People often ask about the outfit Angus Young (Lead Guitarist) always wears..In the early days of the group,, Angus sister suggested that he should wear his school uniform while performing,, he did & has worn it ever since,, it has become his trademark.
Losing your lead singer, especially when he had a pretty unique voice, is basically a death sentence for most bands. These guys came back with one of their best albums instead.
And became an even bigger band
yes and the replacemnt singer's first song he writes is "you shook me all night long"!!
It was Bon Scott himself who'd told the other guys in the band he had seen this amazing singer who was screaming his head off on stage like noone else. He of course didn't realize Brian Johnson's apendix had burst on stage the night he saw him and that was why he was screaming his head off.
The album was written. Bon died weeks before their studio booking. Bon's family was paid. Brian Johnson never wrote a hit song in his life.
Bro Bon Scott was almost everything ... I am still sad after 40 years and my tears goes. I was on concert of AC/DC here in 2010, impresive was ... but bro Bon was so missing for me for full joy.
Although Angus, Brian and Bon get most of the credit for their music, the true driving force behind AC/DC is Angus' older brother Malcom (RIP), the rhythm guitarist. He came up with most of their riffs and his rhythm guitar always laid a perfect background.
Malcom wrote most of the songs too... absolute legend musician RIP
The riffs are wild!
And to balance your comments, the songs would not be anything without any member. Phil is a rock solid Drummer, and Cliff is seemless in supporting the drums with Bass. They are all awesome.
I like how the guitar is bigger than Malcolm
What a loss Malcom was. His riffs were legendary. RIP sir.
Never easy to have iconic voices in Rock N Roll replaced. Almost impossible after the passing of Bon Scott let alone come out with an entire album so masterful in tribute to Bon Scott with Brian at the helm having to fill such immense shoes to front ACDC. Hells Bells is a total send off in style to Bon. Back in Black a massive 80s masterpiece that still goes strong today as classic ACDC.
Incredible how it played out!
You can't go wrong with AC/DC. They are absolute legends!
only thunderstruk is a bad song... its like from queen radio gaga, peter gabriel sledgehammer... a lot of famous bands have this one really ugly song... but if the rest is as good as from acdc then i can live with that...^^
Love seeing tiny Malcom with that huge guitar! It's almost funny........but what a rhythm player, one of the best
Malcolm was only 5-3. A Gretsch White Falcon is a full hollow bodied guitar, that’s probably why it looks so big on him. Legend has it that he used it on the Back in Black tour. He played it so hard that it went outta whack and was deemed unplayable. Malcolm always said “Hit those strings, don’t tickle the buggers” Greatest rhythm player in Hard Rock. R.I.P. Malcolm
@@highvolts6620 As i heard it, it went out for a specific repair (I can't recall what) and he didn't like the results. It showed up in a TH-cam video a couple of years ago on a vintage guitar shop's channel. Can't remember which one.
I believe it was used to record Back In Black as well.
Anything live by AC/DC at River Plate 2009. Most awesome crowd I've ever seen at a concert.
Especially « The Jack ».Very bluesy !🤘🏻
Yes. Probably the greatest hard rock gig in history.
Bon Scott died of alcohol poisoning, along with the fact that he was falling asleep in his car in a cold February night in England. That was a tragedy for the band and all of their fans.
But they came back stronger than ever with Brian Johnson on vocals, filling the part perfectly. The rest is history.
Cha baba bop a chaba a bop. Theth thethe thith theth tha-theth. Pinni pinpin. Za zazza ze zizi ze ze za zuzuzza ba bip.
The great man died choking on his vomit passed out in his mate's car,,a born entertainer,,sadly missed,,RIP BON..
If you want to see a guitarist take control of 75,000 people and completely rock out, check out ACDC perform "Let There Be Rock" Live at River Plate. It's epic.
River Plate sucks, check out Paris 1980
@@bayareathrasher666 I'm sure Paris was great, but River Plate most definitely rocked.
@@shawnjohnson9763 River plate (as much as I love it) is an aging acdc. Live at Donington is the best version of that song.
@@shawnjohnson9763 Bon > Brian. AC/DC at their peak. like a 35 year difference
@bayareathrasher666 neither one is better than the other. They're just different, but are both iconic. They hadn't even hit their peak yet when Bon died. Could they have reached the same heights with Bon? Probably, but the fact is that they had to find a replacement. They did, and they just kept climbing. I don't hate on people for preferring Bon, he was special. But Brian is also iconic. Nobody else at the time could have stepped in and taken over for Bon without missing a step like he did. But, more to the point, the reason that their performance of this song at River Plate is so amazing has nothing to do with the vocals. It's all about Angus and the crowd.
This song came up when high school. Cranking this in the 67 camaro high as a kite.
