These intense scenes where the Dahaka followed the prince, always gave me fever. I could feel the thrill, the fear of my own life being taken by Dahaka. This is the most unique and greatest aspect of this game, that YOU LIVE THE CHARACTER OF THE PRINCE, unlike any other game where you just do a mere roleplay. I think this is the reason this is my all time favourite game and no other game can replace it. PoP Warrior Within is truly a masterpiece.
I also like the character development this 3 games had From the atention seeker rich kid he was when we first meet him to the hopeless guy in two thrones , ah and the edgy prince in warrior within was very entertaining
Screen goes into sepia *Instant sweating and adrenaline* "Fucking camera shifts!" Brilliant camera shifts and controls inversions - they added to the tension and the stress This game imparted the stress or intensity of a situation so damn well I keep replaying it and listen to Godsmack to this day xd
Its the distorted speech when he chases you and the distorted sounds on his approach. You feel that something's wrong/reality feels warped and that puts you on edge. Its beautifully put together for such an old game
The footsteps sound, The roar, the shaky camera, The constant pursuit, The way the Color changes to black n white, Very rare games gives off this kinda fear to gamers. The only hope is that epic music from Gosdmack that keep the adrenaline spike
As a kid playing this game that monster scared the crap out of me everytime he showed his face. It felt like actually running for your life. I miss this game and those days so much
The Dahaka is without a doubt one of the most terrifying video game villains of all time. EVERYTHING about it was scary; its dark and shadowy appearance, it's invincibility, and the fact that it was swift and killed the Prince in an instant. On top of that, whenever he appeared, the screen turned into this gloomy sepia tone, making it more dark and scary.
I swear we had this PE teacher in middle school. We used to call him the Dahaka, cause when we saw him walking to the football pitch, and we were there during study time, we'd fucking run like never before. Good times
When I encountered Dahaka the first time, I was scared shitless and failed multiple times. There is this passageway from where the Dahaka chases you. And everytime I failed and had to play it again, I used to get really anxious and scared as I got closer to the passageway. This was the first time a video game gave me anxiety.
Im 16 and still getting goosebumps as his footsteps intensifies.. i remember i used to have my brother alongside me to complete these terrifying levels. those days were wholesome

1:05 I remember, that about 15 years ago, I coudn't run away from Dahaka. I died again and again, so finally I took a hammer and destroyed my keyboard in to pieces. Than went to the shop to buy a new one =b
I had to literally pee when Dahaka came for the first time while I was playing as a kid. After all those years still, my heart is pumping listening to the music and thumping score in the gameplay.
The battery of the UPS of the desktop was out of juice. Back then, there used to be massive voltage fluctuations resulting computer to shut off. 11 years old me used to put my fingers on the power button of the power hungry CRT monitor ready to turn it off as soon as we hear the ticking sound from the home stabilizer, so as to prevent CPU turn off of the whole system. My cousin (bless his soul), 2 years older then me used to play it, both of us scared to death with Dahaka on the chase.
the visuals made me get into design. so surreal and ethereal. larger than life spaces. the environments were so amazingly designed I felt like I was there. felt like a beautiful dream.
Honestly my issue with most video games is that the environments are ridiculously oversized and gamified, it ruins immersion. Like yeah I get it, hack and slash adventure, but there’s really no need to have a railway station-sized open space in the middle of a library. It’s a bloody library, there’s supposed to be a mountain of books all over the place. There’s always this moment in every game when you stop and look at the local architecture and go like ‘there’s absolutely zero need for this bunch of poles with flags on this wall where no one ever sees them, they’re exclusively here for me to climb and it’s painfully obvious’.
Man this game was fun, finding all the swords, getting extra health, with all the added abilities(once you go through the portal) also having 2 alternate endings.
The Warrior within was a vibe, with the dark and gloomy atmosphere.Feeling your controller shaking with each step of the Dahaka was terrifying. However the sands of time is still my favorite Prince of Persia and one of my favorite game. The tragic tone of the game mixed with the enchanting and oriental sceneries was wonderful.
