well when gravity has no hold on you, i imagine its a lot easier. when moving polnareff he probably floated down, still sitting in that pose while The World moved polnareff as he simply levitated closer to allow The World to reach polnareff.
Much as I love the original flamboyant, over the top, memetastic Jojo, I wouldn't mind if someone took another stab at a more horror orientated interpretation of the series like the original OVAs did.

This version of Dio didn't have the amazing voice actor, but this depiction makes him much more menacing. He used the world three times just to torture some old politician. Hierophant green looks way better too. While the OVA didn't feel much like the source material (which the David production anime translated really well into animation) it still looked incredible.
I really love how the OVA portrays the Emerald Splash, here it actually looks like the Senator's car is being shot at by a machine gun, the DP anime adaptation makes it look less dangerous.
Are we gonna talk about how much cooler that Hierophant Green is in the OVA? I like the sound effect when it charges emerald splash, and the fact that it glows up, not to mention that it actually makes the emerald splash look like an actual formidable ability, in the anime it was just "EMERALDO SPLASHU" and emeralds flying everywhere, but in the OVA they fire off like a fully automatic lazer rifle or something and it's awesome
It's a shame the Sidewalk scene was cut entirely, we only get the implication of what happened instead which I feel really reduces the impact of the Senator's affirmation for his life afterwards.

One of the details I love in this version of the scene compared to the newer one is the sequence where the senator keeps trying to run away and ending up back in the car. The way he actually runs a little ways away from it before tripping back into it here is a really fun visual effect compared to just instantly popping back into spot. It’s a lot more disorienting to watch and idk it’s just a really nice execution of the idea
What I love so much about ova DIO is that he is sort of a mixture of DIO's character in part 3 and in part 6, he keeps the calm sophistication of stone ocean DIO while retaining the power and sheer presence that stardust crusaders DIO has. The ova is my preferred version of sc in terms of visuals.
I feel if that 2007 Phantom Blood Movie did a bit better and wasn't lost to the ages we would have gotten something like that eventually, Although in a timeline like that I'd probably wager David Production never become the JoJo powerhouse they would eventually become.
What makes this scene so jaw droppingly Terrifying is that Dio doesn't take pleasure from killing mowing down innocent people. He only just smirks when tormenting senator Philips.

This ova doesn't have as much style as the new series, but I love the late 80s/early 90s aesthetic. That and the animation is beautiful, they didn't cheap out.
Also epic that Dio stops it with one finger flick....he flicked one emerald, breaking it into three and pinballing the shards into the others in such a way they were all directed away from him, rather than individually punching them like he does in the anime.
Really loving how the OVA captures DIO's cruelty in such a way to where it made me wanna forcibly skip some scenes. Especially the part with him making the senator drive on the sidewalk for his own amusement; especially driving him insane. Very cool DIO!
I love this one so much better than the newer Anime. Not only is it more aesthetically pleasing, but the Animation style is a lot more easier on the eyes. Also the way they approach the storyline in this OVA mini-series is so much less silly and over the top in comparison, but that's just me.
Imagine you're the senator and some 6'5 body builder mangles your driver and everytime you try to escape you end up back in the car. Its like some kind of horror film without the jumpscare
What I like better about the OVA is how the animation is so much better and there's little dramatic music. The stands seem much more real and creepy because of that.
I honestly think this version of jojo deverses it's own universe. I think two versions of jojo wouldn't be that bad, a more bizarre version that focuses more on the art and a more gritty version that focuses on the fighting.
The creepyness of dios ability down here tho is thousand times more scary then the one in the 2012 version Like seriously holy shit it makes DIO look like an unstoppable god compared to the bass fart we got in the modern version

The eldest has not been active lately, and the one without the moustache has taken the spotlight these days. I would have mistaken the one without the mustache as the original had I been new too, but the one with the mustache had long been present from a time beyond measure. *sighs* Both are ubiquitous beyond our imaginations, and I do not know much about their origins as well- there's too little information regarding them. So I suggest bowing whenever anyone comes across them to pay homage.

I love how every stand powers looks so much strong before actually explaining the actual powers and Iove the fact that dio is basically stopping time then carrying the senator in his arms and dropping of in the car . Then he just precede to continue the time and than sit in the exact same position he was sitting .
I can see Dio letting the senator live just because his life after running over all of those people is going to be a lot worse than a quick death. You can tell Dio is having fun getting out of the car, moving Senator Phillips to the other side of the road, and getting back into the car during time stop
I really like this version. Maybe even a little more than the updated one. It gives alot more realism with it. Especially throwing hierophant green around on cars and people actually freak tf out about it because they cant see him and its not a normal thing. Where as in the newer, aside from those who are in direct proximity with the main cast, the crowd may sometimes stop to observe this injured person whos struggling with air while random shit is just flying and they say nothing.
I actually got into JoJo because of the ova. I love the more subdued, grim tone of this adaptation, honestly really sad this studio didn't adapt more parts. Hope we'll get to see the Phantom Blood movie one day.

Wow, that's amazing I didn't know that another version of Jojo exists. I see that a lot of people in the comments are saying that they like this one more so I think I will give a try later, but I'm not gonna lie. The seriousness and cold blood show here makes me think "ah, this show must be very good!", but it doesn't strike me like the current Jojo version that I'm watching, that just grabbed my attention and I continue watching because of how very unique it is. (And I love the colors pallets changes, voice acting over the top and meme material haha).

Really loving how the OVA captures DIO's cruelty in such a way to where it made me wanna forcibly skip some scenes. Especially the part with him making the senator drive on the sidewalk for his own amusement; especially driving him insane. Very cool DIO!

I love this one so much better than the newer Anime. Not only is it more aesthetically pleasing, but the Animation style is a lot more easier on the eyes. Also the way they approach the storyline in this OVA mini-series is so much less silly and over the top in comparison, but that's just me.

Imagine you're the senator and some 6'5 body builder mangles your driver and everytime you try to escape you end up back in the car. Its like some kind of horror film without the jumpscare
What I like better about the OVA is how the animation is so much better and there's little dramatic music. The stands seem much more real and creepy because of that.
The OVA might have taken itself too seriously and missed that "Jojo-ness", but the animation was fucking top notch
I honestly think this version of jojo deverses it's own universe. I think two versions of jojo wouldn't be that bad, a more bizarre version that focuses more on the art and a more gritty version that focuses on the fighting.

I love how every stand powers looks so much strong before actually explaining the actual powers and Iove the fact that dio is basically stopping time then carrying the senator in his arms and dropping of in the car . Then he just precede to continue the time and than sit in the exact same position he was sitting .

I really like this version. Maybe even a little more than the updated one. It gives alot more realism with it. Especially throwing hierophant green around on cars and people actually freak tf out about it because they cant see him and its not a normal thing. Where as in the newer, aside from those who are in direct proximity with the main cast, the crowd may sometimes stop to observe this injured person whos struggling with air while random shit is just flying and they say nothing.
It's a completely different thing from the anime. The series does feel a lot more Jojo than this one
OVA arm snap is more realistic, than in anime.
I felt the animation in the OVA was actually so damn smooth especially like Kakyoins Emerald Splash at 4:31

Wow, that's amazing I didn't know that another version of Jojo exists.
I see that a lot of people in the comments are saying that they like this one more so I think I will give a try later, but I'm not gonna lie. The seriousness and cold blood show here makes me think "ah, this show must be very good!", but it doesn't strike me like the current Jojo version that I'm watching, that just grabbed my attention and I continue watching because of how very unique it is. (And I love the colors pallets changes, voice acting over the top and meme material haha).
