Heyyy thanks mate 😀 awesome when I open TH-cam and see your profile pic and a supportive comment every time. Now… next time you should catch me off guard by absolutely roasting me on the next video 🤣
No way man I was thinking about Jet Set Radio vibes for my Blood Angels as I just got into Warhammer and you literally released this video thank you so much man I appreciate this
Awesome timing 😀🙌 also welcome to the Warhammer hobby mate, that sounds like such a cool scheme for Blood Angels, I’ll be keen to see how you paint them 😎
Oh wow! 😍 I bloody LOVE the cell shaded effect! Thats so cool! Normally I’d probably comment with some tedious in-joke or something, but I’ve not got anything this week - model blew my mind: it’s like looking directly at synth-wave music! Helluva grand job! 🫡
Ayyye hello mate! I was tempted to delay the video after you absolutely won the internet the other day with your underwater resin piece. That was so cool. I’ll try another diorama soon because you keep inspiring me. Nothing with that much resin though, I know to stay in my lane 🤣🙌
Thank you mate! Yeah I’m glad I gave it a go. Nothing original by me BUT I’m excited to start trying out new techniques to hopefully grow as a painter.
Haha yep was so cool watching him flick through everyone’s entries from the mid year comp and he saw yours and was like “yes! Like this!” 🥳 Yeah he’s a machine. Soon you guys will catch on that I’m making him paint all the models when ‘my hands’ look a bit smaller in the videos 🤣
Great video Mike! Commander Farsight came out looking AMAZING! The vibrant colours work so well! For it being your first time painting cell shaded / comic book style you have smashed it out of the park! For anyone who is considering joining the Discord painting comp, I highly recommend it! The community Mike has built on his Discord is incredibly supportive and we have a lot of fun cheering each other on, all while slaying our piles of grey plastic! Can’t wait to finish my entry for the October comp, and to start planning my December entry!
Great video, bright colours are awesome. I am trying to paint my minis with fun bright colours, but it can be hard to step outside the comfort zone, and stand out doing your own thing. Kind of like wearing normal clothes and blending in vs dressing in something that makes people stare at you.
Great work as always Mike! I'm constantly impressed by your ability to highlight so well and the black edges really tied together that cool comic book look and reminds me of Borderlands haha. Also I love how you show off fans models! I've gotten back into painting after a hiatus and might have to submit something myself!
Omg yes join the discord and introduce yourself to everyone as the OG subscriber of the channel 😎 I’d love to check out what you are painting. Oh and thanks for the feedback on the model 🙌
@@flashingbadgerpainting You flatter me man. It's definitely a special experience, seeing my minis shown in your video. You've built a great thing here
Then today this is the channel for you. Moving forward though, I’d like to introduce you to my buddy at Flashing Badger Aquariums. *cuts to me with a mustache in an aquarium shop*
This was less of a "how to" and more of a showcase. You didn't really teach or show any skills other than "follow your reference material" & "take the black lining slow* Production quality and final model were good though
Thanks for the feedback mate. Yep i discovered early on in this one that it was 3 straight forward steps. 1) base coat 2) add those panel highlights 3) black line. I didn’t think there was too much scope to talk people through what I was doing beyond the basics and not repeating it through fear of sounding condescending. Figured everyone would see what I was doing and otherwise just enjoy the ride. I’ll take it onboard though 👍

That comic book painting style really suits Tau models. You did a great job as always. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you dude 🤣 you have exactly 2 weeks to think of an in-joke for my next video 😎
@@flashingbadgerpainting 😂 oh, I’ve got ‘em, I just forgot them at the time 😎
@steveharrison76 🤣
It came out great! You nailed the comic book aesthetic!

Such fantastic job :) the comic book style seems to be making a comeback which is awesome. Great job

This almost makes me want to start tau....almost =p and I joined the discord, woo!
Woo! Welcome! Now let me jump across there and say welcome again 😅

Hey thanks 😀🙌
I need to paint something in this style soon, it looks so good.
Absolutely! What model are you thinking? I’m half tempted to paint my necromunda gang like this
I mean, I have a knight that needs painting. Maybe, maybe.
Excellent work great to see all the final models
Thank you mate 😀

Thanks so much for the feedback 🙂 well in this video I went bright colours and bright clothes so I think we both have the right idea 🙌

I would lovd to see the Warp Spider Phoenix Lord in Spider-Man colours when it gets released.
Oh! Cool idea 🫣😎
Really cool style don’t know if I’ve seen one shaded like this before
Thanks mate 😀

Finished the video now lol, looks sick. Its also a kick in the butt to work on this months entry
Haha thanks mate and yep, strategically timed release for mid way through this comp!
Bit late on the view, but hot damn the Farsight looks killer. And my Misha made it in, ill let her know shes famous now
Her agent can contact me for future appearances 😅
That fresh dancing made the video!!!!
🤣🤘 filming that in dead silence was pretty funny

Luv it! ❤
Thanks! 🙌
Two of the best reasons to be Australian. Gap Games and Tim Tams :)
👏🏻🙌
Looks fantastic man, as far as what I'd ask for if I win, I'd ask for Gazskull for my nephew's ork army
Thanks mate! And great choice 😎
@@flashingbadgerpainting you're welcome
Can you do some imperial fists? Great job on the comic mecha lord! Reminds me of something that would fight Godzilla
So true! Sure thing, I’ll cover Imperial Fists. I have a few videos to tackle first but keep an eye out for it.
TIM TAAAAAAMSSS!!!!
Yeeeeeoooowww! 🙌
My submission for this month is almost done!
Woo! Looking forward to it
Great paint job
Hey thanks mate, appreciate the support 😀
He is magnificent
Thank you mate 😀
@flashingbadgerpainting I definitely should have had my Muscle Bois painted in comic book style. God I have so much regret
Hahaha how dare you! 🤣 no take-backsies
Is there any style you can’t do? I challenge you to Bauhaus
You're early 😂
I get that kind of criticism at home, I don’t need it here as well 🤣

I'm still not liking the fish the paint job ain't bad at all my friend! And that comes from someone who has coloured a few things 🤣
Hahaha thank you mate. I promise, no more fish business for at least 6 months now 😉
fuck yeah t'au s'uits!!!
I knew someone out there would be hanging for some mech suit business 😎🙌

An hour late, tsk tsk
This is a joke btw
🤣
😂
So basically avoid using black as a paint color on the model. No black belts, no black boots, no black packs: pouchs, no black goggles.
Yep that was my take away. I’ve seen people flip it and use grey and white edge highlights over black which I think would look great as well.
This was less of a "how to" and more of a showcase.
