"Tenzing Norgay used to carry me to school" I love how the writers respected the intelligence of the audience and did not feel the need to explain everything or dumb things down.
That's one of the many things I loved about this show. Their use of language, their ability to quote writers, poets, and philosophers yet be totally useless at anything practical.
@@stellaormes1844 And something I noticed: absolute silence from the audience at the kiss. None of the childish whooping and screaming you hear in other shows at such a moment.
This scene has so much emotional resonance if you had seen the entire show up to this moment. When I saw it, I couldn't help but think back to that moment in Season 6 when Niles' heart was ripped out. Having to watch Daphne accept the proposal of another man was the ultimate torture. Then I thought back to the finale of Season 7. Niles and Mel returned, married, right before Daphne was ready to reveal her feelings to Niles. She put on a brave face in front of them, then broke down in the hallway outside. This was the greatest reprieve. It put all those moments of longing on Niles' part in perspective. I felt happy for Daphne, but more so for Niles. This was a reward for 6 years of ups, downs, heartbreaks and missed chances.
The Labyrinthine Jar Thank you to Frasier for giving us 4 more seasons of watching Nile’s and Daphne’s romance blossom, not like Friends that didn’t bring Ross and Rachel together till the very last episode.
Beautifully said Labrinthe Jar 👍 I feel it’s the scene that the fandom earned to see. The entire series built up to it. The infatuation that started as a gag for the show evolved into this epic pull and tug of daphne and niles.
Okay but for a comedy show, especially one that ran eleven seasons, this show really knew how to create beautifully heartwarming moments. Like this is 8 years worth of payoff and it’s beyond wholesome. Always happy my mother introduced this to me and my siblings.
Aww bless :) What a gentleman Niles is, you can see in his eyes that he is genuinely happy and content to be with the woman he pined for for so long and respects wholeheartedly.
The 'Apology accepted, Niles' from Frasier before Niles says anything is what gets me. No ego about it or making Niles feel guilty, usually he'd bask in someone grovelling to him to apologise but in this moment he just wants his brother to finally seize his moment.
Oh sweet lord, that smile Daphne gives him when the camera first pans to her. I’m friggin tearing up! I swear when I eventually watch this scene I’ll be a blubbering mess.
What an amazingly wonderful scene from an amazingly written tv show , the best ever show on tv and one I will watch with awe and affection until I leave Earth , from the script to the acting the props the music and of course ' Eddie ' who has already left the Earth some years ago . All that's good in this crazy World is in this wonderful show. Oh drying some tears again me after watching this scene with Niles and the beautiful Daphne . Thank you for putting these on TH-cam .
My parents were huge Cheers fans and made the transition to Frasier gracefully. They turned me on to Frasier. At first I didn't like it but as time went on I was laughing just as heartily as they were. ❤️
“But sometimes, when the chemistry can be just right, first dates can be magical.” I always think about this scene when I watch Daphne say this in the episode First Date. I think they just about captured that magic here... such a big payoff after waiting for seven years
The whole time watching Frasier and finally seeing Niles and Daphne being together really gives me such joy, in the beginning, Maris may have loved Niles but didn't respect him, also I'm not even gonna talk that much about Mel because she didn't deserve Niles, even after she showed her true colors. But Daphne has been a true angel and without a doubt the best love for Niles, she treats Niles as a respected human being and truly loves him and cares for him and the same with Niles loving Daphne, despite the many times of on and off looks and possible stalking and such lol but overall, I love Niles and Daphne finally being together, their love is true and real and its beautiful!
Charles, you can. Just do it. Fresh, crisp tablecloth, silver cutlery (can be EPNS), but I mean all the cutlery (1st course, 2nd course, desert, etc - just google it), bud vase, candlestick, etc. Cook or order some special food (starters, main, desert). All laid out as a surprise for when she LEAST expects it. The more effort you put in, the better she responds. But this is the secret... she must not know you are doing it for her - she must be shocked. Trust me, you will have the time of your life. And it really does not have to cost much. Best wishes & let me know how it goes.

That’s because she was pregnant 🤰 at the time. Jane Leeves is married to one of the producers of the show. They did a great job of hiding her pregnancy while shooting the show. Also the short story arc where Daphne gained weight after dating Niles is a clever way to cover up her real-life pregnancy.

Now he has the opportunity to ask those questions as her boyfriend. So like so many scenes on Fraiser, it's just extremely clever writing.
This is a show they contain some of the best writing in the business. I would say in the history of television, some of the best writing absolutely. But I’m confused by how they handled Daphne and Niles. There should’ve been some foreshadowing that Daphne felt some thing for Niles as well. Because the whole thing happened quickly and then we expected to believe the Daphne suddenly discovers that she feels the same way too. It just didn’t work, it felt awkward, and I didn’t have to be that way. Of course the riders also expected us to Believe that she would’ve been interested in marrying Donnie!! So I guess what I’m saying is there were many missed opportunities to just sprinkle some foreshadowing here and there throughout the 10 seasons and then when it happened I think it would’ve been a bigger deal. As if that wasn’t enough once they did get together they turned Daphne into a shrew. The whole thing was just a mess.
The reason this was sad because all of those men were in love with that one woman and it's Nothing they could've done about it seriously it's really saddening 😭
