Having a high-quality bag made by your own husband must be amazing 🥰
And also in general I don't mind spending a lot on a good quality product, but I refuse to spend a fortune just because there's an expensive brand-marker on it.

I've started my leather artisan Journey 2 years ago.. I saw someone selling bags on Twitter and I reached out to him and he told me his was mass produced.. So I thought what if I can make my bags my self.. and that was the start of it. And like the gentleman in the video I do everything by hand no machines. I'm a very Impatient person but with making my totes I know I have to have patience.. it makes me slow down and think and really observe what I'm doing.. it's almost like a zen moment for me.. Especially sewing by hand it hurts my hands some time but its soo relaxing ...I'm so glad I found leather working

This is the future of luxury - people would much rather buy your one-off piece than something mass manufactured (I believe :)). So nice to see your family btw!

I wonder what was the total cost of the materials and labor? If your bag is comparable to a Hermes, what is the cost of your bag versus the cost of a comparable Hermes bag?

I think he teaches to all levels but if you are starting new, he has online courses some on TH-cam (I believe) some more advanced ones on his website. A good way to get a glimpse of really high level craftsmanship.

Any ideas of what you want to do with the remaining leather? A matching watch strap for you would be a subtle but cute pairing.

I made a little card sleeve by hand. It took like 3 hours 😅. Hand sewing is…tough. Would’ve benefited from better leather too 😂
