S20FE is the best phone of the FE series because of expandable storage, and better than S20 and S20 plus because of the true 8MP 3x optical zoom instead of their 64MP 3x hybrid zoom lens with just 1.1x optical zoom, and then software digital zoom

Excellent and honest video. My wife had her cloud red phone delivered to the home yesterday morning (COVID-19 is making us lazy!) trading in her old S9 plus. She absolutely loves it, and you're right, it's a lot of phone for the money. The screen is super responsive and snappy and video looks good. Sound is very impressive particularly compared to the Pixel 5 that she rejected as soon as she heard the audio on it. I have a Note10 plus and I'm jealous of the great zoom on the FE. Have to be honest though, maybe it's my eyes but I can't feel a difference between 120hz and 60hz. My wife does though! Just tried a night mode shot, it's as good if not better than my Note10 plus. I'm not too jealous though as she got free Galaxy Buds +, doesn't like in ear buds so I took them to replace my 1st gen Galaxy Buds.. Big difference in sound quality, more than I expected.
If you were to use the 120hz for, say, a month, then go back to 60hz, you'd notice a difference. Same thing happened with me on monitors. I had a 60hz. Got a 144hz. Didn't really see a difference. After having used it for a time, I needed a second monitor for my setup. Nothing extravagant, so I just grabbed a 60hz. I immediately could "feel" the difference between the two.
I owned a number of Samsungs before switching to Apple. The Samsungs were great, for about 12-18 months. Then they all self destructed in one way or another, almost like they were engineered to fail so I'd have to go buy another phone. Got an iPhone 6S+ and it hasn't so much as twitched in 4 years. Still works like new. If Samsung had that kind of quality, I'd be happy to switch back. The S20 FE certainly makes me want to. I just don't know if I want to spend a bunch of money only to have the thing brick itself before its time. My iPhone isn't anywhere near as flashy, but it hasn't failed. Reliability/longevity have to count for something when you're looking at the kind of money they want for phones nowadays.
It's really nice listening to all the good specs the phone has. I have one on order and when i get it i hope it can make a phone call as well. Both of my previous Samsung phones had very low call volume where i needed to use the speaker to hear what the caller was saying. Looking forward to a better phone experience not camera experience remembering it's called a mobile phone and not mobile camera:)
Just upgraded (don't have the S20 FE yet) from my S10E (a phone I've really liked) on a whim without any research (liked the $ upgrade price). Now I'm excited to get it. Thanks! None of your cons would affect me in the least. Plastic back? Who doesn't buy a case?
I purchased this phone for my husband as an early Christmas gift and it truly is as amazing as they say. Best Samsung phone so far, I still use my Samsung Galaxy S8 and absolutely love the smoothness and how it operates in general.
I've been trying to figure out which phone to upgrade my S8 to... and I'm curious if the new S21 is a downgrade compared to the S20 FE or even the S8. Any and all opinions welcome!
I think plastic(specially polycarbonate) is the best material for phone. Light, indestructible, and virtually transparent for signals. Glass looks good, but the thing is you can look at as you keep a cheap case on it. Glass back is worst material for phones which is sadly surprisingly popular. I love to see Lumia phone like treatment and embracement of plastic material which not only was built like tank but also looks premium at the same time.
It's because they still want to give you a gentle reminder that this is not their best phone, it's why they also made the bezels a touch thicker While it's a killer phone for its price Samsung still wants to let us know that it isn't the best they offer
Great review. I'm being forced to upgrade my international unlocked Galaxy S10+ since carriers are no longer supporting it. Was able to buy this one for $125 with my S10+ as a trade in. I wasn't happy about it at first, but this sounds like a very cheap upgrade.
This is the phone I've been waiting for to upgrade from the aging but still awesome S7. I need wireless charging and NONE of the A series phones have it. The S20 too expensive so I waited....the Pixel 4a looked Very promising but no microSD card expansion....then the FE came to be. I got the Red Verizon variant while my wife got the Mint. We wanted to pay them in full but the Best Buy Black Friday deal for $349 was only with Verizon's installment plan. Only $15/month each phone. Done. So far, no issues at all.
