Hey guys, there's one thing I forgot to mention that I'm sure people will find odd. Why doesn't it show shiny in the hatch screen? The hatch screen is still representing the Trainer ID and the Secret ID that corresponds to the game it was received from Ranger in (the one that prevents it from being shiny). The summary screen shows the Manaphy as it corresponds to the Trainer ID and the Secret ID of the file it's currently on. I've uploaded the raw footage of the hunt from the point of deleting the save file and starting a new one that is unlisted here; th-cam.com/video/IoJzEwFwqQg/w-d-xo.html - This is a hunt with a lot of history of people falsely claiming to have found it so I felt it was necessary to be as transparent as possible. @@thekoolkrab3226 You can inject the event with pkhex or you can do the dns glitch like you said but it requires an open network, I would recommend using the hotspot on your phone and put the primary dns as: 164.132.044.106 (MAKE SURE THE DNS IS EXACTLY HOW I WROTE IT) and leave the secondary one blank. After that assuming the connection is successful you should be good to go!
Everyone goes insane when somebody finds a 1% Shiny Chansey in the Safari Zone, but I dont think people realize that Sonikks 100% legitimatley found the rarest Shiny Pokemon of all. This is kind of a monumental moment if we're being honest, and I don't think there's anyone more deserving.
@@p1ruw306 it’s not as you can get Latios/Latias shiny legit in easier ways, it’s an interesting hunt and the mirage island circumstances make the hunt harder, but that has nothing to do with the rarity, this is the ONLY way to get a legit shiny manaphy therefore making this rarer

Finally got the opportunity to kick back and watch through all of this. Wow, this hunt is still so insane looking, even with this more efficient looking method. Watching the shiny appear legitimately made me jump, so I can't imagine how mushy your brain was feeling when it happened!! You still managed to put out super coherent commentary with some great points even in your mushbrain state LOL. Really glad that my date change advice helped you out in some way on this journey! Also loved how you took it on a tour of 4th gen with PBR and HGSS! Weird that the walking sprite looks so not shiny. Anyway, congrats again, man, unbelievable to see the three of y'all across the pond all complete this hunt, and I hope to see more brave souls take it on someday! I was so inspired by this that I decided to do the Manaphy egg mission on the only copy of Pokemon Ranger I have, and it looks like I have the egg!! This will go much slower for me but to hunt this legitimately is going to be so exciting. Edit: I was able to redeem the Manaphy egg with the ranger net visible, the game had been played through just enough. Though you're right in that most likely it'll be impossible to redeem the egg with it showing otherwise.
yknow ine time i told my therapist about how i failed a shiny after a 12k phase and she, without understanding it, was like "well i hope you reclaim it soon" so maybe therapy does help in all seriousness, you're a damn madman for doing this hunt, congrats bro
Very well done, and congratz!! I remember when I did this hunt about 10 years ago, it took me 3441 hatches, on 2 consoles and with 2 eggs... It was a nightmare, but it feels shocking and relieving at the same time, doesnt it? I remember I didnt even feel rewarded, I was like stunned for a whole while. Treat it nicely! ;)

Congrats on the beautiful Manaphy! I agree that manaphy has always felt special. Maybe it’s because I got it as a kid, or just the excitement of beating an entire game to get your hands on an elusive Pokémon. I’m glad that it went relatively quickly, the 4 system method is interesting. I’m definitely going to check out the unedited version to get more of a feel for what it’s like. I collected my eggs last month, and I plan to start the hunt in the next few months!

Ranger Net can be available without them taking the egg. I picked two up that had it, but they never put in the code for it. If they have the Ranger Net, that means they beat the game and most likely got the egg, OR they did the bonus mission such as the Mew one.
@@Elegant_Owl does it only show up after the game has been completed even if the save gets wiped? i havnt gotten around to actually playing it yet so i dont know
@@jamshush Once you unlock Ranger Net, it's unlocked for the entire cartridge, not just the save file. If it isn't unlocked it's guaranteed that the egg is there. If it's unlocked you have to specifically check if it's there or not. To get the egg you need Ranger Net to be unlocked and you need to enter a very specific code "P8M2-9D6F-43H7 " (US code). It's extremely unlikely that someone comes across this, and in this day, they probably wouldn't have a Gen 4 game to redeem it. I went through 6 carts and 4 had the egg, two having Ranger Net unlocked already.

