The review I have been waiting for! Galaxy S20 FE is the biggest slap on the face for the people who bought the regular Note20. Note20 should've been priced like this cuz it's got non expandable storage, no 120Hz screen refresh rate. Unless you will use the S-Pen a lot of times then you better just get an S20 FE + Galaxy Buds Live + Samsung Care+ + a 25W Charger (which sadly didn't come with the box of the S20 FE). Thanks for uploading this BTW GSMarena!
I upgraded to this phone from a S10 and its been fantastic 👍🏼 I got the galaxy buds for free and purchased the 25w charger to sweeten the pot even more. I've been talking to people who own the note 20 ultra(exynos) which is supposed to be the flagship, yet can't keep up with the fe battery life and CPU performance.
There's always a new phone just around the corner. If you bought your phone and were happy with it till a new one came out, there's no reason to not be happy with it now. There's always something new and better but it doesn't make your life better by having it or worse by not.
1:28 I don't understand why reviewers do this. Unless you are recording a video at 120FPS and viewing this video on a 120hz (or higher) monitor, the viewers will see will see absolutely no difference between the two. You really have to see it in person. And frankly, I think all the hubbub over high refresh is silly anyway. Why the heck should I care if the scrolling looks smoother? I don't scroll for pleasure; I scroll to get to the content that I want to view, and it doesn't matter very much at all once the scrolling stops whether it's 60hz or 120hz.
I have this phone and I turned off the 120 hz feature for that reason. It looks the same aside from when you're scrolling and I don't scroll for pleasure either.
I think they tried to show it by slowing down the video, but I agree it is a bit useless. It is better to see it in real life and in my very limited experience it is noticeable and gives a smoother experience (scrolling/animations/snappiness). The biggest difference people usually notice, from reading comments, is when they get back from a 120hz to a 60hz. I guess it is a bit a similar situation as when I got my HTC Hero, I thought "this screen size is all I need". Then some years later I couldn't imagine using such a small screen, but only because I got used to the bigger ones.
What's the point of putting a comparison of the 120 hertz and 60-hertz display in a youtube video? Most people don't have a screen that can display 120 hertz and I'm not even sure if youtube supports high refresh rate videos.
@@BrandoTheMando47 although it's at Houston Distribution center which has a 1.2 rating and apparently the packages are kept there for super long so I'm super worried about that
Sadly many YT channels simply do not research, instead of promoting phones without telling the whole story, they should do some fact-checking? We can buy, here in the UK, the S20+, either 4g or 5g £30-50 cheaper than the respective prices for the S20FE! These are new from Authorised Samsung resellers that are discounting unsold stock due to the poor sales of the s20 line. How can a channel fully recommend the FE when you can buy the better spec devices for less? Of course, in a couple of months the S20FE will be cheaper, but in the here and now I would recommend buying EU stock of the S20+ and get a better phone for less!
I don't understand why phone companies make different versions of phones, with different chipsets, for different regions. Doesn't that only make design, development and support costs higher for themselves? Same with different variations within a product family - different screens, cameras, chipsets, internals. I can understand when its a matter of cost cutting to meet price points, but it's so all over the place that it makes little sense to me.
Agreed it's dumb. Main reason I won't support samsung is because they do this bullshit. Had a Galaxy Note with Exynos and it was throttling like crazy and got way too hot for comfortable use. Got myself a SD765G phone now and it doesn't ever get hot at all or throttles.
Samsung's profit will increase if they use Exynos instead of SD chips. And releasing different models will increase no. of consumers. Some people who didn't buy one model might get interested in the next model. And once people get hooked to a brand, it is less likely for them to switch to another brand. Samsung is probably using SD to compete with the rest of the phones. And pushing Exynos to increase their profit.
In India reviewer who got unit from Samsung are not allowed to comment on SOT (exynos processor) or endurance ratings, just a general perception on battery
I feel like manufacturers spend more money and make the phones cost more because of their cameras. I don't care about a camera on the phone. Why can't they just make a good quality phone with a great battery life without the added costs of cameras?
Recently got the s20 fe and it for some reason always turn my TH-cam videos from the full screen into the small picture by picture screen if it's not touched every five minutes and has black flickering occasionally. Not a huge fan of it so far.
@@theshantib yes, the heart rate feature of S9 was a great addition. All Samsung smartphones released before 2020 and in the S20 Series itself didn't sacrifice on the features that people actually needed for so called "new innovative" features that companies have introduced, which if we think about it, is for their own profit and not following the needs of the customer who uses the phone, the loss of primary needs of a phone like storage (sd card slot) and headphone jack(audio). For the former we have to buy a seperate device like a costly hard disk drive, and freaking carry it always allongside our smartphone and for the latter we have to buy a passive device like a dongle

