins in this where not actual sins. But thats how Cinemasins works a big number of their sins dont make sense.
He could have also felt the vibration thru his feet.
Wonderlandian is probably in purpose because in one of his vids he says that these vids are not serious and more of a joke
At 0:36 there is a mistake in the subtitles. Instead of "them to get arrested" they put "them get arrested"

During my first time watching this, I made the mistake of trying to copy Jeremy, but I ended up saying,
"He's eating an asshole to make him look like even more of an apple."
PLEASE tell me you people have done the same thing.
Yep!
Ate an asshole? Yes
Redmond Silverfield said
Lol
Redmond Silverfield don't you hate looking more like an apple?
Part with the jizz nearly made me vomit
Gaelynn Hartmann IKR, it was fucking unsettling.
Gaelynn Hartmann if that almost made you vomit. I don't think you understand the horror of your profile pic.
Gaelynn Hartmann yeah, that part is so sick
+broderick kurtz I've been playing the Dead Space games for years, I don't really find the series scary anymore. Disgusting semen basters are a different matter however
I choose to believe its really room temperture Ranch and the blind guy is just a not so practical joker....surely.
I'm taking a sin off for the phone vibrating... i once had a mobile phone that sounded like a pneumatic drill!
Interestingly: this is loosely based on a real event, a veteran soldier murdered two teens that broke into his house, you can find the audio of the teens being shot point-blank and him talking on TH-cam. You're welcome.
Wait this on the ID channel
Diamond, I was thinking the same thing. I think it was the cousins Nick Brady and Haile you're referring to. I can say I felt bad somewhat for the old dude that was protecting himself after he had some guns stolen in a previous burglary. Can't say the same for those two criminals though.
Wait what about the artificially inseminating
It’s not murder if it’s self defense
@Nicholas Zielonko That is self defence
Also I'm just tired of movies (and TV shows/books/etc) having the "I no longer believe in God so I can do whatever horrible things I want to now" cliché. Can't writers come up with more original reasons for why villains do what they do? And reasons that don't popularize the myth that atheism leads to people losing their morality?
I'm an atheist and I didn't get that vibe from the movie. I can see your point now that you mention it, but most movie villains tend to be believers.
loner1878 what movies? Villains tend to be immoral monsters or illogical while the person that warns the protagonists about them is a believer.
sonofaballer96 I'd say there's plenty where the villains are religious, granted its made clear they aren't "really" believers.
>myth
You mean intellectually honest conclusion? Without God there is no rational reason to believe in any morality, only practical reasons.
How do you even know this guy ever believed in god?
He's not prime suspect material.
ngl I almost vomited at the "choking on the turkey baster" scene. not because of the turkey baster, but because of what was in it. oh god, I'm retching just thinking about it

Straik Night honestly I have no clue. Don't look at Statiq's conversation though. He's a complete bigot. XDD
Straik Night Because they have nothing better to do then call people who use am pm time retards?
He just happened to have a sheet of plywood the exact size of the broken window. Who the hell has that. You didn't pick up on it either. That's a cinema sin for cinemasins.

"Rocky has tremendous trouble leaving va situation when has the chance " this statement is so freaking true
Military time? I thought that was normal, i know USA has a pm am system but in Europe its just 24-clock
But we still talk in PM/AM
Not the tower clock (Big Ben). In your conversations is this normal..."Hey it's twenty-three-fifteen, we need to be there by twenty-three forty-five." ? Just curious, Thanks.
@@nunya___ Yes, atleast in Finland that's a very common way to state the time. Especially amongst younger people
@@bigdog91paper despite to the fact that the USA exists less than 500 years, you forgetting the Chinese dynasties, who even built a fucking huge ass wall. I'd call that very much nationalistic

I didn't really feel phased by the man juice blaster. All these years of being on TH-cam has made me officially a desensitized sociopath.

Swedish_Steel Everyone I've ever met outside of USA uses military time hahaha
yeah true, "military time" that's just normal time for us :D
My iPhone IN the States was automatically set to military time, and I saw no reason to change it because it's a lot easier to understand. :P
yeah , i hate the am and pm
Americans don't use 24 hour clocks?
Adam S I mean you can if you want. it just we were taught that since school and just stayed with. I don't know why this comment section is having debate which one is best like it really matters lol
Adam S Nah
Dang didn't no dat I use 24 hr clock
+c.lewis
Because most people from Europe haven't seen a digital clock with a 12-hour system in their whole life. I mean honestly, it doesn't make much sense to use it for digital clocks (first, it is harder to confuse anything with the 24-hour system, secondly, 13:25 needs five digits, 1:25 pm needs six, 1:25 p.m. needs eight)
Adam S
Most do not no.
