    when I bought my '82 cb750f recently, i was really happy that it came with crash bars. they might not be the most aesthetically pleasing things, but protecting the motor is always worth a small sacrifice to the look in my opinion. saw your video of the crash, glad you walked away and the damage to the bike is really minimal considering it was a high side.

    Black wire="Electric door lock" is Chinese English for switched power supply. So, power coming from your key switch. This will switch on the unit.
    Red=connect to a constant power supply.

    If you want to be very accurate. Put a chalk mark on the tire and the ground sit on the bike and roll it forward put another chalk mark then measure the distance. This will be equal to the circumference.

    Love this speedo. Bought it for my Triumph Legend TT. However, it is a 3 cylinder bike and I believe this Speedo accommodates 1, 2, and 4 cylinder bikes. Would you recommend I connect it up as a 2 Cylinder and rpms will just be a tad low and slightly inaccurate? Any wisdom there would be hugely appreciated. Thanks!

    Hey Moto Mango, referred to your video when I installed mine 2 years ago, great help. Just today I burnt my speed sensor output terminals, water got into the 3pin connector that connects to the magnetic sensor. I was wondering if I should jump a power line from elsewhere to power the magnetic sensor but I need to check what voltage that sensor runs on. My guess is 12V, and wondering if you could help measure yours. Thanks

    • @MotoMango

    I just installed this yesterday.
    The one I got has different software though. You can not change it back to 1 cylinder if you change it to 2 or 4.
    I accidentally changed it to 2 cylinders.
    I have a 4 stroke 1 cylinder.
    At first it was doubling my speed, but I changed the number of magnets in the software from 2 to 3 (I'm actually running 5 though.)
    The speed and rpms seem to be perfectly calibrated now. That's all I changed in the software was the magnet count.
    I ran my rpm wire to the ignition pulse on my cdi.
    So now I'm wondering if the number of cylinders really matters.
    Would it effect the rpms or the speed?
    Also, I'm wondering if the 1 cylinder mode is for a 2 stroke, and the 2 cylinder mode is for a 4 stroke.
    Maybe that's why it is working on my 1 cylinder because it is a 4 stroke.
    Any thoughts on this.
    People are telling me it can't be right. But the speedo is GPS verified, and the tach seems to be showing the right rpm range for my engine.
    Thanks

    Hi, great videos about this digital speedometer. I've solved the stand light problem (no indicator light) simply spilling out the stand light signal from the bulb cable itself. But at the moment I'm experiencing another huge problem: everything works fine, but when I start the engine the bike positive signal (I assume) switches from battery to alternator and the entire speedometer goes down. Ok, blinkers, "N" and other lights are still fine, but neither back light nor display are on :-( any clue? Thanks anyway!

    If your bike has a drum brake, you might not be able to calibrate it. I have a cb250 cafe racer, the only place to put the magnet was on the rim. That diameter is too great for the range in the computer...so mine reads about 10mph off at (40mph when you are going 50) I wish there were a way to make the gas gauge stop flashing, but I was able to get the N, turn signals, rpms all to work.

    PLS HELP! When I put the bike into gear the speedo turns off.. :\ it’s only on when the bike is in Neutral

    • @MikeP-ck8bi
      @MikeP-ck8bi 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have the power of the speedo coming straight from the headlight. Since the headlight never turns off I thought it would be a good place to put it. It works just how it’s supposed to except when I put the bike into any gear the speedo turns off and when I put it back into Neutral it turns back on.

    • @MikeP-ck8bi
      @MikeP-ck8bi 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      My bike also has no gear indicators so I assumed those gear wires coming out of the speedo were useless. Also the bike stays on no problem when in gear. It’s just the speedo

    • @MotoMango
      @MotoMango  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Sounds like your speedometer is only grounded when your bike is in neutral. I would hook up your ground wire (probably green wire) to a ground which could be negative terminal on your battery or just to some bare metal on your bike.

    • @MikeP-ck8bi
      @MikeP-ck8bi 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      So another problem happened. Now when I ride my bike the bike turns off while giving it throttle. I’m not sure what happened that’s causing it to do this but all the cables are connected except for the ground wires that were connected to the old speedo. Thanks for replying btw

I removed the connector and now I'm left with the brown, blue and black wires from the sensor itself... could anyone tell me what exactly those three wires do? when I first plugged in the 3pin connector it doesn't work, no speed readings at all. the rest are fine..

    • @MotoMango
      @MotoMango  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The speed sensor connects to the 3 pin connector on the speedometer. When he sold you the speedometer did you get a speedo sensor with it?

    • @MotoMango
      @MotoMango  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      ha I just reread your comment, idk why I thought you didn't have the sensor. The sensor connector plugs straight into the 3 pin connector on the speedo. Do you have magnets on your wheel for the sensor to pick up? Do you have the sensor mounted next to your wheel to read the rotational velocity of the magnets?

    • @amoskoh4390
      @amoskoh4390 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      hey man thanks for replying. I'm trying my best to explain the situation here 😂.
      when connecting the 3 pin plug the sensor was not working at all, with magnets and everything in place. the light bulb on the sensor didn't even light up. re routed thecpower cable to another wire and got the speed sensor light to shwo up but it still wasn't picking up the speed readings... anyway I've ordered another set from another seller to try it out.. probably a defective set. will update in case someone needs the info

    • @amoskoh4390
      @amoskoh4390 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes it came with it. 3 pin connector when connected somehow didn't give the sensor power so I dismantled it and tried to re route the positive wire to another source it worked but speed still not getting any readings
