I always felt Robert was under appreciated because his acting is so effortlessly natural. The T1000 was so effective because Robert did not overplay or overact. His acting is so instinctive you only see the character. Unfortunately I think this has led to him not being appreciated more which is a real shame. I loved him in Copland, a movie chock full of great performances.

I knew someone that worked with him. There was a reason he didn't say "Action". When he started and was doing westerns they would get old time movie directors. They would yell "action" and scare all the horses so I guess he doesn't want to scare the horses (or actors)

Some directors want people to be focused. I like the fact that Eastwood does films with no nonsense and does not get into the whole francy art stuff doing hundreds of takes and just settles for the right amount of takes.
His movies tend to come in on budget, on time and are a very high quality production.

I have an old friend whose father ran a small plane charting service out of a local airport. Eastwood frequently rented through his service.
My friends dad met quite a few celebs that way, and he always maintained that the three nicest were Clint, Kurt Russel and Leonard Nimoy.
Eastwood was exactly as you’d expect him to be: funny, smart, personable and someone with no patience for bullshit or fools.