Bruh i played this when i was 10 and i almost had a heart attack. Just hearing the steps coming closer and closer. Never knowing if i have enough distance to look back. Really really scary.
Some of my favorite moments from the game were the Dahaka chases. The urgency of escaping certain painful death, combined with the most killer musical soundtrack of any video game, just got my adrenaline moving in a way that no other game has, before or since.
Played both series multiple times and the Dahaka is way scarier. For starters you can fight back against everything GoW throws at you, one way or the other. Kratos is never powerless. Not so here. These chasing sequences are designed to make you feel powerless and weak, and at the beginning of the game the Prince also admits to being afraid for his life for the first time in his life. Add this implacable time guardian chasing you back and forth, past and present, determined to end you to the theme of hopelessness that the entire Prince's quest to alter his fate has. The Dahaka is way scarier than any satyr, cerberus or cyclop
God of War was never meant to be scary, it is meant to be badass and it has existed since the days of PS2. So your comparison is dog s*it and insulting an awesome game because of another awesome game makes you a biased, fake gamer.
I guess you'd have to actually play it as a kid to understand. It was intense, the first time I feared death in a video game. That stuff had my heart pounding.

I also like the character development this 3 games had
From the atention seeker rich kid he was when we first meet him to the hopeless guy in two thrones , ah and the edgy prince in warrior within was very entertaining
Demon slaying is fun
Screen goes into sepia
*Instant sweating and adrenaline*
"Fucking camera shifts!"
Brilliant camera shifts and controls inversions - they added to the tension and the stress
This game imparted the stress or intensity of a situation so damn well
I keep replaying it and listen to Godsmack to this day xd
Its the distorted speech when he chases you and the distorted sounds on his approach. You feel that something's wrong/reality feels warped and that puts you on edge. Its beautifully put together for such an old game
Yeah, like Regan’s voice in the Exorcist when she is possessed by Pazuzu
Warrior within was something else man ... Had one of the best memories with this game
I remember this. My hands shaking after completing this mission 😂
Raat ki nind bhagane wali game hai 🤣🤣 this game is still terrifying me everytime
@@bhupinder632 Because of bad camera movement it was more difficult. Aachanak se badaldeta aur git jaate the🥲
@@anshulsingh8326 yes but this game is legendary allways in our heart ❤💕💖
@@bhupinder632 true ✨
@@Cloud-xq8fw yup
The footsteps sound,
The roar,
the shaky camera,
The constant pursuit,
The way the Color changes to black n white,
Very rare games gives off this kinda fear to gamers.
The only hope is that epic music from Gosdmack that keep the adrenaline spike
As a kid playing this game that monster scared the crap out of me everytime he showed his face. It felt like actually running for your life. I miss this game and those days so much
I miss that wall running.
This is what running in a nightmare feels like.
Perfect description. I would always shout at the Prince to run faster while pushing that analog stick to its limits. Those wretched molasses legs 😂.
@@holysmokes4493 ya gotta keep hitting that roll button🤣🤣
Agreed. The vibe and ambient here looks like a nightmare as well.
Exactly 😂👌🏻
when the game used to be actually scary and not just jump scares!
Even the loading screen scared the shit out of me
My heartbeats and adrenaline used to be pumped when playing this section in particular and all Dahaka sections in general
I swear we had this PE teacher in middle school. We used to call him the Dahaka, cause when we saw him walking to the football pitch, and we were there during study time, we'd fucking run like never before. Good times
OMG this loading brings back so many childhood memories. This was one of the most difficult games I have ever played.
When I encountered Dahaka the first time, I was scared shitless and failed multiple times. There is this passageway from where the Dahaka chases you. And everytime I failed and had to play it again, I used to get really anxious and scared as I got closer to the passageway. This was the first time a video game gave me anxiety.
This dude dared face the Dahaka without sand backups. Legend❤️
This game had such a good plot with time travel.
1:58 I still get a little anxyous when hearing that
Running from your death is something that we all fear and this game made it feel so real.
