Mars's voice actor yelling does sound like Cain, which is weird because his normal tone is completely different. I didn't think it was Mars at first either.
All jokes aside though, this OVA was actually sick as hell. It's art was surprisingly beautiful for a series that, at that time, was thought to never be played outside of Japan. And the character development here, just divine. Although it wasn't much ( because the series was only two episodes), you could still see that they fully intended to flesh out the characters in a way the games simply couldn't with simple dialogue in cutscenes. They showed off Marth and Caeda's relationship from the get go. They showed the student-teacher relationship Gordan and Doga had, a relationship many fans wouldn't even know existed. They turned the singular chapter that introduces Julian, Rena, and Navarre into a short epic about a seasoned warrior who lives for the sword betray his only way of life, all whilst a mere petty thief decides to do the little he can for the one woman who showed him kindness. They also made Oguma significantly more badass than he already was. It was a sick show that deserved better. It genuinely disappoints me that it only got two episodes because I have no doubt they would have turned Minerva's story into an epic saga spanning the better part of a good arc. Why did we only get 2 episodes of this but a full season of the Zelda cartoon
Well, I agree with a lot of what you said. I uploaded this because I'm a fan of anime, not a Fire Emblem fan and I still enjoyed it even though the video was comedic. I think this is an OVA of 2 episodes and Zelda the animated series was made into 13 episodes because it was an American production from DIC, the same one that did the Mario shows and Captain N. Fire Emblem might not have taken off into a full anime show like Kirby, Pokemon or F-Zero because of funding, it may have been not to Nintendo's standards as this is from 1996 before they had any other anime adaptions. I'm sure monetary-wise, they would be happy to have made the Pokemon anime a year later in 97 than produced the FE one, even if it's not exactly what we want.

If I'm not mistaken, Japanese doesn't differentiate Ls and Rs. Altea became Aritia because of that. Archanea is the name of the continent as well as the name of the main Kingdom (similar to Ylisse and Valm in the future, where the Kingdom of Ylisse was less than a third of the continent and Valm turned out to be a small town after Valentia/Valm split apart). :)
The dub was by ADV, who were the largest anime localizers of the 90s. They did the dub for massive shows like Evangelion, Full Metal Panic, etc, as well as Golden Boy (one of the very few anime shows considered to have a better dub than sub). They clearly had no idea wtf a Fire Emblem was back then however, and it shows.
