The treatment of these shiny mythicals is so weird and frustrating - the unreleased ones are treated as if they don't exist, yet we've had Shining Volcanion available in the TCG since 2017!!!! I hope for a day that every shiny mythical is infinitely available with no shiny locks without having to rely on paying for them in GO
IIRC, back in 2016, for the whole 20th anniversary year of Pokemon, Gamefreak just gave away every mythical; one per month, with just a code that anyone can get and not gated by anything (except time). I do hope they have something similar planned for the 30th anniversary, but with shiny mythicals!
One of either Keldeo, Meloetta, or Victini are almost guaranteed to debut in February. Every year, an event called GO Tour occurs centered around a certain region, which is how Mew + Jirachi + Shaymin came to be. Next year is Unova, so one of these shinies will likely appear.
I used to be unsure, but this upcoming season shiny Zacian (and Zamazentta will follow) will become shiny huntable FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER, within Go. So the mythicals may actually happen now, given the schedule, the likely scenario is Shiny Victini for the Unova Tour which should be in February.

I feel the pain of hunting GO shinies. I've always wanted a Shiny Shaynin, so I bought the Limited Research event to unlock it. Turns out you to catch FOUR HUNDRED AND NINETY TWO Pokemon in THE FIRST FOUR REGIONS. As I'm one of the few players that can't drive, to this day its still not completed.
Right I think those are literally impossible for me and millions of others. I can't get legendaries in raids. I have never had more than one person join a raid with me in all the 4 years I've been playing. So unless they are on Giovanni's team I won't get them. And for it to rotate back around to catch them all would probably be a decade. Then you take into account the region specific mons then hell no I can't get them. Waste of 5 bucks.
I got that research but after Pokemon Go did an update recently, my phone's no longer compatible for it and have to get a new bloody phone that'd hopefully support the app, so I cant continue it until that happens! 😫
My problem with Pokémon Go is simple: it is unviable for me to play it where I live I did use to play it sporadically a few years back, but eventually I got to a point where I capped on the pokemon I could have and the items I can have on my bag. And with no gyms or stops or, well, anything nearby I can't get the currency needed to upgrade them. So the game is literally unplayable unless I pay. And why on earth would I pay for a game I can't play?
I'm fortunate enough to live in an urban area, so I have lots of opportunities to raid and collect supplies. I feel your pain though ... not sure I would play regularly if I were in some of the small towns I've visited.
@@theletsplaycurse yes. But being forced to delete pokemon to keep playing means you are forced to release rare pokemon you may never see again. Or pokemon with good stats you want to keep. Or simply pokemon you got at a special place that are special for you. The base PC is not enough. The items are whatever. They are just full because of the lack of anything to do. Potions are useless without gyms to battle. Pokeballs pile up if you can't catch anything. Etc etc And in line with that, if there is nothing to do other than catch and release pokemon, then there is again no point in playing.

