This is why Fire Safety should not be taken for granted. Everyone should always be aware of potential Fires and have Fire prevention materials in there home or building.
Condolences to the family of the deceased. May they rest in peace and perpetual light shine upon them forever. May all those injured be given strength and recover with great haste. In the name of the Father son and holy spirit Amen.
The city need to do more to educate its citizens not to feed the fire, this is crucial when trying to contain damage. close doors and windows as much as you can.
They need to upgrade the apartment doors in NYC to automatically shut when you leave the apartment. This is not the 1st time a door was left open in an apartment fire in NYC. The building where I live in Pittsburgh, they changed the doors to shut behind you. They changed this YEARS ago. You would have to prop the door in order for it to stay open.

@@Slayer-33 The trapped occupants were at widows at the rear of the building, therefore inaccessible by aerial or tower ladder. I saw a video clip on another station that showed a victim being lowered from the 6th floor. A general rule of thumb is to figure 10 feet for each story. The longest portable extension ladder that the FDNY carries are 35'. A 35' ladder will reach the 3rd floor *provided* that the building doesn't have a depressed courtyard, which many of these "H-type" multiple dwellings do. Therefore a 35' portable extension ladder may not reach the 3rd floor in some circumstances. Rope rescues are the last resort. They were not always the last resort. They became the last resort when the FDNY did away with the Atlas Life Saving Machine, more commonly known as the Life Net. The FDNY also did away with scaling ladders years ago.
@@azul8811 This must have been terrifying AF. Don't get me wrong I understand yes, ropes are a thing for rescues, it's just I'd imagine it would be unnerving as hell lol

Praying all victims make a full recovery. God bless and protect all first responders.
Thank you for your service.
These building apartments are old as the hills. Failing inspections cover ups. All about laziness and money they don't pay to fix.😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

That Proby has nerves of steel.
FDNY are the best. Saved my life in 2020 ❤
TTHANK YOU GOV FOR NOT TAKING THE TIME TO INSPECT THE BUILDINGS
Anthony Carlo loves the Catalina Wine Mixer. POW!
Someone was probably smoking, probably has nothing to do with the building
Excellent reporting 👏 never mentioned what the device was! Was it a Chinese e bike in his living room that exploded?