Wow, my dude! I am actually impressed. As someone who has completed the national dex and has spent lots of years playing Pokemon, I am pretty sure shiny Manaphy is arguably the hardest shiny Pokemon to obtain. Just obtaining the OG Pokemon Ranger game brand new is hard enough as it is. There are very few copies left unopened and new which adds to the rarity of this shiny. Also, the method of how you get Manaphy shiny is pretty insane as well. Until I saw this video, I had a lot of doubt about whether or not a legitimate shiny Manaphy exists. If some do exist, there isn't a lot. Trust me. I know. I have a few friends around the globe that together with myself have quite a repertoire of Pokemon's rarest and we've never got our hands on a shiny Manaphy. You really do have a very, VERY rare Pokemon. Watching this made me happy.
@@miaberra9176 You RNG abuse in front of the guy the distributes events in the Poke Mart (preferably in HGSS in Cerulean city). You then use your DS clock to reach the correct seed on the correct frame (of your 2nd game). Once you reach it, you advance frames to reach the desired frame you want from Manaphy. Once you reach that, you get the egg and trade it to your 2nd game. Look up a guide on TH-cam
Nah there's a handful of us who've hunted it. And i mean a very small amount that can fit in one hand lol. I've done this and i hated every moment of this hunt.

A wonderful video for a wonderful shiny, the amount of work you put into getting this set up is really admirable. That said, I dread to think of the state of your DS touch screens after playing through Ranger that many times! But congrats, your consistency in completing tough hunts like this is always really motivating to see.

Congrats on the beautiful Manaphy! I agree that manaphy has always felt special. Maybe it’s because I got it as a kid, or just the excitement of beating an entire game to get your hands on an elusive Pokémon.
I’m glad that it went relatively quickly, the 4 system method is interesting. I’m definitely going to check out the unedited version to get more of a feel for what it’s like. I collected my eggs last month, and I plan to start the hunt in the next few months!

Ranger Net can be available without them taking the egg. I picked two up that had it, but they never put in the code for it. If they have the Ranger Net, that means they beat the game and most likely got the egg, OR they did the bonus mission such as the Mew one.
my copy of ranger doesnt have the Ranger Net on it, is it guaranteed to still have the egg available?
@@jamshush you have to have ranger net on your file to access the egg, so yeah your egg is still there.
@@Elegant_Owl does it only show up after the game has been completed even if the save gets wiped? i havnt gotten around to actually playing it yet so i dont know
@@jamshush Once you unlock Ranger Net, it's unlocked for the entire cartridge, not just the save file. If it isn't unlocked it's guaranteed that the egg is there. If it's unlocked you have to specifically check if it's there or not. To get the egg you need Ranger Net to be unlocked and you need to enter a very specific code "P8M2-9D6F-43H7
" (US code). It's extremely unlikely that someone comes across this, and in this day, they probably wouldn't have a Gen 4 game to redeem it. I went through 6 carts and 4 had the egg, two having Ranger Net unlocked already.
Yeah I know. I just think it's best to avoid games it's visible on as the pain of playing through only to have it redeemed already is not worth it.

Wow, my dude! I am actually impressed. As someone who has completed the national dex and has spent lots of years playing Pokemon, I am pretty sure shiny Manaphy is arguably the hardest shiny Pokemon to obtain. Just obtaining the OG Pokemon Ranger game brand new is hard enough as it is. There are very few copies left unopened and new which adds to the rarity of this shiny. Also, the method of how you get Manaphy shiny is pretty insane as well. Until I saw this video, I had a lot of doubt about whether or not a legitimate shiny Manaphy exists. If some do exist, there isn't a lot. Trust me. I know. I have a few friends around the globe that together with myself have quite a repertoire of Pokemon's rarest and we've never got our hands on a shiny Manaphy. You really do have a very, VERY rare Pokemon. Watching this made me happy.
I got myself Shiny Manaphy a few months ago using RNG abuse in Heart Gold, took a few hours to get everything correctly.
you can RNG abuse a shiny manaphy? how does that work?
@@miaberra9176 You RNG abuse in front of the guy the distributes events in the Poke Mart (preferably in HGSS in Cerulean city).
You then use your DS clock to reach the correct seed on the correct frame (of your 2nd game). Once you reach it, you advance frames to reach the desired frame you want from Manaphy. Once you reach that, you get the egg and trade it to your 2nd game.

Nah there's a handful of us who've hunted it. And i mean a very small amount that can fit in one hand lol. I've done this and i hated every moment of this hunt.
