Genius! I've been knitting for 65 years, have wonderful tension (she said, modestly) and write my own patterns all the time, but there have been gaps in my knowledge that I wasn't even aware of until easy access to videos came my way. One is a steek, currently being worked on, another was wrapped stitches for short rows, mastered recently, but then you come along with your itty bitty 2 years' experience and squeaky wool and simply blow me away with your mitred corner technique!!! Thanks so much for overcoming your nerves and making the video. I now feel the need to drop everything and have a go!
A little tip for you (which I got from my mother, so you get an idea of how old it is) is to stick your needles through your hair occasionally. They pick up the tiniest amount of your natural oils, not enough to see or feel, but enough to act as a barrier to the sweat that causes the squeak with acrylic wool on steel needles.
Needless to say, I've subscribed! X

alakev alakev It's an invisible amount, but it does the trick. An even better solution is to use stainless steel needles which have never squeaked on me. Worth the few extra pennies.

Dear Nervous Knitter -- THANK YOU so much. I have spent hours trying to make a mitered corner. The best parts of what you did here are that you didn't race through the process and you repeated it so many times for those of us who are even more nervous about trying this technique.

Thank you for the clear instructions for making a mitered corner . Although I have been knitting for some years, I've only done quick easy projects. Now that I've retired, have more time and wanted to finally make some of the patterns I never had the time nor nerve to try to do. Through clear instructions like yours, I'm finally understanding what I needed to know. Thanks for completely walking me through the mitered corner, it then made complete sense to me. Keep up the good work.

I think you just invented a new stitch with the knit two together, hold on needle, flip right needle to go down back of k2g, and then slide the stitch of on the right needle, knit the first stitch and yarn next to it. That's a lot. Thank goodness you made a video. You should name that process.

I was determined I would get going on a ten stitch to use up my small balls of yarn. I am patient and love to learn no skills but I thought I was going to give it up entirely. Thank heavens, after downloading three versions of the pattern I could not make any sense of and watching at least a dozen TH-cams - I eventually found you. You have produced first class videos in a language I can understand. I have lost count of the number of times I have unravelled my yarn and started again. So often that the first ball had do go to the bin as it was in a sorry state! Thank you so much for sharing your skills in this way. I have been knitting for over forty years and never have had as much difficulty with a pattern. Here you are and after two years you have been able to get this technique, Improve on the method of the turns and vastly improve on the method of joining, you are a real star and you are a talented knitter and teacher. No need for you to be nervous about anything in knitting or demonstrating. I have reworked patterns myself and rewritten sections after translating them into my own kind of English! I know well the hours you put in to succeed with these reworks. You are so generous with your time and your talent too and for that I am very grateful.

So much easier! I was reluctant to try the 10 stitch blanket because I didn't like the obvious ridge. Your way looks so much better and more finished. I'm using my massive stash of LB Homespun and it is so soft and squishy.Thank you thank you thank you!

You did so well explaining! I was getting lost with the wrap and turn as well, so I'm really glad you made this video! Thank you so much! I'm trying my hand at a blanket for the first time, so it's a huge learning experience!

Charlotte, you are a great demonstrator for showing knitting. So easy to "get it" because of your showing every step. Love your videos. Oh, I hate wraps too. They confuse me.

Wanted to inform you, I finally knitted my first ten stitch blanket. You were one of the few that inspired and your videos helped me. Would like to show you the pics, but don't know how to post them.

Yours are honestly my favorite knitting videos by far. I'm a crocheter and knitting does not come naturally to me, so your clear instructions and tips are SO helpful. Thank you so much!!!

I absolutely hate wrap and turns, I hate most methods of short rows. But this... THIS might be the answer I've been looking for. I hope it works for turning a heel on socks. 😀

I found this on accident looking at 10-stitch using looms, which I finally figured out after finding someone that explained it so well. I've wanted to try knitting since elementary school...looong time ago...when I was taught but never did after my friends aunt went back to England. Because of this video I ordered some needles and going to give it another shot. Hope it's really as easy as you make it look!

Thank you so much for uploading this, I've been trying to wrap w&t around my head for weeks now and I barely understand it. This makes way more sense and won't have that annoying bump.

I tried to make this blanket with the help of a dozen videos and written instructions ... everybody had their own technique ... so therefore, the yarn and patterns have been stuffed in the corner of my sewing area for a 2 month timeout! I don't mind the ridge that is created in the joins, but I kept ending up with holes that bugged me. I even found a Tunisian crochet pattern that was easy and beautiful ... but again, the holes in the corners. Your version is genius ... thank you so much. I'm just finding and viewing your videos this morning, and I'm pulling my yarn back out of the corner!! Bless you!!