I tried this yesterday. Was blown away. Its literarly head to head with iphone 11 pro max and s20 plus. Price wise and the quality... unmatched. I am all about videos and photos and honestly, even pixel 4a and iphones... its all really nitpicking and they are so close that the difference doesnt matter. But the price does. I imagine this will sell like hot cakes on black friday. And I have seen gcam port on this... even better photos. Just not video. Do a gcam comparison vs stock fe cam.
@@ninimagic Better than this is only a movie camera. Iphone 11 has a better video. But... not by much. I am getting this for video and photos. Super chrisp. Stable. Colors are amazing and I really should go search small differences between the two. I think that if Samsung drops thr price a bit... this will sell like hot cookies. You get flagship. Period. Screw 8K nonsence. Get it and record man.
@John Rock There was an update released this week which addressed touchscreen and camera issues. I've seen varying degrees of success on the internet but it certainly seems to have improved mine, particularly the fingerprint scanner.
Have you had any touch screen issues? I have had mine for about 4 days and when I play some games the joystick locks and won't unlock for a few seconds :/
It's a pretty awesome phone and to me I don't care if it's made by gold, glass or plastic. I always hold rubber in my hand as I always put a case on my phones. They also look better with them imo. The S20 FE even has DeX, like wow! I'm glad I bought the 512 Note9 though, loving it these past 7-8 months :)
I traveled out of body and mentally planted the suggestion of a less expensive flagshio in the head of Kim Hyun Suk, a picture of an affordable S20 crushing an apple.
I'm always confused with the problem of a missing headphone jack. Bluetooth HS anyone? Also if someone wants to know the song name in 4:22 , it's called "On and On" by Cartoon.
I got this phone just last week. The battery is abysmal compared to my previous phone Oneplus 6t. It is at 30% at the end of the working day while the Oneplus was usually arround 60%
So glad I found your channel, have just bingewatched your videos to find my next phone. Love the detail you go in to, I think you're unbiased, and you consider every aspect. It's been very helpful, thank you!!
I have the cloud red S20 FE. This phone has been excellent so far! I traded in my Note 8 for $225. I ended up paying $475 through Samsung's website. Definitely an upgrade! I didn't use the S pen often, so I don't miss it a lot.
You made up my mind! Was struggling to decide if the additional $300 was worth it for the better cameras and RAM. Just going to save that money for a camera. Thanks!
I just got this phone yesterday in cloud white.. being a samsung user since the first galaxy S and the first galaxy note and coming from using galaxy s10e , i can confidently say that this is one of the best price to performance phone samsung ever released in their smartphone history.. i love every bit of it.. from the form factor , performance , cameras and the battery life.. i can't believe myself that i actually must say that right now samsung make the better flagship killer than oneplus.. lol
Love my SE and I honestly like the plastic back a lot. It reminds a bit me of when I was little and I would get those prepaid phones from AT&T. Obviously this phone is much better but it really brings back those happy memories for me.
I bought the Navy Blue 256GB 5G (Unlocked) straight from Samsung which came with the SD 865 and 8GB of RAM. I am pretty sure the 128GB unlocked version comes with 6GB RAM and the 256GB version comes with the 8GB of RAM. Luckily I bought this phone 3 weeks ago and was able to dig up some useful information before I made my purchase. If you ask me, Samsung did a fairly poor job in regards to the specs and information about this phone and its variants. But I am extremely happy with this phone! The price I paid which included the $210 trade-in credit I received for my iPhone 7; and after paying that extra $60 to get the 256GB version over the 128GB (which was worth it just for the extra 2GBs of RAM) the added storage was just the "icing on the cake." This phone is truly the best mid-range phone for the price.
Just picked this up a few days ago love it. AT&T has a deal where it is $10/month for 36 months plus tax due at point of sale. All in all really nice for just about $400 bucks.
You are not wrong. I have had this phone for a year and I would not get anything else for now. It’s a great device and a good value. Photos are amazing, even in low light and up to 10x zoom ,no problem. Thanks for the great video
There's a huge controversy surround this phone and its touch issues, more specifically, the phone failing to register multipoint touch properly. Buyers beware.
I already got one. PSA. If you have T-Mobile, you can get it for the price of a line for 2 years. AKA like $250. And you can get Galaxy Buds+ or Buds Live for half off at a T-Mobile store.