It's rather disappointing to see plastic, slower wired charging, etc. on a phone for a price similar to that of last year's s10e which had gorilla glass 5 on both sides, the same main camera and charger, as the regular s10. Even the a70 and a71 come with 25-watt chargers and they're waaaay cheaper. A great phone, but it could've been exceptional if they'd not deliberately skimped on such features...
Yeah true to that if they atleast made effort to include the 25W charger out of the box... It would've been a really great overall no compromise flagship.
Back panel should be made from plastic and not gorrila glass as you will ALWAYS be putting on a case. Aux cable is not needed anymore as most people have adapted by using wireless earphones. So it does make sense for this FE
I've read about touch screen issues with this phone. Since you didn't mention it, is it safe to assume that Samsung fixed this issue, or the issue isn't as widespread as the online articles made it seem?
I was Angry to Samsung for poking fun at Apple at first in pricing but doing it themselves later. And even got more angry after they released note 20 here for over 1k in Euros and it had the inferior Exynos. But this is step to the better. Really considering this or Oneplus
I love it. I will pick one up for €190, that's only €30 more than my Moto G30 cost 4 years ago. The battery and UI will be worse but the camera and processor so much better! I feel like I could use this phone as a dedicated camera and my older phone for all the other stuff while travelling. Then I won't have to worry about powerbanks anymore, which are slow to charge and often unplug in my backpack! Seems like a great deal. I've looked at action cameras as well but this camera and audio are better for the price. A phone is also easier to carry around every day. It's weird that the S22 has a worse battery, 3700 mAh instead of 4500 on the S20 FE. You'd need to buy a S23 to get the same battery again, but that's an almost €350 jump in price! I'm happier to stay in the sub €400 price range. These phones are already incredible if you compare them to the standard of budget smartphones just 10 years ago!
I have the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G. Total waste of money, what he fails to mention is the screen lock that pops up every few seconds, that you constantly have to swipe away, while trying to play the game apps or watch movies and videos. I have searched the web high and low to see if there is some option to turn it off or remove it. Tons of videos on removing the screen lock for when you turn the phone on, all of which I have done, but no option to removing the one that continuously pops up every few seconds. Worse phone I have ever seen. Makes me wonder what else he fails to mention of other useless features that serve no purpose other than to annoy people.

Also, the 4G just got a Snapdragon version as well, which is much better than the Exynos. The perfect cutbacks, and the phone was on sale where I live for €328. (Was discounted from $650 to $429, with a promotional $100 extra mail-in value for my old phone, a cheap Huawei from 2015, that was originally worth 1$ according to them. So they gave $101 for it.
I also upgraded from 2015 Huawei mine was P8😀 This is ridiculously good phone

Hi, I bought this phone in blue but it came in broken (wifi antena was not working tried everything even went to a certified Samsung store ;\) so I'm in the process of returning and rebuying.
25W charger actually only charges 18 min faster than the 15W charger from 0% to 100% so I can see why Samsung decided to save money there
I upgraded to this phone from a S10 and its been fantastic 👍🏼 I got the galaxy buds for free and purchased the 25w charger to sweeten the pot even more.

Y'all stupid buying exynos first place don't blame others for making shit chip 🤣🤣🤣
@@justsomepandawithinternet What about all the people who don't know about processors?. Calm yourself kid

In India reviewer who got unit from Samsung are not allowed to comment on SOT (exynos processor) or endurance ratings, just a general perception on battery

The S20FE still remains one of the greatest wonders from Samsung
No s9 quality is much better in regards to quality, and it doesn't even have heart rate monitor. It's the worst

The sound dynamic jitters and freezes in winter, you cant hear the phone call
It's rather disappointing to see plastic, slower wired charging, etc. on a phone for a price similar to that of last year's s10e which had gorilla glass 5 on both sides, the same main camera and charger, as the regular s10. Even the a70 and a71 come with 25-watt chargers and they're waaaay cheaper. A great phone, but it could've been exceptional if they'd not deliberately skimped on such features...

Which do you recommend between s20fe 5g and 11t for everyday work and games?
I've read about touch screen issues with this phone. Since you didn't mention it, is it safe to assume that Samsung fixed this issue, or the issue isn't as widespread as the online articles made it seem?

This phone is great in every aspect. Thank you for the great reviews. Greetings from a fan of the Netherlands 👍
