Chris I fished the Grantown Association water many years ago, when it was a £10 for the week. One of my favourite pools was the Junction pool with the Dulnane mouth, with the Spey, A bit further up from pool 20 were you were fishing, A good pool for salmon to rest. Give it a try if you fish the Spey again.
Yet another Sunday cracker! Chris, please don't have your rucksack strap over your lifejacket, if the lifejacket went off it would not be pretty - stay safe 😉
They are beautiful coloured trout off the spey aren't they. I've often driven past parts of the association water but never fished it. Is it right bank only there?
Erm I can't remember, but there are 11 miles.of fishing in the association water available on day and week tickets. Just search Strathspey Angling Improvement Association SAIA in Google for all the details
@@CornishChrisTheFish thanks I will have a look. Wanting to try fishing a bit more on the spey I had two days at the end of April at middle brae and lower brae but alas only a trout to show for it.
@@Hardlinesangling so that's Middle and Lower at Gordon Castle? Out of all their beats, the best is Castle Water in my opinion as is the ghillie and the hut
@CornishChrisTheFish yes it was those two beats. Hopefully I will be back next year to fish all of them over the course of a week. I could only do two days this year and it happened to be those beats on those days.
The association water featured, which is over fished and not very good, I spent years salmon fishing and wasted a lot of time there, if you want to catch a salmon on a fly there are better places even though they may be from rivers not as strongly associated with fly fishing for salmon as the Spey is, I would try the Tay for starters. Good luck.
Thank you Chris. First time I’ve actually seen this water. Looking forward to following in your footsteps in a couple of weeks.
How did you get on at Tweedswood, I was there tiday myself, nothing showing?
Waow 👍👍
