Are Classic Wrath Era Servers a BAD Idea?

With the new World of Warcraft Classic 2024 roadmap reflecting what's to come for Classic World of Warcraft, many people have once again questioned what will be next once we've finished Cataclysm Classic. One long requested idea was Wrath of the Lich King Era servers, where players could remain in Wrath as an expansion, much like Vanilla Era servers. But, is this a good idea, particularly with the upcoming roadmap for WoW in 2024? Let's find out.

Should Wrath Era Servers be a thing sooner or later? 🤔

Sooner - for those who just enjoy pvp (maybe just me) - would love to just copy my current characters ... even if I had to pay for it just to stay there for the "possibility".
Dont want to raid in icc prison and ulduar again for bis pvp items that are pve acquired.
This is just my opinion.
Oh well - look forward to cata and mop for pvp personally

Wrath era should exist as its own entity, even if it’s just two servers, it’s not about the raids, it’s about having a version of the game many people enjoy. If you go on the Wrath Forums that’s all people talk about is they are asking blizzard to keep wrath era, nobody wants cataclysm except people with no lives and people who raid. Blizzard has forgotten about people who take their time and enjoy the game, especially the small things about the world.

I’d agree with the point of how it’s not just about raids. I quite enjoy the fact that levelling from Lvl. 1 means you get to experience Vanilla in the old world, Burning Crusade and then Northrend levelling; all as a recognisable derivative of Vanilla. I certainly think either during Cata/after, there could be a resurgence in general demand for Wrath (depending on what happens with SoD).

It will be a few weeks until we see but ICC was less popular than it seemed and outside of the mega servers, it's fairly dead in WOTLKC since SOD. It probably is relatively quiet on them as well. I think Wrath Era will probably not happen unless there is serious support from the players though if trends continue

I do agree with you on ICC seeming far less popular. I would wonder if some of that has to do with the announcement & continuation of Classic going into Cataclysm though. A few people I played through BC & Wotlk classic with felt a bit put off/less bothered about ICC after the Cataclysm Classic announcement (alongside Season of Discovery being massively popular now taking other players away from Wrath).
Only my personal experience though, so I do wonder how many others out there feel the same.