We had such a blast in those 3 wonderful decades.
You KNOW which ones.
First heard this song at 13 years of age and man did it change my whole persona and how i moved in school😂😂
Love ACDC and all their music.
Absolutely ICONIC song! ♥
I was 14 years old in '84' and remember entering an 'air guitar' contest at the prom, and won doing this song. 😂
So was it the song choice or the performance that made you win 😅
@@barsandbarbells2022 Probably a little of both. 😂
I was 15 in '84', i discover hell's bells from thi s album when i was 13 and i ever listen ACDC at 54 . . . from France . . .
Since you think the current lead singer has such a unique voice you’ll love the original lead singer and leader of the band even more Bon Scott sadly passed away quite early on in the bands career and this song is a tribute to him and the return of the band after his loss
Nothing sad about drinking yourself to death. Stupid yes, sad absolutely not.
Bon Scott was NOT the original singer. Dave Evans was.
Love seeing the youngins hear what the original rap and roll sounds like!
One of my favorites. The song and the whole album is so high energy.
“Another rap” refers to a criminal rap, not getting accused of committing a crime.
Rap is all that’s on their brains nowadays lol. I’m just mystified by that.
@@tinamakaneoleAgreed! Easier and cheaper to feed the masses on mindless rap instead of actual creative musicians. Music industry’s fault for killing melodic thought provoking music for a quick buck.
@@ericv181actually there was a lot of good rap. Now it’s just mumble cRap
@@ericv181dude im tired of you old people ignoring the actual messages on a GENRE OF MUSIC THAT ORIGINATED ALMOST A WHOLE PRESIDENT AGO! 🤦🏽♂️ Just accept that a whole genre did good even if you dont understand the "fast nonsense"
@@ericv181all time terrible take. Sit all the way down.
There is real magic in that opening riff. Its the gaps and pauses in between the notes that make it awesome.
This was the first rock band I "liked" at age eleven I identified woah this is interesting and man. that's where it began, thank you you crazy fuckng Aussie bastards I love you guys .
Scott was taken to King's College Hospital in Camberwell, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The official report of the coroner concluded that Scott had died of "acute alcohol poisoning" and classified it as "death by misadventure".
At the time, I remember hearing that he drowned in his own vomit. 🤷
@@Tbone.357 Yes, he fell asleep in the back of a car and was found the next morning and rushed to hospital. So, while he did asphyxiate, if was determined the underlying reason was the alcohol he'd consumed that night.
@@brettbridger362 Bonzo died that way as well. if I remember correctly.
@@truepatrick24 I also heard it was a cold night. Hypothermia may. Have contributed to his death. I could be wrong, but I heard it in a documentary somewhere.
@@josephburkhardt9648 Oh, okay. Thank you for the info.
Went to an AC/DC concert at 17 and had the BEST time!!❤❤
In remembering Bon Scott, the first leadsinger.
Yes, one of their best songs.
The band was RED HOT back in that year 1980-81. Multi platinum record. Their finest record.
The "rap" he's referring to is the charges someone might get for committing a crime.
"They got me on another rap."
All your convictions are listed on a "rap sheet."
It doesn't get any more iconic and legendary than this. AC/DC was fortunate enough to have had 2 amazing lead singers with amazingly unique voices.
What really got me in this reaction video:
"It's crazy how different all these rock bands sound".
This may be one of the most impactful statements you said. That said, it really applies to ALL music that was produced before computer editing was possible. Pre-90s for the most part.
The grim reality today is music is built using a 'formula'. This formula is designed to 'trick' the listener into liking the music. It's tried and true. Due to this, a LOT of music today sounds remarkably the same. A long time ago, bands and musicians made the music they wanted, without following any specific formula. Each band (and artist) had their own style, which was different from each other. While a band would have similar sounding songs, no band would ever sound the same.
On top of that, the mass usage of post-production vocal editing also makes things sound similar today. Even worse is that when real instruments are played in a song, they are also edited to ensure that everything is completely 'perfect'. Producers can really change how things sound. For example, they can raise notes up full octaves, they can correct vibrato with a single click. Now, perfect vibrato is IMPOSSIBLE to achieve, and to be honest, when they do this, they (IMHO) completely destroy the artist's talents.
The problem with all this is that no human is perfect. All singers have vocal flaws. All musicians cannot play perfectly in time. This causes the music to sound 'fake' if you will. Artists are simply able to perform a song one time in the studio and let the technical people sort out the rest.
