A cool fact about this game. If you get one enemy to hit another repeatedly, he will turn around and start shooting back. That was always fun to watch.
This man speaks the truth! This is one of my most treasured games of all time, by none other than RareWare (of course). I don't think too many people know about this amazing work of art. It's so fun, even the multiplayer is amazing.
I've watched the whole thing. It's the first time I see this game in action. Thanks for the upload! At 33:33 RARE recycled the rings from Star City in Diddy Kong Racing!
It took me four years to beat this game... FOUR YEARS. Want to know where I got stuck? Mizar's Palace with Juno. I COULDN'T FLIPPING FIND THE SECRET ENTRENCE TO THE UNDERGROUND TUNNELS. WANT TO KNOW HOW I FOUND IT? MY FIVE YEAR OLD COUSIN RECOMMENDED THAT I JUMP INTO ONE OF THE FLAMES. I was so pissed... ;-;
The superb SFX and Music in this game were awesome... come to think of it... alot of all the music and sounds were grabbed and placed onto alot of scenes and things in other games! but this one came first... um example.. example... Oh! Like Conkers Bad Fur Day! Any fan of the Game will Quickly state the fact that the Swimming SFX is a direct copy to the "RARE" game we all know and love. =D Awesome Run Dude! 5/5
Hm, interesting. I have never seen or heard of this game before, but this speedrun was very enjoyable to watch. Good luck with the rest of the speedrun Comicalflop!
Because they use systemized audio bits instead of track files, so they can just have certain sounds repeated over and over without much processing requirement instead of storing the whole song file on the cartridge.
I can understand not having time to do the entire game in a TAS, but they picked an awfully strange place to stop the run. Great video anyway, of course.
I can't believe I watched the whole thing...wow, that's the longest single video I have ever watched on TH-cam! Nice TAS, anyway. I hope Comicalflop completes the rest someday.
Few things: 1. It's crazy how clear N64 games are on emulators. The lack of fog and blur is cool, but really brings out some bad background textures in this game. 2. RARE was the backbone for N64 and reason all the 90s kids started liking video games. JFG, Diddy Kong Racing, Banjo 1 & 2, DK 64, Goldeneye, Perfect Dark. Nintendo only had Mario, Zelda, Starfox, and Smash Bros for big titles. Even dating back to SNES, Rare was reponsible for DKC, Killer Instinct, and Battletoads Double Dragon.
yeah, i never ended up beating this game at all, i just remember playing it for the multiplayer and shooting up all the bugs xD. rocket boost dog ftw!!!
TAS = Tool- assisted Speedrun, and he does seem to be using an emulator; I noticed that when I clear an area when I play on an emulator, the red light thing with the picture of an ant on it doesn't turn green, it only makes the little animation showing that the door to the next area is unlocked and gives the little sound.
I remember when I first saw this game in this vhs tape from nintendo with trailers and basically some gaming talk about what they would be like.I wanted it so bad.Still watching first lv and I'm blown away. I'm pretty sure the game isn't this easy.
Well, really what I mean to say is the highlight of the N64 was all of Rare's work. Nintendo made fans of many before they stepped in, with stuff like all the NES/SNES Mario games, Zeldas, Super Metroid, and Kirby. But as far as quality and ideal gameplay outside of those Nintendo titles, Rare was the one to deliver it, and probably Donkey Kong Country is the earliest example of their "golden age".
Its funny how so many ideas were in this game that are carried over to today but the most direct copy of this game just because of style and weaponry is Ratchet and Clank
yeah, Ostnizdasht206 is right, the makes of Halo used a lot of pre-existing ideas when making the Halo games; The idea of a planet being a giant halo structure had already been done by an author called Larry Niven in his sci-fi series Ringworld. :P
Nintendo / Rareware 1. Zelda OfT / GoldenEye 2. Zelda MM / Perfect Dark 3. Mario Kart / Diddy kong 4. Mario 64 / DK 64 5. Star Fox / Jet Force Gemini 6. Mario Parties / Banjo-Kazooie 7. Paper Mario / Banjo-Tooie 8. Smash Bros. / Conker's Bad Fur Day 9. Mario in sports ...
What? I was just saying that to express that you're in the minority when it comes to thinking collecting the Tribals was a fun task in the game. Majority of the people I talk to, disliked that task. Especially when the game tells you that you have to do it near the end, just to get to Mizar.
Neither did I. I didn't even understand what those Furry little monsters that you had to save were. At first, I thought you were supposed to kill them, so I shot at it and it dissapeard... heh, I thought I had killed it.
47:36 - 48:31
I see what you did there, i love when TASers do that kind of stuff.
12 years later and I'm still waiting for this to be finished :'(
Me too :(
I would LOVE to see this finished. It is both entertaining and fast. Also I think this would be the first published complete run of the game.
A cool fact about this game.

