Would have liked to hear it fire up at the dock and hear it idle for the first time. You make a beautiful 30 minute movie about a million dollar boat and you play 2 cent canned music over those engines. Not everything needs a sound track.

These mercury engines were developed from mercurys involvement with the corvette ZR1 in the early 1990s. Mercury, Chevrolet and Lotus built a four cam small block but no one company held a patent so mercury ran with it. Very happy to see Monster sponsoring the most epic form of racing
As the story goes, Lotus designed the LT4 heads. GM already had the small block. Offered in C4 ZR1's and 1996 GrandSport models with manual. Where Merc made their most recent mistake is not developing the LS line. You do not require a big block to make 1,000 hp these days. By not doing so, they CREATED this clamp-on outboard sillyness which they already owned. Devious marketing on their part, but now Ilmore is in the LS powered marine game. Anyhoo, I love that they are not using slower M6 drives. I'm sure mercury was not happy walking out of that meeting...

Just one of the many reason people are switching to outboard. If this had been an outboard installation with four 400R's or similar they'd be done inside of a week instead of a month.