@@tobbybill is that with a carrier activation? I just bought 2 from Best Buy as a wedding gift and went to Costco first. They didn't even have the unlocked model available to sell.
Cloud red because I'm a Liverpool fans. This is honestly my favorite phone ever. I loved my OnePlus 6T, Nexus 6P and galaxy S4 but this phone blows them all away.
What about the gorilla glass 3 on this phone? i mean, if the phone drops and breaks, which i tend to drop my phone a lot, then it gets you back another 150-200 dollars worth of damage. i hope my s20 fe does not break at any fall. i just bought it.
I was lucky to be in the market for a new phone when I found this one and a month ago and bought it right away. I'm used to using budget phones (Redmi Note 9S) and it's nice having the extras without having to pay so much.
Nah, I wouldn’t worry too much about the camera. The A71 is solid enough. I’d get the FE for its 120hz display or additional charging options & water resistance before I’d consider the camera. I’ve shot hundreds of pics with the A71 now and I still have no complaints.
In my country , S20 cost 100 dollars more than FE , both use SD865 but S20 gets more ram (6G VS 12G) , better vibration experience , 25 watts charger in the box , so I buy S20 rather than FE and I think it's a good deal , just my opinion.
maybe the S20/S20+ didn't sell enough due to the pandemic, and they made some small changes to clear the stocks of parts from suppliers through S20 FE to clear ways for S21/S21+
If you have the extra $$$ the S20 Ultra is a great buy from like Amazon renewed (don’t don’t don’t pay retail for that phone.) I’d get it for the specs though. The space zoom for example is underwhelming. I might even suggest the Note 20 Ultra instead actually
Just got mine 3 days ago. Not only was it cheap, but I also got a JBL Go wifi speaker and a Samsung heart monitor watch as freebies. This is the best purchase I have ever made.

I got this a few days ago. I absolutely love it. Gaming at 120hz is so smooth. This phone feels like one of the best values out there.
Is it worth
Ordered the cloud mint yesterday directly from Samsung. I hope it ships out faster than what it said...
Cant wait to get it!
I'm number 1 fan of you TechDaily
Thanks Shane! 🙌🏻
Ehem I beg to differ lol
💥 thank you. My sentiment exactly 💯
Have had this phone over a year had to replace once due to a broken screen but buy far the best phone I've ever owned
Currently have the iPhone XS Max but I’m definitely going to get this phone next as my contract is now up! Moving to android
Got the 11 and same. Was looking at the s20 plus but then this one released and I was like “well why pay more for the same
I purchased this phone for my husband as an early Christmas gift and it truly is as amazing as they say.
Me to. I suppose it depends what's important to you
You can buy almost 2 FE for the price of one S21
@@TheDT212
Should I get an S21?
@@PrinceJes For a fair price, i would say yes. Or maybe wait for the launch of S21 FE
3:37 why they put a metal ring around the hole punch tho...
This is one of the only things I HATE about this phone.
It's because they still want to give you a gentle reminder that this is not their best phone, it's why they also made the bezels a touch thicker
While it's a killer phone for its price Samsung still wants to let us know that it isn't the best they offer
Been waiting for this 💪
🙌🏻
i can't watch these videos in the day cus they just lull me to sleep.. you're not boring you're just extraordinarily calm
.What I've noticed is that most phone reviewers tend to be like that. Maybe it's to be professional. 🤔
That's why you should play it on 1.75x speed
Great review. I'm being forced to upgrade my international unlocked Galaxy S10+ since carriers are no longer supporting it. Was able to buy this one for $125 with my S10+ as a trade in. I wasn't happy about it at first, but this sounds like a very cheap upgrade.
Cloud Orange 🧡 is my favorite because it's almost looks golden...
Got that color, its very different than any other colorways, and its pretty unique
Do a gcam comparison vs stock fe cam.
can i know what do you think of the video quality? I'm deciding between iphone 11 and this one
This S20 FE doesn't have any compromises until you get the 4G version!
@jdouglas8585 Not necessarily just the 5g but the Snapdragon Chip. It's almost worth the extra for that over the Exynos alone.