It's also worth noting that there is a dns exploit with platinums wfc that lets you legitimately obtain the items that allow you get the mystery gift to encounter Shaymin and Darkrai so that you can hunt a perfectly legal shiny of them.
Yeah it can be brutal with Pokémon Go. I bought the Jirachi research when it came it last year, and I'm still on stage 3, trying to find 3 more Keckleon. I've caught 7, had 2 run away, and it sucks
I never used real money in pokemon go and I'm not a hardcore player (I mostly play for specific events), but I did play since 2016 and what I got in terms of mythicals is: - mew (free event) - Celebi (free event) - shiny Celebi (free event) - Jirachi (free event) - shiny Deoxys (raid) - Shaymin (free event) - 4 Genesect (raid) - Victini (free event) - Hoopa (free event) - Zarude (free event) - lots of shiny and regular Meltan and Melmetal total shiny (not including meltan line): 2
Diancie has a free release now called Glitz and Glam. Marshadow will probably be available for free soon. Next year I am betting We get Manaphy. Still have no idea how they are gonna do Arceus, other then Elite Raids.
It's really disappointing how hard they make mythicals, especially shiny mythicals. I wanted to get a Diancie back in 2020 or so, but it was last available back in gen 6, so only way to get a "legit" one would be using a powersave or pkhex to enable an old event. When Legends ZA is out next year, Diancie will probably be available, but likely to be shiny locked as the other legendaries were in PLA. Currently missing shiny Manaphy, Mew (got one in Pokemon go, but not sending my only one) and a legal Jirachi (powersave Japanese event from ORAS). Unreleased shiny mythicals will most likely be paywalled in to Pokemon go, next year it's likely Keldeo, Meloetta *might* be made available too, but who knows when Victini, Volcanion, Hoopa etc can be shiny. The quests in go for mythicals are a brutal grind, which takes forever to do. Wouldn't be suprised if GO would be the main way to release future legendaries too, gen 9 has everything shiny locked, might get Ogerpon, Calyrex etc from raids eventually before the mainline games want to release them.
I really don't get why TPC makes it so hard to get shiny mythicals. Like... I managed to get 1 shiny Meltan from GO which was only available for a certain time period, and you needed to use a lure that only lasts 30 minutes and needed a few days to recharge before you could use it again. I got the shiny Mew and Shaymin (no Jirachi yet) from the masterwork quest. I ended up buying a cheap Japanese Emerald to RNG another Mew. Then, I played through the copy of Crystal on the VC to unlock the Celebi which took 4450 soft resets finally sparkle. This is all to say Pokemon GO sucks a whole lot of ass and is somehow more painful and time consuming than buying an old Pokemon copy, beating the game, and then soft resetting or RNGing a shiny. Of course, I duplicated my shinies just in case.
A month ago, I shiny hunted Deoxys in Emerald using the ACE execution and Pomeg Glitch and in 3.5 days of run away encounters I got it. Also that was the first time I knew about the glitch too.
I’ll happily pay $30 for a pspv dlc where you can shiny hunt all the mythical pokemon, a lot of people would. They’re loosing money by not making them available through a pay wall
I, like many others, hate that so much is, either essentially or literally, GO-exclusive. Y'know, the game that knows when you're in a car and secretly makes all PokeStops cease to function because of it, giving a generic error message instead of telling you what you should be doing? Also, God forbid you're broke, or rural, or disabled, or can't leave the house by yourself for whatever reason, or live in an area where walking is very difficult, or you don't have any Gyms nearby, or nobody in your vicinity also plays the game so you have to beg randos online to use their REAL-MONEY ONLY Remote Raid Passes because Raids are impossible to do by yourself.

have been doing the shiny jirachi quest for about 2 years now on pokémon go, not even half way through it. i play casually sure, but 100% should have it by now if the quests weren’t ducking time locked, drives me crazy😊
The Shiny Shaymin quest has a ridiculous time time gate. 42 days of just waiting (catch a pokemon for 21 days X's 2. If I hadn't been stuck scrounging for Sinnoh pokemon I would have been done with it. As for S. Jirachi's tasks I think the most egregious one for me was Catch 10 Kekleon that crap took me damn near 4 MONTHS. The rest was skill and catch stuff that I did in a week.
I wish they would at re-release the events for BDSP to get darkrai and shayman, I didnt buy them right away so I missed out on even getting the chance to get the items that allow you to catch them/shiny hunt them and they're recent enough that it would be nice, though I understand nintendo wanting to just forget they even exist unfortunately
I have done several mythical hunts in older games myself. Got into RNG manipulation a while back and had a modded 3DS with a save editor to inject events. It's not really legit to some people, but was genuinely fun and far less torturous than the alternative. Except Manaphy. That one is torture squared no matter what you do.
I don't know how or why, but I'm pretty sure that in my copy of pokemon Sword I have a shiny Victini and I remember that because I noticed that two of the three Victini I have on it have illegal moves, like the one that are technically exclusive to Zekcrom and Kyurem, but the third one is from an event and is legit
I paid the $5 for the jirachi masterwork. Took forever to complete it. I was so excited to check my IV's when it was finally all done... my IV spread was #1503 of possible IV outcomes for a base floor of 10. It hurt so bad.
I am a Pokémon go player, and I’ve been playing for nearly 6 years now. These research quests that give the shiny mythicals are limited to one per player forever, in most cases. I was unable to purchase the shiny celebi quest because I completed it years ago. I understand how frustrating it is to complete these arduous tasks, but that’s part of the allure. A masterwork research task can be completed in like two months, but you’re going to be grinding so hard you’re gonna get heat stroke. If you play at a more leisurely pace, like I do, they typically take around 9-15 months to complete. Along the way, however, you get a lot better at the game. The “All for One #151” task gives you a shiny mew, but its final page requires you to walk 151 km, catch 1510 Pokémon, and hit level 40 among other things, and I can’t tell you how elated I was to finally hit level 40 and see that shiny mew. It’s all about the effort you put in, and not burning out
Got two shiny Meltans 5 minutes from each other during this year’s anniversary. I also got shiny Arceus while streaming later that day. Talk about luck.
That first one for the Christmas Zarude Movie event was very easy. Mew took awhile just for the shear amount of walking you had to do. Jirachi has a Stupid Kecleon thing. Shaymin has a, 42 day! TIME GATE. Who knows what shenanigans Shiny Victini, or Diancie will have.