All of the musicians pre-computer editing HAD to perform their music with no real editing. Months would be spent in the studio recording things to try to get things right. Even so, the human flaws would still be in the final product. This makes the music sound much more natural and unique. Artists could easily do tours and do 100% of their music live (as AC/DC has ALWAYS done), where musicians today simply cannot. Even IF they are singing, there is almost always a back track propping up their vocals, leading once again to the 'fake' sounding music. In-fact, many of the 'stadium' bands actually sound BETTER live. The crowds really seem to bring the best out in them. AC/DC may be the best live band of all time. It's a shame you didn't do a reaction to the live version.
All of that simply comes from the one statement 'It's crazy how different all these rock bands sound'.
You couldn't be more correct with this statement. It's spot-on.
Yes no one sounded the same.
AC/DC BACK IN BLACK is about as classic of an album as you can get! Thinking of Aerosmith was not a bad reference,as Steven Tyler always brings the vocals, and his bandmates can certainly jam.Yes,he is spitting bars, bringing hard rock at it's finest! I met my husband at roller skating when I was 14 years old.Although we did skate to some disco,we were more the rocker types. When this song came on at the rink, let's just say we skated at breakneck speed...😉😜🔥👊
Back in Black is one of the best selling albums of all time. For me, this song is without a sliver of a doubt, THE BEST ROCK SONG EVER RECORDED!!! Came out in 1981. I was 13. You can just imagine a 13 year old hearing this for the first time! EPIC!!!
I don’t always listen to AC/DC, but when I do, my neighbors do too!
Well said and well done.
My favorite album all-time.
I can play this song and 13 other ACDC songs im now working on the solo's for each song the Back in Black Album is one of my favorite Albums
Angus, always in perpetual motion on stage. One of the first rock guitarist that went wireless. Sure help with his mobility
Legendary icons of rock. There will never be another AC DC.
My favorite song of all time!!!
Hell kids I'm 69and still listen to AC/DC. But I also listen to Hank Williams Sr &Jr so it just depends on my mood.
Anyone reading this from Eisenhower HS in the 80s knows every bar of this song because it was on the cafeteria jukebox incessantly.
This song was in Iron Man, Megamind, The Karate Kid, The Smurfs 1, and other movies. This album was shot in Nassau, The Bahamas.
F.Y.I. Malcolm Young was always criminally underrated.
Yeah!, AC⚡️DC ROCKS!!🤘🤘🎸🎸🔥🔥⚡️⚡️. Such an ass kicking band!❤❤❤
Back In Black's been in a Dodge Charger ad (Of course, it was a black car), It's also in the Iron Man movie , and in another action movie I can't remember, but the head bad guy made his entrance to this song..dressed in a black suit. As ya heard, the lyrics are catchy with the same cadence used by rappers. The LP's one of the 10 top sellers of all time.
Los vi en Barcelona
Espectacular 👍
Great reaction and thanks for sharing. This song is in 19 movies/tv series so far. Chris
Oh wow!
You shook me all night long, live from river plate.
When Motorola came out with a black version of the silver Razr cellphone they used this song in the commercials.
I distinctly remember the first time listening to "Back in Black" and a teenager. It was after a long wait for AC/DC fans to see if the new lead singer was going to be able to pull it off? "Back in Black" was the first song on the album and that intro that led into Brian Johnsons first words of the song immediately hooked us. It was like, "Hell Yeah, their back". Whether you prefer Bon over Brian or vice versa, AC/DC always rocks.
When I think Rock music, Back in Black is the song I think of! I love ACDC so much!!!
Thanks for the video guys. Can you please play the who don’t be fooled again live in the UK in the mid 70s as soon as you can because at my age i could be dead to Morrow. 😂😂😂Cheers thanks guys
Being a teen listening to the iconic AC/DC was and still is so fricken awesome 😎🤟🎶🎵 try some of their live concerts. Love your reactions from Canada ❤🇨🇦✌River Plate concert Whole lota Rosie this concert will BLOW YOUR MIND SEEING HOW MANY PEOPLE WERE THERE !!!!
We’re working out way there! Lol
The Back In Black album was dedicated to their previous n singer, not particularly specific songs. And that album has sold 25 million copies in the US. If you as a man haven't listened to that album while drinking whiskey relaxing at home, you missed a rite of passage.
I saw the previous lineup in 1977 in some special one off rising stsr concert set up by the big rock station in Portland OR. They played with Thin Lizzy, what a freaking concert. It was the first time I saw Malcom use the wireless transmitter with his guitar. He wandered up and down the aisles playing solo's. It was great!
Get excited brother and sister its ACDC full of energy and power pure Rock and Roll
He was born in England grow up in Australia for all his life. He's my idol power full voice. Very very nice gental man. Bless bless John Farnham. 🙏❤
you shook me all night long is glorious definite recommend
ac/dc always get me pumped! just want to.. like, call my friends over for a couple of beers and headbang!
Seeing them on their Back in Black tour at 17 was amazing!!!
