      Actually, if you really pay attention to the original, it's not the two words that change the meaning. He was being up front and explicit from jump. A lot of people just missed it so he had to make it clear 😂. "Leave you with that afterglow"?😂

      @imajinallthepurple sorry if I misunderstood what you meant, it's just hilarious to me how people people get caught up in the beat, his vocals, choreography (all of which is outstanding by the way) and miss or gloss over what the lyrics are saying, but when he expresses it bluntly by changing one word like you said they're so shocked. But then I see a lot of people miss seeing how the boys are on a mission to systematically tear down idol culture. Not all, because ARMYs are very intelligent, but some.

    I don’t even consider JK’s album as kpop. It’s a straight pop album that rivals the top western pop artists imo. His album should not be delegated to the kpop categories when it come award season. He for sure should be in the major categories with this one. Thanks for the reaction!! 💜💜💜💜 Borahae Armys!!

    • @Imme_begin
      @Imme_begin 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      The problem with that is if you kick him out of kpop )(for an all-English album) just because he didn’t sing in Korean or use Korean producers (he is still a Kpop artist), then he wouldn’t get most of the awards / wins he got because Western Music still isn’t very accepting. They are getting more so, but I don’t want it to be where both side say, nah he doesn’t deserve this because of some unwritten made up in people’s minds rules. To me it’s like making him a man with no nation.

    • @quinettesanders7999
      @quinettesanders7999 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      @@Imme_begin They use the kpop categories as an excuse to continue to not be excepting. There are plenty of “rnb” artists who sing straight up pop as well but they don’t put them in the running for the major categories. My point is that putting him in the kpop category is just another tactic for them to continue to keep the system as it is and not allow them to compete with the huge western artists because they know they won’t be able to continue to give their fav pop artists awards over and over every year without question.

    • @OT7_DopeOldARMY

      @@Imme_begin Jung Kook has stated his goal very plainly. He wants to be both a K-pop idol and a pop star - the only artist capable of that crossover. He can't do that if we - or the Western industry - box him into only K-pop simply because he is Korean by birth and nationality. It's utterly ridiculous that the US award shows, etc. put a song written/produced by Western writers/producers, has a Western pop sound/feel, and is sung entirely in English, into a "K-pop" category of any kind just because the guy who sang it happens to be Korean.
      Also, BTS also left "K-pop" behind as a band years ago. We shouldn't be boxing them into that category either. BTS has made it clear that they intend to break barriers/boundaries, perform in whatever genre of music they want. That is much more important to every one of them than awards. Our job is to stream and buy so that they CAN do whatever music they want and we will still support them. Do they like to win awards? Sure...and that's also why we stream, buy, and vote - to eventually force the western industry to take them seriously and give them their just desserts. BUT, that's going to take time...they are fighting us tooth and nail.

    • @G-grandma_Army
      @G-grandma_Army หลายเดือนก่อน

      But he shouldn’t be excluded from KPop awards because he is still a KPop singer and is a huge part of KPop history. I agree though that he should considered for the main Western awards.

    He shook up the whole industry of K-pop what you need to understand is K-pop is not a genre is an industry and its in the industry that usually comes with the items having a squeaky clean image BTS what they always do breaking down walls paving the way for other artists to be free surpassing records. But always keeping with the message be yourself be happy with who you are love yourself completely as You Are basically live and let live. This song version what is very important for JK's journey it was his successful attempt at shedding is youngest baby boy bunny image and becoming more of a man in the public eye. While JK is a K-IDOL, and he's proud of it, this is not a K-Pop song. He wanted to try Western Pop Music, so he used Western writers, producers, and sang in English, and he promoted in the USA and in the UK. Even his dancers are not K-POP, they are famous dancers and choreographers from the West. This is 100% Western POP Music. His whole album was. Just sayin' I get tired of hearing K-POP is for young people and they don't cuss. Because yes, they do. BTS debuted in 2013 as a HIP HOP IDOL group, and many of their B sides are hard hitting rap songs. I can't wait until they come back from the military and do a comeback. That tour I definitely will be going to.
    By the way, I'm 58 years old, and BTS debuted in 2013, not 2014. So 11 years they have been supported by ARMY's. They started out with about 200 fans, and now they have over 350 million fans. Pretty amazing. I became ARMY during the pandemic in 2020. I love these guys, they are so talented, and the best humans in my opinion. Humble, and genuine, and they love their fans.

    68 yr old conservative grandma here and although this isn’t on my playlist, I am fine with JK singing what he wants. He’s brave to do this. I can tell you the Korean idols and actors LOVE that he did this. He is opening a lot of doors. I bought all of his albums and singles basically as history for my kids who don’t even listen to BTS. It’s possible they will be worth something someday. He’s the first (and only, to date) Asian to get a Billboard All-Kill (Number 1 on Hot 100, Global 200 and Global 200 excl US). Also, this song holds the record for the fastest song to get 1 Billion streams. Pass Miley Cyrus’s “Flowers”.
    The only difference is changing how “we” could ride to how “you” … and then the obvious! 😊
    I’m not sure that MOST ARMY has been with them since 2014. That doesn’t make sense to me because they have over 10 years and have grown and grown over that time.

