    Looks great & a good alternative to the twin in-tank pumps of Project No Secrets (although I think I prefer the twin tank pumps)... Can't wait to see the updates, great work as always Andrew!! 😃👌🏻

    For extra neatness if you want cut the yellow or blue insulation off the insulated terminal eyelets, crimp the terminal onto your wiring then fit black heatshrink over where you crimp. Makes “insulated” terminals look so much neater

    I don't know mate, a couple of neons and it could be Autosalon worthy! Lol.
    Clean install mate. Nice work. I like how you modified the perspex cover and wrapped the roll cage. It's definitely satisfying to stand back and admire your own handy work.

    Don't worry about internet experts telling you that you did it wrong, either it works or it doesn't. It's a race car that you're actively developing, if you did it wrong you'll find out and then fix it! 🙂

    • @Matty.Hill_87
      @Matty.Hill_87 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's all that matters at the end of the day.. Something can look as stupid as you want but if it works it don't matter, it's when it looks stupid and doesn't work that you need to re evaluate things 🤣🤣

    • @Matty.Hill_87
      @Matty.Hill_87 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I lost and exhaust bolt on my old car that joins the back box to the centre section, I improvised with a bolt and nut from a flat pack wardrobe... Looked stupid but it did its job 🤣🤣

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      you do realise what its for right? its to provide a protective strip over buts of roll cage so it doesnt get scratched while getting in and oit and working on the car.
      the carbon tubes are over $100 a meter.
      the vinyl does same job, cost way less, looks the same, weighs less and quicker and easier to replace if damaged.
      youre welcome for that info

    I had a huge delay because Walbro didn't want to ship internationally because USPS was losing orders and Australia didn't have the pump I wanted. I just spoke to them this week directly and now getting my 350lph (an upgrade on the 255) pump and assembly kit for the Crustida next week using FedEx for shipping. 😎👍

    You should also do a second bypass return on the flex fuel sensor, or do you think a single -6an is enough for your return? PHR does a nice piece! EDIT, I see you dont need one as its just going to the Surge tank, nice! You should get rid of the spare wheel well/tub!

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      we need big -8 return as mechanical fuel pump flows a LOT and dont want to restrict it

    • @BUZDRIFT

      @@MotiveVideo Yeah thought so! the 6s just for the surge

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yea. feed to engine is -10 and return -8 off a FPR2000 which is -8

    • @BUZDRIFT
      @BUZDRIFT 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MotiveVideo Yep got the same reg, I got a fuel cooler near the surge tank and 2x -8an merging to a -12an then to 2x -8an at the rail feeds the a -8an return which goes through a cooler which is a Derale 15300 with 4 Computer 12v fans, but I ended up doing a flex fuel sensor bypass so that there's no restriction on the return, must admit the method you guys went with is better for the flex fuel sensor and cheaper lol

    I've never noticed the bars in the boot . What's the idea behind that ? Theres nothing important back there to warrant extra strength in my opinion. Or is it a mount for a parachute?

    No parrot beak cutters for the fuel line? (I learned that on Skid Factory) ;)

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      good ones are expensive and we dont use them enough to make it worth it: they can also crush the line as you cut and fray the ends. the tape and grinder technique always works

    Why not fit the flex sensor on the return between the reg and the surge?

    • @MotiveVideo
      @MotiveVideo  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The mechanical pump flows a LOT and we have a 2000hp rated -8 fuel reg to help return that flow so we dont get a big build up in pressure. The Flex Fuel sensor is smaller than -6, so if we put it in return from the front it would restrict flow and cause a spike in fuel pressure and stop the regulator from being able to do its job.
