Making Hermes alligator bespoke wallet that beat the $5,000 Hermes wallet

"8cc Bi-fold Wallet Alligator version"
*Note: We will not reveal all of the technical things to craft this specific SLG. Please don't ask about the things we've not specified in these videos.

This artwork was a bespoke order from one of my customers.
Made out of Special type Chevre & HCP(TCIM) Alligator leather and the Initial stamp + renewal design stamping option was added.
All the leathers used and the way of making this luxurious leatherwork are the same as the French luxury leather brands.
No cheap fabrics were used and no bare flesh sides have remained on the backside. All of the parts are fully leather-lined and it is not an easy process to achieve the slim linear thickness between several layers of leather. This is one of the reasons that French luxury leather goods are expensive.

Phenomenal craftsmanship. I especially appreciate the saddle stitching by hand with an awl and linen thread, as that is how I learned.

@@AtelierSANGBLEU don’t get me wrong; I’m more passionate about cars and computer engineering, but this seems like it would be a fun side hobby, especially since I like working with my hands
absolutely exquisite work. Bespoke is by far the way to go if you are spending the high dollar amount demanded by luxury brands already. I LOVE the alligator and would love to have a leather piece with an open umbilical scar. I understand it is considered a fault on the leather but I think it would lend some character to what it's made with

Hmm,,, if the open umbilical scar you mean is the genital part of the alligator/crocodile, we don't use them because of the fragile end scale around the open hole.
Are there other brands or ateliers that use those parts out there??

That skiving knife cover is gorgeous.
Also I commend you for not punching all the way through with the iron and awling each hole. Despite each edge probably being thin enough to punch through, without making too big of a hole. Well done.
Thank you for the recommendation! But those kinds of irons don't have tapered blades, so I can punch all the way through without widening the holes. But, as you recommended, I used to use the awls when I'm stitching thick parts 😉

Wonderful craftsmanship and attention to every aspect of the wallets construction. Burnishing the edges of a just completed hand saddle-stitched piece of leatherwork is my favorite part of finishing up the piece. I've been working with leather for years and used to sell my pieces in several Boutique Apparel Shops, Art Galleries and to various Clients. Unfortunately, I haven't made anything new since I started to learn how to play the Harmonica. Watching you working with leather, cutting, measuring then hand stitching your piece and burnishing the sides with that chunk of wax plus whatever else you use to create such beautifully tight perfectly rounded leather corners and edges... well, seeing you work has reminded me of how much I actually miss creating a belt, notebook, a bag

What do you use on your acrylic template to have the leather stick to it? Does it work with veg tan leathers? Thanks! Beautiful work!
Just a normal double sided tapes, you should test it if you can use it on your leather articles.

I don't think I have enough money to carry inside this wallet for what it might eventually cost. It is a very nice item and hope it will serve its carrier well.
This is more of a contemporary design which is slim and has a small amount of bill capacity.
For the bundle of bills, long wallets could be a suitable one.

An excellent work, the alligator leather wallet is beautiful! It is a pleasure to watch the process of turning a raw alligator skin into the beautiful wallet. You are creating something that the future wearer can be eally proud of! I wear a watch with a real alligator strap, so I know what I am talking about. It is a much different feeling from wearing common leather, it is definitely worth the money that we invest into exotic leather. I can recommend it much to every leather lover. Btw I appreciate the beautiful watch and the leather bracelet on your wrist! Are they your own products?Both real alligator, too? The goatskin in this kind of wallet is typically 0.5mm for the interior. There are lots of options where you can buy this high end quality of Chèvre Sully where they split the leather for free.
