Dahaka is the only game monster that I've ever had a genuine nightmare from, and that was at 16 even, long after I've finished the game. I guess I felt as desperate as the Prince when I was running away from that hulking monster through my old, abandoned school, but I had to jump out of a window and felt like I broke my leg, after which I woke up :/ Anyway, big thumb up to Ubisoft for creating one of the scariest monsters of the video gaming franchise, even though it's not even a horror game.

I swear, the way the Prince GASPS when the Dahaka either gets too close, or when he finally gets away after each chase is an EXCELLENT bit of attention to detail.
Guys, if you take what the Dahaka says and reverse it, it's actual English! For example, at 1:53 the Dahaka said "Disrupt the timeline no further.", but we heard the reverse!

The fact that camera view sometimes shows Dahaka coming at you superspeed from behind makes the chase sooooooooooo fkin scary. Plus the grunting sound and loud clunky footsteps piles on and gives me a damn panic attack xD

It has been 16 years since I played this game and I still get nightmares from the Dahaka. No horror game and movie, no book or moment in my life is re-occuring as often in my nightmares as the Dahaka. At this point I believe Ubisoft consulted seances to create a demon in video game form.
This is one of the most underrated games... I loved playing it.. And dont understand why Ubisoft is not making anymore sequels of Prince of Persia franchise.
Only legends know just how satisfying it was to pull these off flawlessly. To remember which side of the wall to choose to run on, to not repeat swinging on the bars or ropes, to doggedly pick up the damn mit. Everything that game after would always feel like a derivative of this game.
I remember running away from the dahaka like I was going to die in real life when I was a kid. You know a monster is scary when you hear "I stand alone" while he burst trhou a wall. That backward talking and the colors fading out as he gets closer... This is how you build tension!
1:14 the first time I played I had no idea where I should go, I was completely in panic ; I ran and jumped... right into the Dahaka's arms. And I was to scared to even think of pressing the rewind button, I figured it still worked even after the Dahaka destroys your body later.
Among all the pop series by ubisoft this was the best game.. I mean in all other game it takes so much time to find way for the 1st time. But in this run for your life who cares where the way takes you the beast is on behind your ass.. RUN

I can still feel that terror of playing it for first time back in 2013
It has been 16 years since I played this game and I still get nightmares from the Dahaka. No horror game and movie, no book or moment in my life is re-occuring as often in my nightmares as the Dahaka. At this point I believe Ubisoft consulted seances to create a demon in video game form.
So many memories with this game. Good times. Dahaka is definitely a great nemesis in this game.

Only legends know just how satisfying it was to pull these off flawlessly. To remember which side of the wall to choose to run on, to not repeat swinging on the bars or ropes, to doggedly pick up the damn mit. Everything that game after would always feel like a derivative of this game.

I remember running away from the dahaka like I was going to die in real life when I was a kid. You know a monster is scary when you hear "I stand alone" while he burst trhou a wall. That backward talking and the colors fading out as he gets closer... This is how you build tension!

Prince of Persia Warrior Within 😍 it's my favorites game of all Prince of Persia.
at 6:43 I always shit on myself every time I hear the dahaka breaking the barrels
1:14 the first time I played I had no idea where I should go, I was completely in panic ; I ran and jumped... right into the Dahaka's arms. And I was to scared to even think of pressing the rewind button, I figured it still worked even after the Dahaka destroys your body later.
Among all the pop series by ubisoft this was the best game.. I mean in all other game it takes so much time to find way for the 1st time. But in this run for your life who cares where the way takes you the beast is on behind your ass.. RUN