my partner's mum has been playing pogo the whole time - right through all the low periods where they tried to reincentivise player base by giving away legendaries - and has pages and pages worth of shinies, including black rayquaza and many others. That shiny celebi quest that I haven't gotten near completed, she had the johto medal already lol.. she didn't need to pay for that quest anyway however, as she got it in a previous quest without paying :)))

I dont even like Go i just play it to get Mythicals and i was super depressed that shiny Manaphy wasn't released for the Sinnoh tour. When the games get DLC there should be a way to get mythical Pokemon from the history of the game.

You can also get a shiny Shaymin by buying a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 BDSP cart (or somehow downgrading to those versions) and using glitches to access the event. Costly, though!
I'm still shocked I managed to get Shiny Arceus. Though I was lucky and planned ahead when I got BDSP I got the events on my main and backup save file on the switch in case I ever want to hunt the shinies.
I've had my pokemon ranger shadow's of almia cart since I got it back in 2007 it must have been. Maybe 2008. But I downloaded the wifi events using the DNS exploit years ago and I didn't touch it because I wasn't confident I could RNG it. Finally years later, early this year because of CFW on my 3ds in fact, I RNG'd the boi and it was great. It was fun playing the event and I enjoyed the process of sending over the egg and learning to RNG it. Shoutout to ima blisey for the tutorial and shoutout to Sonikks for doing it all legit in the long grind.
I've heard people speculate that TPC is intentionally locking shiny legendaries and mythicals because it knows it can just make people play Go if they really want them, which is super scummy and frustrating. I miss when you could just hunt anything.
Regarding Shaymin and Darkrai you don't even need glitches. Just use said custom DNS servers on a copy of Platinum, get the event item and start hunting. These will transfer like usual. 😊
You can get these pokemon by using the roms online of these events. Dump the rom on an everdrive and transfer it to your game. You can also just exploit the wifi of the ds systems.
Not to defend Pokemon Go to much, but those paywalled shiny mythical quests usually happen as a rerun a couple years after there was a free limited time event for that shiny mythical. The free debut also has much less harsh tasks associated with its quest
i hate the fact that i can only get those shiny mythicals in pokemon go because i can't play pokemon go where i live it is a stupidly small place so there is no way for me to get a lot of pokemon,good pokemon,pokeballs,items,etc

My Shiny Celebi and New from Crystal Clear were able to be sent to HOME though the Mew has to have GF as the OT (there is a Mew fixer NPC in game) and thus Mew is said to technically he illegal because in the original event it's IVs we're set I heard

The TID/SID randomization isn’t in the video, but in the description there’s a link to the void matrix discord server, someone there might be able to help you with that part. But it’s an arbitrary code execution glitch in the video, it can do a lot of things for you
Back in sun and moon I was given a shiny manphy and a shiny victini in wonder trades not knowing they were illegal pokemon and now I've just got those, I also was given pokeball magira sorry for bad spelling on the names I haven't played pokemon in a bit now
I think my only legitimate shiny myticals are my melmetal and the swsh Zeraora from the global raid event, it was the one thing that convinced me to get pokemon home 😅 I also have like... two shiny celebis, one from pogo (the free research one) and the zarude event one.

BDSP: Darkrai & Shaymin event no longer distributing. Gift Mew and Jirachi locked. PLA: All legendaries and mythicals locked. ScVi: All legendaries and mythicals locked, INCLUDING THE $35 DLC ONES! Will be surprising to see if Legends ZA will even have shinies...

I remember the zeroaura event in sw/sh and how I had no idea how to get the shiny and spent years trying to figure it out with nowhere telling me where I could get my shiny zeroaura until I finally installed Pokemon home onto my phone about two or so years ago cause I had heard it had a lot of exclusive features leading to me finding the mystery gift and getting tons of home mystery gifts cause I contribute in a lot of events and have all the switch games for the 3 starters for each game Unrelated but also stupid I got the original marshadow event back in I think 2017 and lost it right before I was going to use it. I then found the card a couple days ago but it's worthless
I personally HATE using Pokémon Go to get shinies for my main game. I’ll catch them and hold them to my PoGo account, but the way Home connections works is infuriating. It’s a personal problem I know, but I play main series games exclusively in Japanese. My Switch, and all my games are in this language. But because PoGo and Home required me to use my Apple account (which was first set up in America) they automatically set my mons to English. Despite my phone being a Japanese iPhone, despite having only played PoGo in Japan, despite having a Japan region Switch, and despite my games also being in the Japan region. So the fact that many of these mythicals are being released for shiny for PoGo is a huge turn off. The upside is, I have many of the WiFi event shinies for the main games from 4th Gen up.

