    Minor thing, but I absolutely LOVE the knob colours you’ve chosen for all of your SERGE modules.

    Would love to hear how pinging it sounds :)

      Sorry, I really should have covered that technique in more depth here. It does cater to a whole range of percussive tones, obviously dependent on how the bands and feedback are balanced.

    Which oscillator delay and vca did you use?

    • @teezdalien
      @teezdalien  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pretty sure it was the Pico dsp used for delay here. The vca was either the top part of the vcm or possibly the make noise moddemix..

    27:17 the slew glides on the pitch notes in the rene sequence - is that happening straight from the v/o output signal only from the rene or did you patch in a slew limiter somewhere?

    • @teezdalien
      @teezdalien  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't remember exactly to be honest. It was probably just the portamento v/oct input on the nto... but maybe it was put through a dusg.. I really can't remember.

      @@teezdalien Dunno if the pico delay is just another simple digital delay or if it adds any color. However I think I just like the sound of it somwhow, though I am just wondering if it even has its "own sound" (sounds like there is a bell shape eq boosting a little, somewhere in the high mids or highs). If that is not the case though, but only then, I would be getting an fx aid 4hp instead, as it offers so many more effects that can be loaded into it and I don't like the 3hp form factor that much. Thoughts? =D

      @@kaeptn Yeah, I feel like Pico DSP has been a pretty useful 3hp gap filler for myself. There's enough modes and flexibility to cover a decent range, but I never expected the greatest sounding fx from the start.. They sound good enough to be useful. I'm not familiar with FX aid and don't really tend to keep up with every new module released these days.

    Is this module strictly for mono signals? Would I need two of them to process a stereo signal?

    • @teezdalien
      @teezdalien  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes and no... It has two inputs so can potentially take in stereo signals, but the two main outputs are identical mono outputs summing both inputs..
      However the two comb outputs could be used to create two different processed mixes of the two inputs, if patched to a left/right output configuration, would be stereo..
      But I don't think the module will keep any stereo image at inputs intact, so you may very well require two instances if that's desired.

    hey just wanna say that last feedback patch at 28" is just incredible. weird after-images!
    You're just delaying the chain?

    • @teezdalien
      @teezdalien  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! The feedback is coming from both comb outputs which are being switched and then fed through a delay if I remember correctly.

      @@teezdalien New to modular so I'm still trying to wrap my head around this. Hope you don't mind my asking for a clarification- COMB 1 and COMB 2 are both fed into a sequential switch (like the Doepfer A-151?) and then, I'm assuming, triggered by your sequence or some LFO and then fed back into the ResEQ? One of the outputs of the sequential switch is also fed through a delay?
      Thanks again!

    • @teezdalien
      @teezdalien  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RioRoye No problem! That's pretty much exactly whats happening except the output from the A-151 switch is fed through a Pico DSP delay before returning to the ResEQ, there's no parallel output.

    would it be a good analogue substitute for rings?

    • @teezdalien
      @teezdalien  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd say no, not really a substitute. Even though they have certain technical similarities, they really are very different modules. The resEQ can be pinged for percussive tones, but it's pretty finicky to tune and set decay times and sounds worlds apart from Rings.

    • @vinylarchaeologist

      meerkatz - I’ve heard the Doepfer analogue BBD (one of their shorter delay versions) do a convincing Rings sound.