I traveled out of body and mentally planted the suggestion of a less expensive flagshio in the head of Kim Hyun
Suk, a picture of an affordable S20 crushing an apple.
I'm always confused with the problem of a missing headphone jack. Bluetooth HS anyone? Also if someone wants to know the song name in 4:22 , it's called "On and On" by Cartoon.
This is such a great review! It makes me so much more excited to my new FE!
I just got my s20 fe yesterday and I originally had a s8+ lol you can say I am very happy with the upgrade
I got this phone just last week. The battery is abysmal compared to my previous phone Oneplus 6t. It is at 30% at the end of the working day while the Oneplus was usually arround 60%
Then you should change to 60hz
@@jirou6228 I keep it on battery saver most of the time. It beats the purpose of getting a 120Hz phone tho.
Its 2024 and I got a renewed one for $155.00 it hasn't arrived yet but I hope it works well.
So glad I found your channel, have just bingewatched your videos to find my next phone. Love the detail you go in to, I think you're unbiased, and you consider every aspect. It's been very helpful, thank you!!
I'm deciding between this phone and the OnePlus 8T.
Oh man that’s tough..we don’t get the OnePlus 8T here in the US, but thats probably the phone to go with if you can get it
@@TechDaily oneplus 8t is being sold here though in the u.s
I saw MKBHD recomanded the S20FE as his allround pick from Pixel 5 and oneplus 8T.
The OnePlus 8T is only $50 more, but you get 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage, really the only thing you lose out on is the telephoto lens.
@@shiransandeep3290 when did he say that?
Nabbed the red model and love the aesthetic esp the chrome sides
RED IS HOT!!
So glad I got this one. I’m also glad that it has a plastic back as it seems less likely to break. It’s generally just fine with no real hiccups.
Moving over from the Pixel series to the S20fe, thanks for the review!
I'd be so interested in how you're finding it? I'm swapping my pixel 4xl tomorrow for the s20 FE!
Got the 4g version with the Exymoss chip 4 days ago. It works great. Awesome camera and fantastic screen.
I've ordered the blue one
i was expecting you would do a video quality test :’)
Goodl
I have the cloud red S20 FE. This phone has been excellent so far! I traded in my Note 8 for $225. I ended up paying $475 through Samsung's website. Definitely an upgrade! I didn't use the S pen often, so I don't miss it a lot.
Thanks for your input, exactly what I'm considering of doing. My Note 8's ear speaker is super weak now. Hardly use the s pen either.
I’m coming from an iPhone X, so this has been a very solid contender. Thank you for the help on my decision.
Just ordered mine today. Excited to check it out!
You made up my mind! Was struggling to decide if the additional $300 was worth it for the better cameras and RAM. Just going to save that money for a camera. Thanks!
I just got this phone yesterday in cloud white.. being a samsung user since the first galaxy S and the first galaxy note and coming from using galaxy s10e , i can confidently say that this is one of the best price to performance phone samsung ever released in their smartphone history.. i love every bit of it.. from the form factor , performance , cameras and the battery life.. i can't believe myself that i actually must say that right now samsung make the better flagship killer than oneplus.. lol
Had mine for 2 days now. Can't say I'm too impressed with the battery life. Even with battery saver turned on.
how many hours can you use it for a day?
@@eufriahvillena7274 This all depends on each user.
Maybe you got the exynos version ?
Had this phone got 2 weeks now. Absolutely stellar performance. Edge to edge . Each pixel illuminated. True OLED screen. I've got 35 hr battery life. 120 hz rate, 875 snapdragon up to 1 terabyte expanded storage. Amazing!!
Great video my man will definitely be picking this one up.
Thanks! Hope you enjoy it!
Love my SE and I honestly like the plastic back a lot. It reminds a bit me of when I was little and I would get those prepaid phones from AT&T. Obviously this phone is much better but it really brings back those happy memories for me.
Have you used the camera in night mode?
@@zootbepraised yeah it's great. The camera can capture more than my eyes can in the dark so it's great for seeing at night.
@@jamespostle6894 I'm considering it but it's gonna be able to handle discos lol
@@zootbepraised oh yeah it'll handle the discos just fine I promise lol.