I begin sweating profusely whenever someone mentions the shiny celebi in crystal, mostly because mine came way under odds at 1120 encounters.

By My Pokemon Ranch they figured out how to make absolutely certain a Pokemon would be shiny locked to the initial game it's transfered to.

I never used real money in pokemon go and I'm not a hardcore player (I mostly play for specific events), but I did play since 2016 and what I got in terms of mythicals is:
- mew (free event)
- Celebi (free event)
- shiny Celebi (free event)
- Jirachi (free event)
- shiny Deoxys (raid)
- Shaymin (free event)
- 4 Genesect (raid)
- Victini (free event)
- Hoopa (free event)
- Zarude (free event)
- lots of shiny and regular Meltan and Melmetal
total shiny (not including meltan line): 2
Diancie has a free release now called Glitz and Glam.
Marshadow will probably be available for free soon.
Next year I am betting We get Manaphy.
Still have no idea how they are gonna do Arceus, other then Elite Raids.
It's really disappointing how hard they make mythicals, especially shiny mythicals. I wanted to get a Diancie back in 2020 or so, but it was last available back in gen 6, so only way to get a "legit" one would be using a powersave or pkhex to enable an old event. When Legends ZA is out next year, Diancie will probably be available, but likely to be shiny locked as the other legendaries were in PLA.
Currently missing shiny Manaphy, Mew (got one in Pokemon go, but not sending my only one) and a legal Jirachi (powersave Japanese event from ORAS).
Unreleased shiny mythicals will most likely be paywalled in to Pokemon go, next year it's likely Keldeo, Meloetta *might* be made available too, but who knows when Victini, Volcanion, Hoopa etc can be shiny. The quests in go for mythicals are a brutal grind, which takes forever to do.
Wouldn't be suprised if GO would be the main way to release future legendaries too, gen 9 has everything shiny locked, might get Ogerpon, Calyrex etc from raids eventually before the mainline games want to release them.
That feel when you don't play pogo and you just know they are gonna gatekeep various shinies there to make us main series only players suffer.
I got the Shiny Mew quest back when it first released and STILL have not finished it

I really don't get why TPC makes it so hard to get shiny mythicals. Like... I managed to get 1 shiny Meltan from GO which was only available for a certain time period, and you needed to use a lure that only lasts 30 minutes and needed a few days to recharge before you could use it again. I got the shiny Mew and Shaymin (no Jirachi yet) from the masterwork quest. I ended up buying a cheap Japanese Emerald to RNG another Mew. Then, I played through the copy of Crystal on the VC to unlock the Celebi which took 4450 soft resets finally sparkle. This is all to say Pokemon GO sucks a whole lot of ass and is somehow more painful and time consuming than buying an old Pokemon copy, beating the game, and then soft resetting or RNGing a shiny.
Of course, I duplicated my shinies just in case.
Because they like money.
A month ago, I shiny hunted Deoxys in Emerald using the ACE execution and Pomeg Glitch and in 3.5 days of run away encounters I got it. Also that was the first time I knew about the glitch too.
I’ll happily pay $30 for a pspv dlc where you can shiny hunt all the mythical pokemon, a lot of people would. They’re loosing money by not making them available through a pay wall
I, like many others, hate that so much is, either essentially or literally, GO-exclusive. Y'know, the game that knows when you're in a car and secretly makes all PokeStops cease to function because of it, giving a generic error message instead of telling you what you should be doing? Also, God forbid you're broke, or rural, or disabled, or can't leave the house by yourself for whatever reason, or live in an area where walking is very difficult, or you don't have any Gyms nearby, or nobody in your vicinity also plays the game so you have to beg randos online to use their REAL-MONEY ONLY Remote Raid Passes because Raids are impossible to do by yourself.

have been doing the shiny jirachi quest for about 2 years now on pokémon go, not even half way through it. i play casually sure, but 100% should have it by now if the quests weren’t ducking time locked, drives me crazy😊
The Shiny Shaymin quest has a ridiculous time time gate.