It increase my heartbeat. When I first played it.
Same here, first time feared death , that too in a video game !
Im 16 and still getting goosebumps as his footsteps intensifies.. i remember i used to have my brother alongside me to complete these terrifying levels. those days were wholesome
The feeling of getting chased by this DEMON and reaching the time portal room and watching him going away. Loved that. I don't understand why people say WW
So?
SOT was equally funny and had a way better story for me.
People can still have different opinions, you know?
It doesn't have to be WW>Every other POP every time, ffs.
@@Vale96. I never said in my statement that WW>SOT, lol. I just said what you said, I don't like the comparison.
@@gauravbatra6226 Ok but your comment still doesn't make any sense.
Unfortunately for me, there are literally 0 people saying SOT>WW.
Everyone is always saying "WW is the best!" here and there without even knowing the entire game is built not on one but three plotholes, it's bullshit!
You don't even know how many people said they're gonna buy the SOT Remake only because they'll do WW after and not because they actually like SOT, it breaks my heart hearing that everytime 😢
@@Vale96. actually for me, its the other way around. I have seen many comments which said SOT>WW. That's why I wrote. But I love the trilogy as a whole. Each game as important as the other.
@@gauravbatra6226 Ok, good for you, I'm the exact opposite though.
I only like the first one and am tired of hearing WW>SOT, especially for both the Main Character and story.
One of the best video game series ever made. It's a shame that they discontinued this masterpiece
1:05 I remember, that about 15 years ago, I coudn't run away from Dahaka. I died again and again, so finally I took a hammer and destroyed my keyboard in to pieces. Than went to the shop to buy a new one =b
2:06 The only thing missing was a “You shall not pass!”
Aah yes, why wouldn't this be recommended to me 8 years later out of nowhere. Thanks TH-cam!
As a kid this was pure nightmare fuel
I am scared even by just watching.
Old man: No one can remain calm when Dahaka is behind you. No man can.
I had to literally pee when Dahaka came for the first time while I was playing as a kid. After all those years still, my heart is pumping listening to the music and thumping score in the gameplay.
I was quivering when I was doing this part. It was awful.
as a kid, this was a scary nightmare, if I went back and played this again I'd still be a little scared lol
This game is pure in acrobatics, i used to think as kid these running against the walls the most awesome thing ever .
Man this game was fun, finding all the swords, getting extra health, with all the added abilities(once you go through the portal) also having 2 alternate endings.
1 wrong move....you're dead
Bro you mean anytime the Dahaka showed up?! I remember just handing the controller to my dad like "You got this right?" Lmfao
I was more scared in this game when I was a kid that playing an actual thriller game.
That fast walking sound still gives me chills!!!!
Dahaka coming is really scary
Bruh i played this when i was 10 and i almost had a heart attack.
Just hearing the steps coming closer and closer.
Never knowing if i have enough distance to look back.
Really really scary.
This had the same energy as being chased by Carnage Doc. Oc in Spider-Man on the PSone
me: man does this shit bring back memories.
also me: I. STAND ALONE. INSIIIIIIIDE. I. STAND ALONE. STAND ALONE!
Ah yes i have ptsd as a kid back then cause of this
The music, the mechanics, the gameplay, the environment, the character all was so perfect.
Nobody makes games like this anymore.
Some of my favorite moments from the game were the Dahaka chases. The urgency of escaping certain painful death, combined with the most killer musical soundtrack of any video game, just got my adrenaline moving in a way that no other game has, before or since.
Kids who have played god of war: "scary? We don't do that here"
Played both series multiple times and the Dahaka is way scarier.
Where is gow a scary game? this mofo Dahaka was something else
God of War was never meant to be scary, it is meant to be badass and it has existed since the days of PS2. So your comparison is dog s*it and insulting an awesome game because of another awesome game makes you a biased, fake gamer.
The stadium scream when dahaka launches the prince on the wall>>>
How the hell did ubisoft butcher this beloved franchise just to milk more Assassins Creed titles.
