    On the dating/marriage spectrum:
Keep in mind everything we do as Christians is to have a desire to glorify God because what He did for us on the cross. Being a Christian is a very sacrificial life. Yes, in marriage, there are benefits that God blesses us with such as companionship, sex, starting a family, etc. But, the main reason for marriage and why God designed it is for it to be another example of how Christ loves the church. Marriage is not solely for the benefit of man (although it does bring benefits to man), but rather it’s solely to recognize what God has done for us and to praise/worship Him even more.
With all this being said, the Christian culture has turned the idea of marriage into a false gospel. Your purpose as a woman is to not be a wife and helper, or your purpose as a man is to not be a husband or provider of a family. Your primary purpose is to GLORIFY GOD!!!

To anyone not raised in religious indoctrination, what you described makes God sound selfish self-absorbed egotistical and cruel.

This video gave me a lot of perspective. For example, I'm so fixed on the idea of marriage especially getting married early that when someone of the opposite sex wants to genuinely get to know me, I automatically think that means he's sent from God to be my husband😂. Also, Christian culture has become so toxic with how things are handled like with purity that when it's time to move forward you're stuck. But thank you so much for making this video!

You have no idea how much life this video gave me! I felt devastated last night over my sin struggles and the message about condemnation was really important for me to hear ❤️

I love the big sister/best friend vibes from this video. Y’all have very good perspectives. Something I’ve always stood by that a pastor of an old church of mine said was that church isn’t supposed to be a country club, it’s supposed to be a hospital. I really dislike how so many churches want people to hide their sins or not talk about these uncomfortable topics. We’re supposed to do life together because we’re all struggling with the same stuff even behind closed doors.

Hi Katy I learnt so much
Live in a country which is mostly catholics ( I’m Protestant and love Jesus) and this culture has been taught everywhere . Hope I can use this to actually show Gods love and not the toxic stuff the church teaches

  • @Fiddler4mySavior

This is so SPOT on!! Preach! It kinda feels like churches push segregation and instant marriage in place of actually discipling their members. It is easier to avoid the difficult topics of why sex outside of marriage can be toxic, etc. than delve into the dirt. God did not have an aesthetic life. He was born next to donkeys and touched leapers yet the modern day church keeps avoiding what makes them uncomfortable! Marriage is not a quick fix.
Our first priority should always be God. Seeing His influence through your life is so inspiring and beautiful!!
OH! And Paul in 1 Corinthians says to cast and judge those living in sin and to welcome them back when they have repented! NOWHERE does God say anyone is beyond redemption. So yes, the shame of purity culture is so harmful

Ah Katy and Abby !!! Thanks for speaking so much truth and reminding me that regardless of what a culture where the world has somewhat infiltrated the church it’s ok to not want marriage right now and to be a woman without a man 😅💖💖

I think these are great conversations and they could really benefit from inviting in someone a little older who is married like a professor or a youth pastor's wife as a collab for a q&a. My husband and I work in youth min. I love your videos for their transparency, and how your followers ask honest questions.

i just got a new youth pastor a couple months ago and abt 2 weeks into his job we had this annual youth event that our old youth pastor had already planned and we were eating lunch, but all of the girls sitting in the couch sitting area, and the guys were all around a table, and our youth pastor came and said, “what’s the deal with the segregation?” and he wanted the guys to sit by us. i thought it was rly cool bc the middle school youth pastor is the complete opposite (i’m in 10th so it’s been 2 years since i’ve been with him but we still do events mixing middle and high school). now the actual reason we were mixed was bc a couple of the guys left to go get their gf’s coffee and as soon as they came back there were a lot of guys sitting with us bc he was one of the “popular guys”

Fun yet tricky conversations for car talks. I think starting in a group with a person you like seeing how they are with others and then one on one time. It definitely doesnt need to be a rush like society shows

I actually stopped going to church because people imposed so many nonsense rules there was no room left to be comfortable. Much easier to stay single than for me to be in a relationship because people are so hung up on rules of man.

Amen🙏🏼! This has made me feel so SO much better. Honestly all my life people have put me in a box of how I need to be a ‘perfect’ Christian. NOBODY is perfect apart from Jesus. Yet I have found that the some of the Christian culture has become so judgemental. Like you said everybody sins and falls short. But nobody seems to share about it, which is why people feel so alone and like they cannot be forgiven. This is why Your account is SUCH a blessing💚🤎

Great video, but I don’t agree that using a metaphor like a broken plate etc is objectifying. The kintsugi metaphor for example is so poetically exquisite, I don’t find it objectifying.

There sure is a lot of feminism oozing out of this. The old "career" is the number one priority....you have to be 30 before you are old enough to make any real life decisions.
In 30 years are people going to need to be 35 before they are mature enough to make any decisions?
This generation...25 years old and still figuring out a path for life.
Going to hell for sexual sin?
    Kicked out of church?
What Red Herring "Footloose" church you are you two railing against?

  • @ghosttheprogram6973

Most of the things here are just people trying to confirm their own bias
It's funny how so this was done without scripture but you think it's a heresy
It was a nice video but you could do with actually using scripture

    • @chloegrace4950
      @chloegrace4950 2 ปีที่แล้ว

If the tattoo is God honoring its not a sin. We are under grace not the law and that Bible verse where it says we can’t have tattoos doesn’t apply us. Plus it really is about personal conviction. Jesus loves you and so do I