This game change my childhood !
I can give anything for play a sequel from Jet Force Gemini !!
This man speaks the truth!

2021 here... Still waiting for it to be finished
epic game, I remember how I loved this game in my youth
I love this game, it really needs a sequel.
this game's soundtrack is AMAZING... how did they manage to cram all this awesomeness into an n64 cart?? i doesn't sound terribly compressed..
Thank GAWD I got this game when I was little :D LOVE IT never found all the parts :
I've watched the whole thing. It's the first time I see this game in action. Thanks for the upload!
At 33:33 RARE recycled the rings from Star City in Diddy Kong Racing!
Rare, back in their glory days, could pull off some f*cking amazing things.
This was in a golden age, an age where Rareware was not owned by Microsoft.... And made nothing but wonderful wonderful games.
It took me four years to beat this game... FOUR YEARS.
Want to know where I got stuck?
Mizar's Palace with Juno.
I COULDN'T FLIPPING FIND THE SECRET ENTRENCE TO THE UNDERGROUND TUNNELS.
WANT TO KNOW HOW I FOUND IT?
MY FIVE YEAR OLD COUSIN RECOMMENDED THAT I JUMP INTO ONE OF THE FLAMES.
I was so pissed... ;-;
There are glass images in that room that tell you exactly what to do and which flame to jump into……..
Miss the time where we should try crazy stuffs like that to see what happens and not search youtube for tutorials
Yes! the soundtrack is amazing.
Wow, I was so much expecting a TAS of this game, which is by far on the bes N64 games by far imo :)
this is my childhood :')
The superb SFX and Music in this game were awesome... come to think of it... alot of all the music and sounds were grabbed and placed onto alot of scenes and things in other games! but this one came first... um example.. example... 12 long years buddy :')
"WIP"... 7 years ago... D;
It's 11 years now.

I can understand not having time to do the entire game in a TAS, but they picked an awfully strange place to stop the run. Great video anyway, of course.
47:35 Changes weapons to the beat. LOL
Still hoping for the end T_T
39:44 why did he have to shoot that native in the face like that
Lmao that was funny xD
Thanks. Don't forget the breath taking soundtrack. It's epic.
That dog character is so damn badass :)
This really wakes up memories!
may their awesomeness rest in peace....
Wow, I actually remember playing this, nice run Comicalflop.
45:50
and so on. you're weapon scrolling with the music.
I LIKE IT
I can't believe I watched the whole thing...wow, that's the longest single video I have ever watched on TH-cam!
Nice TAS, anyway. I hope Comicalflop completes the rest someday.
is this still a WIP video? D:
Holy living Hell do I remember Jet Force Gemini. Great game, was so into it as a kid, but I really didn't fully understand it.

rocket boost dog ftw!!!
It's really amazing that ANYONE liked Gears of Fail when such a great 3rd Person Shooter set the bar so high.
Indeed man, the effects and shit would be so awesome.

"We overheard some guards when we arrived."
Guards: *Boar and pig sounds* squeek, wheeze!
Me: Umm, how exactly did you understand that? o_o
wait, what does TAS mean? :o, and another thing, are you playing on an emulator?
I remember playin this game when I was a kid, I used to own my friends in multyplayer
Amazing! Let's hope he finishes it ;)
Do you get paid for the commercials?
I noticed a picture that said "beware of machine gun dog" It made me think of this game.
this is one of the most difficult n64 games out there
The Floyd robot can shoot a solid beam of lasers if you have a turbo button, it's about as strong as a lightsaber
Its funny how so many ideas were in this game that are carried over to today but the most direct copy of this game just because of style and weaponry is Ratchet and Clank
I love Jet Force Gemini, more videos about JFG!
how do you get no time limit?
Any word on how this is going?
yeah, Ostnizdasht206 is right, the makes of Halo used a lot of pre-existing ideas when making the Halo games; The idea of a planet being a giant halo structure had already been done by an author called Larry Niven in his sci-fi series Ringworld. :P
i loved this game...
was this ever completed?
I had this game, but lost it.. It was so cool!
any word on a sequel?
Is this suppose to be a list comparing the games? because it isn't very accurate.
the nostalgia!

4. Mario 64 / DK 64
5. Star Fox / Jet Force Gemini

It is a N64 game.
this game was the true halo
jet force jemini was a hard game
i could never find all the tribals, partly cause i'd rather kill them instead
was a classic game by rare though
What? I was just saying that to express that you're in the minority when it comes to thinking collecting the Tribals was a fun task in the game. Majority of the people I talk to, disliked that task. Especially when the game tells you that you have to do it near the end, just to get to Mizar.
i still own the cart for this game :)
Neither did I. I didn't even understand what those Furry little monsters that you had to save were. At first, I thought you were supposed to kill them, so I shot at it and it dissapeard... heh, I thought I had killed it.
True, but I never watched them. >_>