I got the unlock version red color from Samsung with 6 gigs of ram in the USA.. where did you get 8 gigs varient
I have an S8 and it's great, but I cracked the screen. Is the S20 FE worth the upgrade, even without coming with earphones?
The mint color looks great in person. My favorite for sure. Picked it up for $499!
8 or 6 gb?
@@sayemulhaque3814 6 gb but I couldn't even find 8. Honestly you won't even notice the difference.

I guess I am shopping at the wrong places.
Just picked this up a few days ago love it. AT&T has a deal where it is $10/month for 36 months plus tax due at point of sale. All in all really nice for just about $400 bucks.
I bought it instead of the note 20 and now I watched the video to satisfy myself with what I picked
Yeah the pinch-zoom is F'd
I already got one.
PSA. If you have T-Mobile, you can get it for the price of a line for 2 years. AKA like $250. And you can get Galaxy Buds+ or Buds Live for half off at a T-Mobile store.
$550 on Amazon right now. Better value and specs than the Pixel 5.
I just bought my mom one for $349 at Costco.
@@tobbybill how? Costco online?
@@tobbybill is that with a carrier activation? I just bought 2 from Best Buy as a wedding gift and went to Costco first. They didn't even have the unlocked model available to sell.

Cloud red because I'm a Liverpool fans. This is honestly my favorite phone ever. I loved my OnePlus 6T, Nexus 6P and galaxy S4 but this phone blows them all away.
Liverpool FC 🙌🏻❤️ How's the phone been mate? Im getting mine this week 😎
I really want this phone but is it a upgrade from my s10 plus
What about the gorilla glass 3 on this phone? i mean, if the phone drops and breaks, which i tend to drop my phone a lot, then it gets you back another 150-200 dollars worth of damage. i hope my s20 fe does not break at any fall. i just bought it.
Ordered mine today in the same colour, reason being my S10+ screen broke after 8 months and I'm not paying £300 to fix it 😂
Same those s10 curved screens suck mine lasted 4 months
I was lucky to be in the market for a new phone when I found this one and a month ago and bought it right away. I'm used to using budget phones (Redmi Note 9S) and it's nice having the extras without having to pay so much.
Great review 👏. I just bought galaxy a71 last month. So for the camera alone is it worth replace galaxy a71 with galaxy s20 fe ?
Nah, I wouldn’t worry too much about the camera. The A71 is solid enough. I’d get the FE for its 120hz display or additional charging options & water resistance before I’d consider the camera. I’ve shot hundreds of pics with the A71 now and I still have no complaints.
@@TechDaily thank you. I will keep my a71 then
@@truepavan
Wait for s21 fe or a72
Absolutely, ois, flagship grade shots camera performance.
In my country , S20 cost 100 dollars more than FE , both use SD865 but S20 gets more ram (6G VS 12G) , better vibration experience , 25 watts charger in the box , so I buy S20 rather than FE and I think it's a good deal , just my opinion.
Converted my wife from iPhone gave her my new S20 and I got me the FE today.
maybe the S20/S20+ didn't sell enough due to the pandemic, and they made some small changes to clear the stocks of parts from suppliers through S20 FE to clear ways for S21/S21+
how about the s20 ultra ? my dad birthday is coming up soon and i want to gift him a phone and im still thinking between s20 fe and s20 ultra
If you have the extra $$$ the S20 Ultra is a great buy from like Amazon renewed (don’t don’t don’t pay retail for that phone.) I’d get it for the specs though. The space zoom for example is underwhelming. I might even suggest the Note 20 Ultra instead actually
If you consider S20 ultra dont buy it. I have note 20 ultra it is amazing smartphone.
Id suggest u get him a Note 20 Ultra instead
Just got mine 3 days ago. Not only was it cheap, but I also got a JBL Go wifi speaker and a Samsung heart monitor watch as freebies. This is the best purchase I have ever made.

You forgot to mention that after third update, screen issues still continuous. Everyone at forums are starting to claim its faulty hardware
Its a better option than the new iPhones(?)
Too soon to say, I don’t have the new iPhones...yet 👀

New iPhones are gonna be hard to repair if even possible seems they coded the hardware to the main board.
Why couldnt they make it smaller? I have a galaxy s8 rn and was interested in this, 5.8inches to 6.5 feels like a big jump
