This is the Liverpool I fell in love with.. Would you ever see a player in the era of money and mercenaries run like that to stop the ball from going out of play and then running back to beat his man to it and dribble a few more... Class...
I actually didn't realize he was that talented even though I knew he is an LFC legend. That header against Everton, ..... 👌🏽 You just don't see players that gifted no more... They are too strategically robotic nowadays. The football back then was bliss. ⚽🌎
Fantastic player,my greatest memory of Steve was his unfettered and ambitious attempt to retrieve that ball against Arsenal which looked like a lost cause, but won the ball to create a goal. Also his marvellous goal against man u/fa from long distance in 88.
You think of all the talent that’s has come out of this country. If this was Brazil Italy Germany etc etc they would be remembered for times to come just an amazing hard skilful player
I was on holiday years ago to York. Steve was on the same holiday. The hotel organised a cruise on the river Ouse & the Mersey beats were playing live onboard. We both got into each others company & had a few drinks. At the end of the night they played YNWA & both of us took to the dance floor. The only ones on the floor singing. It was a great holiday
I swear down, him and Paul Parker were my idols during Italy 90. Real unsung heroes!!!!! Loved it when he and others burnt a copy of the sun newspaper in front of media after they accused members of the Italy 90 squad of (basically) raping a hotel maid. Quality player and a quality man - AFC fan.
@@niloc1973 why am I a novice????? Been watching football for well over 40years. Bobby Robson, Graham Taylor, and Graham Souness had my opinion as well. Just lucky to play in a fantastic liverpool side, because he certainly didn't do anything before or after liverpool.
@@petemitchel5622 Well it ain't Tennis,Every team needs a McMahon like Barcelona needed a Basquets and Real Madrid a Casemiro and the list goe's on...........YNWA
A great player. Excellent vision. Thunderous shot and as hard as nails. Legend
But not a patch on Brian Robson.
@@petemitchel5622 Captain Marvel?! hahaha

What a player Steve McMahon was wish we had a Steve McMahon type in the middle of the field now .instead we've got blooming keita 🙄YNWA
McMahon would go straight in to liverpools midfield now 2022..legend
Hard as Nails Talented Legend
I used to despise this guy back in the day.🤣😂
He had some great battles with our Brian Robson.
Proper hard men.
I met him today (Liverpool v Real Madrid) and had to come back to look at some videos to see how he played :)
Liverpool had so many great players back then: Barnes, McMahon, Hansen, Beardsley..the list goes on..
I met Stephen once and he is really funny and is a nice guy
An absolute legend and heartbeat of that great 80's team
Best CM Duo
1985-91
McMahon - Molby
1978-83
Souness - McDermott

Amazing player if keita reaches these heights I will be a very happy man🤩
LOL
Macca the legend 🔥
He is my distant cousin
Never understood why he didn't get picked more for England.
I'll tell you, he was fabulously overrated.
Bryan Robson - Captain Marvel and all that.
@petemitchel5622 Video and comments from a plethora of reds suggest otherwise.
Great clip ✌️👍👍

A great player. At his peak almost in the class of Gerry Gow.
