I was fishing in the gloaming one night on the Leven at Loch Lomond a few years back and I heard a crashing on the other side. At first I thought it was a deer or a badger, but then a beaver popped out of the undergrowth and into the river. I got out as fast as I could because I know that they can be vicious little buggers. There was a guy in Belarus who was attacked by one that bit into an artery and he bled out, so if you do see one then do what you can to stay as far away from it as possible. They might look cute, but those teeth can take a living tree down, and they will have no trouble biting through your waders.
Another great video Chris, looked like a beautiful spot plus laughing away at those endless Beaver jokes! Tight Lines - Surely it's time for another fish?!
Great vid. I've got the pdaa ticket and will get on the earn August onwards. Finally some rain today however rain needed to be yesterday. A blank on the Ericht today apart from trout. This rain will bring fish up loch lomond into the endrick. Also the odd salmon might enter the stinchar hopefully. The cree has had a few springers and both these south west rivers should fish well from now on.
I see theo had the time of his life three days of running around in and out of the water. Bit of a shame you didn't land any fish but it looked like a lovely place to fish there is still plenty of time to land some big fish keep on with the good job
Nice video- never fished the Earn-walked some of the bank a couple of times; you had an attractive beat but it looks from Fishpal that it's a September/October beat if anything. Incredible isn't it that we have River Trusts planting trees/fencing to stabilise banks, concentrate flow and shade water and other publicly/charitably funded bodies casually tossing in beavers to chop them down. From what I have seen beaver dams simply create areas of 'dead water' on streams and will probably cause bank erosion as water seeks other courses, with silting in the dead areas which will NOT assist spawning. But what do I know ?
Hi Tom yes you are right in both counts. My friend Chris invited me for a week early season on the Earn but really it is known as a back end river. But who can pass up a few free days eh? Beavers seem to be a nightmare wherever they are introduced, can't think why anyone would do this on purpose 🤔
Late Summer back end beats Chris I guessed right away it would be a blank day for you, the Earn is a shadow of its former self, it was also one of the best Seatrout Rivers in Scotland at one time.
Good job you never caught a male salmon otherwise you would have had a cock and a beaver in the same video 😂😂. Looks a lovely bit of water again everywhere is low atm so cant swing the fly in many pools.
Yes Chris, I can't get my head around Beavers ( animal Beavers) Hear we are planting trees for conversation and there they are eating through the trees like there is no tomorrow.
Hey Chris another great video. Did I imagine it or did you have something to be able to buy you a coffee? How do you like the shakespeare rod after using the guiedline rod a couple of videos ago?
Those flys look pretty big chris. I'd be looking at fishing size 10-14 on the smaller rivers as it heats up.
Great advice 👍
Another amazing video mate!
Cheers 🍻
Good video - chance of a springer on the earn these days akin to catching a unicorn
Thanks 👍 the chance of a springer on any river is tough at the moment
Hi had a nice 8lbs fish at Ladykirk on the Tweed on Saturday. I have a syndicate rod there it was my first of the season.
Hey well done! Ladykirk is fishing really well at the moment 👌

My friend Mats in Sweden sent me some photos of beavers killed in Sweden, they are huge and massive teeth quite scary really 😳

Thanks Chris, i will take a look at the Cree when I return in June 👍

Yes so it would appear, it was very generous of my host to let me come and fish it for free for 3 days so I can't complain too much 👍

Hi, thanks that is very kind. If you go to the About section of my channel I think it is there. 👍
