      Thanks, Jackson! I really appreciate that! Well since my Honda CB750 is a 2003, it already had a "digital" tachometer. So all I had to do was solder it to the existing RPM wire on my bike. Since your tacho was mechanical you'll have to hook it up elesewhere. Where did you hook it up? I've heard a few different ways to hook up the tach wire for older bikes. The main way is to splice the RPM wire into your pick-up post.

    Thanks for the tutorial. When you say the red wire is "power to the speedo all the time" what do you mean by that and how would you wire it? Would you just run a wire to the positive terminal of the battery separate from the ignition wire? Wouldn't that drain your battery constantly? I own one for my 99 Suzuki Bandit 600 and my wiring diagram stated the Black wire in the 9 pin connector was the "Door 🔐 Lock" on a gauge meant for a bike??? SMFH! But none of the wiring was correct on the paperwork that came with the gauge and I spent about 3 hours of my life with figuring out how they wired the gauge and then the blue plug on the suzuki bandit which is really easy to figure out without a wiring diagram, just trace the individual wires to their corresponding ends! And write everything down of course so that you have a realistic reference and you won't burn your bike to the ground! Or melt your new Chinese gauge! Good video though. I NEED HELP !
    First i had connected both [+]wires (red and black) at the key of my moto so when i turn it on it should move the needle up and down and at the same time the light turnes on, but the settings on the speedo's menu resets every time i turn off the key... 2 days ago I changed it, the red wire is always attached to the battery [+]pole and only the the black wire is on the key so the speedo is always powered on and displaying all gears, speed and gas level but with no backround light (the backround light is the black wire which is powered only if the key is on) Everything was running perfectly but the other day the battery was dead meaning that the speedo shouldn't be always attached on the [+] pole but if it is not always attached the speedo menu settings resets!
    Did i do something wrong ?? Please I need your help

      Yeah, you can't hook up directly to the battery because that draws power constantly and kills your battery. Are you making sure you save your settings after you calibrate them? That could be why its resetting every time. Check out my other video on how to calibrate this speedo.

    I believe the set up has a configuration for the different fuel resistance sending units. set it to the configuration where ground = full and it will stop blinking when you ground the wire.

    I have a problem with mine rpm wire I checked is there was a signal through a voltmeter and there was , but when I connect the wires (black an yellow and black and yellow) nothing seems to happen

    • @rikket11

      Yes it worked perfectly , I also used a multimeter en the voltage of the original tachometer wire was okay

    • @MotoMango
      @MotoMango  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is possible that the speedo/tach is bad. I had to replace the first one I got in the mail because it came DOA.

    • @rikket11

      We replaced the old meter on the bike and that one worked fine so I guess something was wrong with the digital meter

    • @MotoMango
      @MotoMango  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think you can change the odometer mileage, you can only reset it to zero. Can you elaborate what you mean on your 2nd question? I also have another video that goes over how to set it up once you've wired it. That might helps as well. Cheers!

      @@MotoMango Thank you for the reply. I found that the odometer I have is slightly different in how settings work. When going to settings ccc: 123 for changing cyls, etc. Use ccc: 456 for changing odometer. Thanks for your great video.

    Hey man I’m back again, I’ve wired everything but I seem to be having a problem or I’m just confused on what the black and striped brown wires are, they’re positive wires on my bike, but I didn’t need them to get the bikes speedo working, the problem is it doesn’t turn on and if I do get the bike on it turns off?? It’s making no sense to me, I believe you have a nighthawk too and maybe you could help me understand what those black and brown wires are on your bike and what you did with them when you plugged up the new speedo

    • @MotoMango
      @MotoMango  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Striped brown is power wire for the cb750 and I believe black wire is ground.

    • @MikeP-ck8bi
      @MikeP-ck8bi 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry, I meant that I have 4 wires that are all the same color black and brown, they are connected to the fuse box but those black and brown wires are not doing anything to power the speedo even though they were connected to the old speedo

    • @MotoMango