    71 year old Army here. I mentioned this before, but you must have missed it. 👇🏼
    This was his first Official solo release leading up to his all English American Pop album titled "Golden". None of JK's official solo releases are Kpop (Korean Pop). They are all American productions and should not be considered Kpop for that reason. Even his dancers are famous American dancer/choreographers. This song was written and produced by Grammy Award winning Producer of the Year Andrew Watt and a team of notable American/Canadian songwriters Cirkut, Jon Bellion and Ali Tamposi. It was produced by the Canadian producer/songwriter known as Cirkut. It was recorded at Watt's L.A. Studio and the video was filmed at Universal Studios in Hollywood CA.
    Andrew Watt has produced albums for Justin Bieber, Miley Cyrus, Post Malone, the Rolling Stones new album and other notables. The Canadian producer Cirkut also has impressive credits such as producing for "The Weeknd" and others. Watt and Cirkut plus others from their team of songwriters were also involved with his third official solo release "Standing Next to You" and also his album "Golden". Usher featured the remix of that song on his new album released last February. "Seven" broke streaming records right out of the gate and was the fastest song in Spotify history to achieve 100 million streams. It is now over 1.4 billion streams. It was followed by "3D" Feat. Jack Harlow. His album "Golden" that includes songwriters Ed Sheeran and Shawn Mendes has surpassed 4 billion streams. Jung kook once stated he wanted to be a giant pop star and his dream has come true.
    I recommend his TSX performance where he performs 5 tracks from his album. He is only the second artist in history after Post Malone to be invited to perform on that stage in Times Square in NYC.
    Thanks for your reaction! 💜

      Why is it such a big deal if it is KPop or not. Who owns that description? Who determines that? He deserves to be recognized by his own industry, too. He IS a KPop idol. I see you say this on almost every JK song, Why is it so important that he not get credit for being a KPop idol singing more traditional western music. HE mentioned that while he was recording he was proud to be a KPop idol and wanted to do his best to represent them. I just wish you wouldn’t make this such a big deal. It’s not our place to definitely define what is KPop and what is not.

    You listened the softer version already.. ..Which never was soft to begin with if you look the watered down lyrics :
    "I kiss your waist" (Really he's going to stop there? With his big brothers? Yeah su~urree...)
    "I take my hands and trace your lines" (nice and cute, well almost.)
    "It's the we we can ride" (He is not talking car rides here - Man had his living room coated with mattresses at one point, like normal people could have carpets on the floor! - His band mates teased him about it!)
    ( *in this E-version this is You ride, not We.. Meaning is actually the same, but some people were thinking cars rides, or whatever lifes wild ride, in the watered down version ..*)
    "So break me off another time" (This has a definite meaning that is not cute and Disney! This is not the first time BTS member has gone into Urban Dictionary and just gone off in the deep end of the place..)
    "You wrap around me and give me life" ( I'm quite sure I have seen this wording in certain type of a literature to describe a certain action taking to it's certain type of a end.)
    "And that's why night after night I'll be loving you right" (When you know what the song is about you can only read this the one way it is meant to.)
    Seven days a week I'll be loving you right seven days a week. (He posted his training lives - dude is not lying, his stamina surely can take that.)
    "Deeper than the ocean is, wind it back, I'll take it slow leave you with that afterglow" (When you know.. You can only read this one way.)
    * -- I don't know, maybe as as writer of a certain type literature my mind just lives in the gutter, but there around "afterglow" I had No uncertainity of that this watered down version of the song is about.*
    *
    This E-version is the version JK himself apparently thinks is the Original version and the other is watered down... :/
    in his Weverse lives he always sings this version, because apparently he likes this version better.

    If you check Big Hits list of Artist they list Jungkook as a Pop artist not K-pop anymore. A fan asked JK on a live why he made a “dirty version “ and ha asked her in English why is it dirty? It’s explicit not dirty. It was written by an American song writer and was probably Explicit first and changed for Korean music shows and television 💜

    The dance moves along with the word change gives the song a new meaning. If you didn't watch the dance moves go back and pay attention to them. JK got the best of the best as far as dancers are concerned.

    Someone described JK in Seven and 3D as a Fuckboy - I think they were right. Btw, if you want to hear pretty nasty lyrics, you should check out Jessi - she's a Korean American rapper who is known for letting things fly. Check out her collab with a Korean rapper (a rapper and not a Kpop idol) named Flowsik on the song Wet. Although there are no captions, you won't have any trouble understanding Jessi since she raps most of her part in English (and yes, the song is about what you think it is. th-cam.com/video/iOgDS5ov6B0/w-d-xo.html

    He really surprised everyone with this explicit version. Everyone was JungSHOOK 🫨
    BTS is known for great lyrics without vulgarity touching on real topics, deep emotions, true experiences. This was more for the western audience. JK solo album being in all English was a treat for the western fans. And also to catapult himself into Global POP star not just be known for Kpop.
    And you mentioned his sleeve in another reaction, he has had tattoos for a long while but that’s frowned upon in Korea so it was always covered so that was another surprise when he did videos for this English project and he let it all out. When he performs them back in Korea, they’re back to covered.

    BTS actually debuted on June 13, 2013...so it has been almost 11 years now. I recommend that you watch the Taylor Mari guide - "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" (for a look at the members and how the group was formed), followed by Rice Squad's "The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update)" (for a look at their progression in the industry).

    I’m not sure why you keep saying kpop. BTS is their own band. The members are their own artists. He’s a 26 year old man. He’s not a kid or a novelty act. You don’t need to keep othering him. Please see him as a human and an individual. Korea is not a monolith, nor is their music industry.
    I wouldn’t even consider this song kpop but more like global pop. It’s the result of korean and American artists collaborating to make a song that’s in English.

    Please see how amazing the other 6 members are too. Recommend Festa Room Live 2021, snippets from their B-sides from 2013 to 2021, live oerformance. Song names on the left bottom of screen, album song is from on bottom right. Don't forget CCs for English subs. Shows the versatility they have over multiple genres of music, sung live. Also watch the members in the background to see how goofy they. Can't wait for your next reaction 💜
