Sorry you got sick but thankfully you are okay and the kids did not get it. Appreciate you being back in Italy. Love the crispy soft dough of yoru panzerotti. Thank you for all the time invested to share your experiences with us.
You are very welcome! Thank you for your comment. Only I was eating that pizza with burrata cheese, and those fried olives, so it was luckily only me. Anyway lesson for the future for sure. 🙂
You captured the essence of the flavors so perfectly!😊 such a fun and immersive experience! This makes me want to visit Bari and dive into its delicious food scene 😁
Hello Alex. I enjoyed being shown your experience of the sights, smells, & tastes of Bari. I wanted to say something about your illness (like everyone else wants to, too!😂). Nearly all food-borne illnesses take 10-12 hours to elicit symptoms like vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain. So if there were only a few hours between your pizza experience and your symptoms, then I would rule out the pizza place. So it was from earlier in the day. Remember, it’s not necessarily the type of food that might be carrying the organism that made you ill, but it can also be from a food worker who was carrying the bacteria in their system but didn’t properly wash their hands. OR, perhaps, being served fresh food that came in contact, while being prepared, with food prep surfaces that previously had uncooked meat or fish on it & not getting cleaned properly. (I studied Microbiology for my Bachelor degree)
First Alex, again my compliments for great video and channel. I am in love with Sicily, and already traveled 3 times when the base was Trapani. Now my question - how would you compare the food in Bari to Trapani? Should I travel again to Trapani that I love, or Bari and the area? Both from a gastronomic angle and the rest?
Hello, thank you for reaching out! 🙂 I haven't visited Puglia region the area around the Bari, people say it's beautiful. But if you are up for a gastronomic journey then you should visit Catania, they maybe have the biggest variety of foods, and the prices are cheap as well, also on that coast you can visit Syracuse and Taormina for example from Catania there are trains and buses.
@@ronyzmiri Bari is a much bigger city. Trapani is cleaner and has easy accessible beach, and very good and fresh seafood and fish, it's own pizza style as well. Bari has panzerotti, focaccia and also seafood but a bit different style. And for relaxation and enjoyment I think Trapani is better choice as it is a holiday destination. Bari is a sea port city. Hope I helped! 🙂
Hi i am from Bari, my city is perfect as a base from which to move to visit all the wonders nearby. Everything is easily accessible in the car, short distances. U have to know where to go and it is paradise, especially for eating. Sicilia, Puglia and Sardegna are three dream destinations but different. I deeply love all three. Best places where to eat in Italy are Sicily and Puglia; Campania for pizza, Sorry for my pizza English, greetings from Italy.
Dear Alex if you eat in two days all the special heavy food of Bari your stomach indeed faults. I am of Bari and I eat in one month the food you have eaten in 2 days. Many fried food, the panino filled of mortadella spicy salam fried tomatoes spicy cheese and a lot of pepper ruined your stomach. Next time take informations about good cheap restaurants because Giulio Cesare is not on the top, it's only an old trattoria in Bari. Have nice experiences.
Thanks for the tips! Yes, Giulio Cesare mostly came as a necessity because most of other places were closed! 😅 Still an interesting experience, I never seen mixed salad served like this in a professional restaurant. 😄 As for food, yes I ate many different foods in short time, but I tried not to overload my stomach, and going into the pizzeria, I went hungry with half-empty stomach and ate only half a pizza. But the olives and burrata did what they did, if I didn't eat these two items probably would be fine. Anyway learning the lessons and continuing. 🙂🍻
@ - I just feel it doesn’t add and actually detracts from the experience of the viewer. It is very good of you to reply. Great videos, my Sicilian mother-in-law enjoyed watching some today.

Ciao amico mio, sorry to hear you had some mishaps, unfortunly when it comes about food you need to be very careful of what you eat and what you combine with. Generally speaking south italy cuisine and particulary that from puglia is rich and heavy in flavor and substance .I think olive and burrata was NOT a good idea. Anyway you're fine now and by the way when you are in sea towns watch out of mussels and cockles. Ti aspetto a Roma la prossima volta, saluti!
I agree, even though I like it, I think I will avoid it for a while, plus those olives were so strange and bitter, the perfect combination for a disaster.
I'm living in a city not far from bari and my mother and my Grandma usualky made orecchiette and others kind of fresh pasta at home. To make a kilo of pasta It takes over One hour , so it's impossible that they produce all that quantity of pasta.
In bari vecchia, orecchiette the wimen sale, is a tourist's trap , they show that are homemade, but these orecchiette that they sell in the package are industrial production, good as well, but not homemade, be carefull!!!
I left very disappointed in Italy. The pizza was a let down. Bland crust, bland sauce, bland boring mozzarella blobs on top. Im not American btw before i get the dominos not real pizza lecture Italy was a lot of people in over priced tourist spots. Wont admit they flew all the way to Italy only to eat mediocre food. Also sooooo msbt FAKE WAGYU as well.
Thanks for sharing. In Italy especially in very touristic cities like Rome, Venice, Florence, etc. you really have to work hard to avoid tourist traps and find proper restaurants and places to eat. People eat pizzas in places around Trevi fountain and Pantheon in Rome and those pizzas look like from horror movies. I also had very bad experience in that tourist trap in Rome with expensive fresh pasta. It's just how it is, too many tourists and too many tourists traps, that's why I try in my videos to find and present places that are worth visiting and enjoying some good food around Italy.

Grazie, non ne ho comprato nessuno. Questo è troppo costoso per pagare 5 euro per un Kg di pasta. 😄