As for S. Jirachi's tasks I think the most egregious one for me was Catch 10 Kekleon that crap took me damn near 4 MONTHS.
The rest was skill and catch stuff that I did in a week.
There are adults younger than Pokemon Emerald... that's WILD.
I wish they would at re-release the events for BDSP to get darkrai and shayman, I didnt buy them right away so I missed out on even getting the chance to get the items that allow you to catch them/shiny hunt them and they're recent enough that it would be nice, though I understand nintendo wanting to just forget they even exist unfortunately

One thing to note about Gen 4, you can use a DNS exploit to get these events today. You can also use a CFW 3DS to give yourself the events as well.
I have done several mythical hunts in older games myself. Got into RNG manipulation a while back and had a modded 3DS with a save editor to inject events. It's not really legit to some people, but was genuinely fun and far less torturous than the alternative. Except Manaphy. That one is torture squared no matter what you do.

It's pretty simple to homebrew a 3DS a Pokemon Bank still works. So the only cost to entry for the shiny gen 1 and 2 mythicals is the cost of a 3DS
I don't know how or why, but I'm pretty sure that in my copy of pokemon Sword I have a shiny Victini and I remember that because I noticed that two of the three Victini I have on it have illegal moves, like the one that are technically exclusive to Zekcrom and Kyurem, but the third one is from an event and is legit
I paid the $5 for the jirachi masterwork. Took forever to complete it. I was so excited to check my IV's when it was finally all done... my IV spread was #1503 of possible IV outcomes for a base floor of 10. It hurt so bad.
I've gotten 5 shiny Meltan but I also had nearly 1800 candies at one point lol
rip for an idiot like me, who bought the shiny mew task a year ago, and only just got past the first task a month ago
I am a Pokémon go player, and I’ve been playing for nearly 6 years now. These research quests that give the shiny mythicals are limited to one per player forever, in most cases. I was unable to purchase the shiny celebi quest because I completed it years ago. I understand how frustrating it is to complete these arduous tasks, but that’s part of the allure. A masterwork research task can be completed in like two months, but you’re going to be grinding so hard you’re gonna get heat stroke. If you play at a more leisurely pace, like I do, they typically take around 9-15 months to complete. Along the way, however, you get a lot better at the game. The “All for One #151” task gives you a shiny mew, but its final page requires you to walk 151 km, catch 1510 Pokémon, and hit level 40 among other things, and I can’t tell you how elated I was to finally hit level 40 and see that shiny mew. It’s all about the effort you put in, and not burning out
Got two shiny Meltans 5 minutes from each other during this year’s anniversary.
I also got shiny Arceus while streaming later that day. Talk about luck.

my partner's mum has been playing pogo the whole time - right through all the low periods where they tried to reincentivise player base by giving away legendaries - and has pages and pages worth of shinies, including black rayquaza and many others. That shiny celebi quest that I haven't gotten near completed, she had the johto medal already lol.. she didn't need to pay for that quest anyway however, as she got it in a previous quest without paying :)))

Took me literally 2 years to get shiny Mew from the Masterwork research. Getting to level 40 was a nightmare. I dont even like Go i just play it to get Mythicals and i was super depressed that shiny Manaphy wasn't released for the Sinnoh tour. Im really hoping Victini is in the Unova tour because i want one even though its gonna take forever.
honestly any shiny pokemon that are only included in events I don't even bother with (ex. gamestop events, raid events, and other ways I cant think of)
Would be nice if you could complete the FUCKING DEX SINGLE PLAYER! This isn’t even counting trying to get goobers like Marshadow who are promoted in media and the show and aren’t available outside of limited time events from years ago. When the games get DLC there should be a way to get mythical Pokemon from the history of the game.

I remember as a kid watching all these classic shiny hunt videos on all the games pre-Gen 5 and doing the Victini event and thinking to myself “wouldn’t it be so cool to get a shiny one as my first real attempt at shiny hunting?”

