- Will the remake live up to the legacy of the original? Today I'm sharing my do's and don'ts for the Assassin's Creed 4 Black Flag Remake and if it has the potential to be a worthy successor to the beloved pirate adventure.

Ubisoft like to use elements from previous titles in future ones which makes me ask if they'll use skull and bones features in the remake, who knows. Much love
My guess is that they're using the Black Flag Remake to take even more time with Skull and Bones. A lot of assets from the Remake are gonna be used in S&B, trust me.

I'll add my 2 cents, Ubisoft need to make the Caribbean historically accurate, all the islands that were controlled by the European powers should show that and it also needs to be accurate as it is in real life, so the map needs to be updated, they did do this in the orginal but that's only in the Edwards Fleet missions. If Edwards finds himself in what was an island controlled by the French it should show that, they can do this by showing French flags scattered throughout the island and NPCs speaking French, just to give us that real life caribbean feel. I would also like the option of sailing to and exploring mainland Africa, maybe the Indian ocean if we're going to push it.
I hope they add the ability to sail any ship I know the jackdaw is iconic but still it would make me a very happy man.

At the moment you can use mods.
I’m all for them adding side quests, the map was plenty big it’ll give us something to do at each island after finishing story mode or just a way to make money while completing the story
Things that i wanted to see in the remake
1. Add port royal that place in legendary
2. Make the game more darker because look at pirates of the Caribbean those are dark movies this game is to happy
3 make the jackdaw a frigat instead of a brik a brik is to small and have more firepower feels more epic
4 add that you can you into the deck of the jackdaw instead of only getting into the captain cabin we can do now
5 last point is make the game more difficult this was to damn easy
YES! Rogue needs a remake over Black Flag!
rogue is my favourite and seeing how it was made with old assets and wasnt fully fleshed out, it deserves a remake and some true love so more assassin creed fans can experience it.

I hope they don’t screw up the controls or story. I’m looking forward to playing as Edward in current gen graphics.
I know they were disappointed when it originally came out because it was cross gen they could not make it a seamless open world and you had to load into cities, they can finally remedy that. Having cities made to scale and more land island traversal like in Odyssey would be nice, also wouldn't mind having a horse to travel all of Cuba if there is more land exploration.
i would love more adventures in it. event quests, side quests, bundle quests, and maybe something new that wont ruin the main story.
Remove the modern day? It's the main story. The historical stuff is just a tool for the modern day characters.
Nah nobody plays for the modern day it’s boring and I always feel disappointed when they pull me out of the cool pirate shit to do some bullshit first person walking around

I hope they use the AC Syndicate version of Edward Kenway's canon outfit (meaning the actual 3D model used in thst game) since it is the best rendition of it, in my opinion
In addition, even though i dislike AC Rogue as a whole, it did have a neat feature that absolutely needs to be in this remake: the ability for enemy ships to board your ship; this will add so much to the ship combat experience, and feels like a smart iteration to include; in addition to reusing the ship design for the Morrigon from Rogue for the Jackdaw.
Regarding DLC expansions, one i wish we got for the original game was one involving Edward Kenway in a hallucinogenic dream sequence, where he must fight the legendary Kraken sea monster, as well as encounter mermaids and leviathans. That would have been so much fun in my opinion
Buying those firelords sets are completely optional. I would really want to get other ships and have an upgrade system for those ships. I would also want the ability to change the color of paint on the ships and what Valhalla, odyssey and origins had with the outfit system except for the armor abilities. Just the clothes for the looks and wether you want 2 swords or 1 sword.
And they also should add stealth on attacking fort
Or sabotage the fort before we fire our ship like that

They should do an Edward Sequel after the remake. Perfect timing. Darby, the lead writer of Black Flag himself said that Edwards story wasn't over in his opinion and that Edward deserves a sequel.
I would love a ACrogue remake

There is on nexusmods for 240hz but the fps is tied to the engine so it might be buggy

@@oskyys6853you should've specified you're on console. there wont be an official patch for the reason stated and i doubt its possible to mod on console. horribly optimised port on pc too, both worlds lose. this is why it needs a remake, the game was cobbled together badly.

Hot take but I enjoyed the modern day in BF more than that of any AC game I've played so far (which are AC3, Unity, Syndicate, Origins, Odyssey, Valhalla). Also imo the tailing missions should stay for the most part. There are few things more assassiny than tailing someone and spying on their conversations for information. They were often a pain in the arse, but a game isn't a proper game without some level of challenge. I don't want them to change much of anything about the game except expand on the cities/islands a bit, remove load screens, upgrade gameplay mechanics and visuals, add more customization (cosmetic only, no mtx but who am I kidding), and maybe add some extra cutscenes/side quests for the side characters. Keep the crafting, hunting, mini games etc. and while I wouldn't mind an upgraded combat system, please leave the ship combat exactly as it was. Don't f'n make it some Skull and Bones flamethrowers and machine guns type bs.

I think they should make so that if you already bought the original you get the remake for free I mean it only seems fair Skyrim does it all the time

I can't believe they're not remaking the first game. That's just ridiculous.
Mirage missed my favourite things from AC1. Puppet parkour and the shock and awe combat system. Ghost of Tsushima did a better job in the combat, with their terrify mechanic being so similar to AC1s shock and awe. The difference is GoT enemies are permanently eliminated but with AC1s you have about 2 seconds to take them out

There's no point in remaking Black Flag. Graphics are ok, everything is good. There was no point remastering AC 3 either. Now the first title needs a remake. Cause Altair literally has nothing to do, all of side activities are the same. Controls are clunky.
But any title after AC 3 is ok as it is. No reason to remake or remaster anything.
I think the only thing wrong with Black Flag is that the graphics look too outdated. It looks like a game that came before 3, and it's just like pixelated. It feels less HD than 3
And I also feel that they should've made the game longer or at least give you more time with Edward as an actual assassin. Cause I liked interacting with the Mayanas and Ah Tabai
i didn’t mind the graphics at all, aside from the ppl it’s about as good as you could want. bit of adjusting if you were playing modern games before this though. i thought they should flesh out all of the characters more. like i didn’t care as much as i wanted to when mary read died because it feels like they only talked a few times

It dosen’t need a remake or remaster. Ubisoft would also fuck it up while charging more than what the original game cost. Also Ac1-Ac Revelations deserve remakes way more. In an era where players are dying for a true assassin game the last thing I want is a pirate game with an assassin. Sounds a lot like a Viking game with an assassin, or a spartan game with an assassin. Hence why I don’t understand why people say Black Flag is there favourite Assassins Creed game, yes it’s probably the best pirate game ever made but no way in hell is it a good Assassin’s Creed game and isn’t even in the top 6. Also for those who say it sold the most copies of the og formula you must remember Valhalla is the best selling Assassins Creed of all time which is obviously a bad April fools joke but is sadly true. So sales does not equal a good game, well in Assassin’s Creed case anyways.
Don’t get hopes up about the remake they might take the outfits you get for free and then make them microtransaction

I honestly think they are remaking Black Flag simply to re-use assets for Skull and Bones. Think about it: why remake a game that, after a decade, is still very fun and that has aged extremely well, instead of something like AC1, that actually needs a remake?
They need something good to come out of Skull & Bones and lowering the budget of a surefire hit like a Black Flag remake would do it
Love the video, but I’m all in favour for a black flag remake. It runs like trash on PC so much so I had to replay it most recently on my ps5

It's sad that we all know ubisoft will unfortunately mess this remake up. Cut scene quality will be massively downgraded, they'll add unwanted and unfitting rpg elements and just overall suck the soul out of the game. This is the reality.