This is the video using the original 1980 studio version and with video lip synching filmed a few months later
The intro from "Iron Man " this was guys , so cool !
Bought the record on vinyl when it came. Still have it. 👍
AC DC live river plate!!! 🎉
Malcolm ‘s big ass Gretsch is always the best
AC⚡DC ROCKS!!!
The perfect jam song. So legendary. Who hasn't heard at least part of this song somewhere at this point. We played the hell out of this album when it came out. And yeah little school boy has some moves 😂😂👍👍
So much energy!
It was their first singer Bon Scott himself who'd told the other guys in the band he had seen this amazing singer who was screaming his head off on stage like noone else. He didn't realize Brian Johnson's apendix had burst on stage the night he saw him and that was why he was screaming like a banshee.
I have a concert tee shit from when they performed here In Toledo back in 1985,LOL
This song is at the intro to the first Iron Man movie.
Blasted in the early 80’s at all the hangouts
You must see Angus at work in the live 1970's performance in Scotland with the original singer, Bon Scott. It will blow you away. 🇨🇦🔥🔥🔥🔥🥇🌟👍👋💖
The dictionary says Rock and Roll is AC/DC LMAO So So love this group and EVERY song of the Back in Black album is fire
In 1978 saw them on their Power Age tour with Bon Scott . Great show and very loud .
Love Angus in his school boy shorts! He also can play!!
Every song on the album is so good
IRON-MAN!!!!💪👊🤜👏🙌👌👍😎🎉
Start off with the first album " High Voltage " with the origional singer Bon Scott and work your way up album by album .
You should really consider listening to the live version of "Dirty Deeds"
Billy Idol Rebel Yell is another Rock Anthem !!!!@@
I was in middle school when this came out. And free bird. Man we had it good music wise.
Let there be rock ACDC
A rap, in this context, is a police charge of breaking the law. React to
Bon Scott, their first singer, with Jail Break, If You Want Blood, Hell’s Bells or It’s A Long Way To The Top.
Its a long way to the top if you wanna rock and roll
If you watched the movie Death Wish with Bruce Willis. This song played at the end of it.
Need to see the Official video of you rock me all night long! 💯
Saw them on the Back in Black Tour (1980)...insane :)
The story that goes with the change of lead singers is that Bon Scott saw Brian Johnson performing while in England and was impressed and had mentioned him to the rest of the band. What came out later is that Brian's performance was coloured by him sufferings from appendicitis as the time.
I think you two would get a kick out of AC/DC’s “Whole Lotta Rosie” live at River Plate. A fun banger.
You REALLY should react to the original vocalist/singer Bon Scott (R.I.P. 🙏❤️) In memory of him,, AC/DC "It's A Long Way To The Top" (If You Want To Rock & Roll)
🎸🎸ACDC🎸🎸
THIS, from top to bottom, is my favorite all time album! EVERY SONG on the album is amazing! My opinion Shoot to Thrill is the best one on the album!
Other must-do ACDC:
• You Shook Me All Night Long
• Shoot to Thrill
• Highway to Hell
• Hells Bells
Hells Bells next!
1973 they started in Sydney , Named by their sister after a vacuum cleaner. After Bons death they created a monster album , which i i think to this day was only beaten by Michael Jackson - Thriller. They haven't changed there style. That's why they still sell out stadiums. Many bands look up to AC/DC as the the benchmark. Look at Shoot to Thrill.
THINK about it… he joined AC/DC in his early 30’s . He’s 75, I think, now!!and still going.!
“No one’s gonna get me on another RAP” means, no one is get him on another “case”, or pin another crime on him.
Gotta remember this is 1980, 5-10 years before “rap music” was being played mainstream and got popular.
Phil - now you see why this (and several AC/DC songs) have been on everyone's workout playlist forever. Beast mode 👊💥
💯
New Zealand has a Band called Shihad, very influenced by AC⚡DC & the latter would share studios and take them on Tour. They have a song called Pacifier - really worthy of a reaction, this won't get many up votes as New Zealand is very outta the way but worthy of your time, the community may really enjoy it too. Go well.
What in the hell are you smoking to make you think this is rap, come on man, this is ROCK AND ROLL at it's finest!!!
Loved your reaction during the guitar solos!❤
They were epic! 😁
The lead single from this album, “You Shook Me All Night Long” is likely their most recognized song. That said, there were so many, like “Highway To Hell” and many more.
Truly one of the best ever bands! He was actually the singer Bon wanted to replace him if ever something happened. He can actually sing with a more normal voice which I didn't think he could until I seen some video of him singing with an earlier band. Didn't sound like he does with AC/DC.
A lot of sports too play these riffs when you see them live!
Soul Stripper!! That is a great song to check out.