Barely got two shiny Meltan in a previous event. Hunted a yellow mew and crystal celebi so far. Have what I need to hunt jirachi and manaphy someday.
You can also get a shiny Shaymin by buying a 1.1.1 or 1.1.2 BDSP cart (or somehow downgrading to those versions) and using glitches to access the event. Costly, though!
I'm still shocked I managed to get Shiny Arceus. Though I was lucky and planned ahead when I got BDSP I got the events on my main and backup save file on the switch in case I ever want to hunt the shinies.
Still don’t have the first page of the shiny mew go quest done yet. No one I know plays and I can’t get the last of the kanto legends

I've had my pokemon ranger shadow's of almia cart since I got it back in 2007 it must have been. Maybe 2008. But I downloaded the wifi events using the DNS exploit years ago and I didn't touch it because I wasn't confident I could RNG it. Finally years later, early this year because of CFW on my 3ds in fact, I RNG'd the boi and it was great. It was fun playing the event and I enjoyed the process of sending over the egg and learning to RNG it. Shoutout to ima blisey for the tutorial and shoutout to Sonikks for doing it all legit in the long grind.
If I do not get access to a shiny Victini within the next two games I will riot. Find me camping out outside nintendo’s office in protest.

I've heard people speculate that TPC is intentionally locking shiny legendaries and mythicals because it knows it can just make people play Go if they really want them, which is super scummy and frustrating. I miss when you could just hunt anything.

Regarding Shaymin and Darkrai you don't even need glitches. Just use said custom DNS servers on a copy of Platinum, get the event item and start hunting. These will transfer like usual. 😊
also i find it a little ironic how people say melmetal is free despite it being the most expensive mythical, needing you to buy a 70 dollar game
It's free pokemon home or get a friend to give you item in pokemon go which is free to play can also trade for them.

You can get these pokemon by using the roms online of these events. Dump the rom on an everdrive and transfer it to your game. You can also just exploit the wifi of the ds systems.
Lowkey I might get myself some more totally legit shiny mythicals from 100% bug free games since the mew worked from my 3ds
Not to defend Pokemon Go to much, but those paywalled shiny mythical quests usually happen as a rerun a couple years after there was a free limited time event for that shiny mythical. The free debut also has much less harsh tasks associated with its quest
That just makes it worse the paid version worse than the free version.

My Shiny Celebi and New from Crystal Clear were able to be sent to HOME though the Mew has to have GF as the OT (there is a Mew fixer NPC in game) and thus Mew is said to technically he illegal because in the original event it's IVs we're set I heard

The TID/SID randomization isn’t in the video, but in the description there’s a link to the void matrix discord server, someone there might be able to help you with that part. But it’s an arbitrary code execution glitch in the video, it can do a lot of things for you

Back in sun and moon I was given a shiny manphy and a shiny victini in wonder trades not knowing they were illegal pokemon and now I've just got those, I also was given pokeball magira sorry for bad spelling on the names I haven't played pokemon in a bit now
I think my only legitimate shiny myticals are my melmetal and the swsh Zeraora from the global raid event, it was the one thing that convinced me to get pokemon home 😅

The state of shiny legendaries and mythicals is just getting more and more depressing..
SwSh: Zacian, Zamazenta, Eternatus, Type:null, Kubfu, Galarian birds, Keldeo & Poipole, all locked.
BDSP: Darkrai & Shaymin event no longer distributing. Gift Mew and Jirachi locked.
PLA: All legendaries and mythicals locked.
ScVi: All legendaries and mythicals locked, INCLUDING THE $35 DLC ONES!
Will be surprising to see if Legends ZA will even have shinies...
I’m glad I still have the items in BDSP so I can hunt them whenever.
Also since PLA shiny locked all legendaries and mythicals I doubt they will not lock them in legends Z-A
I remember the zeroaura event in sw/sh and how I had no idea how to get the shiny and spent years trying to figure it out with nowhere telling me where I could get my shiny zeroaura until I finally installed Pokemon home onto my phone about two or so years ago cause I had heard it had a lot of exclusive features leading to me finding the mystery gift and getting tons of home mystery gifts cause I contribute in a lot of events and have all the switch games for the 3 starters for each game
Unrelated but also stupid I got the original marshadow event back in I think 2017 and lost it right before I was going to use it. I then found the card a couple days ago but it's worthless
I personally HATE using Pokémon Go to get shinies for my main game. I’ll catch them and hold them to my PoGo account, but the way Home connections works is infuriating.
It’s a personal problem I know, but I play main series games exclusively in Japanese. My Switch, and all my games are in this language. But because PoGo and Home required me to use my Apple account (which was first set up in America) they automatically set my mons to English. Despite my phone being a Japanese iPhone, despite having only played PoGo in Japan, despite having a Japan region Switch, and despite my games also being in the Japan region.
So the fact that many of these mythicals are being released for shiny for PoGo is a huge turn off. The upside is, I have many of the WiFi event shinies for the main games from 4th Gen up.
