Try George Thorogood, one Burbon one Scotch and one beer, is a good place to start
You should cover 4 non blonds Whats up
Please do Gimme 3 Steps from Lynyrd Skynyrd live from Knebworth 1976. They were at their best right before that fateful day when their plane went down.
"Girl's Got Rhythm"..One of my favs of the Bon Scott era. Fun fact: Atlantic Record's board members were' upset CEO/Artist Manager Ahmet Etregen advanced the band so much $$ for the "Back In Black" LP, But he told 'em, quit whining, we're gonna make millions! 6 months later they apologized after the LP hit #1, and never gave him flack about artist deals again. It was Ahmet's talent..He just KNEW a hit when he heard one. (Tupac, NWA, Aretha Franklin, Foreigner, Bee Gees, Yes, Led Zepplin, KId Rock, etc are just a few of the acts he bagged for the label)
Two more totally unique and Epic Rock Singers are Ronnie James Dio (Solo or with Black Sabbath) and Bruce Dickinson from Iron Maiden. Both are Masters at Theatrical Sytle Hard to Heavy Rock. A great starting point for Dio is either his Solo Rainbow in the Dark or Heaven and Hell with Black Sabbath. For Bruce Dickinson Run for the Hills or The Trooper or for a long listen Rime of the Ancient Mariner
NEVER pause during an Angus Young guitar solo
Bon Scotts "It's a long way to the top (if you wanna rock and roll)" is epic, also...bagpipes!!
Also, it was Bon Scott who told the rest of the band that if anything happened to him, they should hire Brian Johnson as their new singer (he had heard Brian in his former band Geordie).
thx this i didnt know until yet^^
I heard they were also considering Jimmy Barnes.
bon was a one of a kind brian embodied the energy that is ac/dc
If you want blood is another great early AC/DC song
Oh, Bon Scott Sang "Highway to Hell" on the album.
Imagine having your lead singer, who was beloved by the fans, tragically die from substance abuse and coming back with this absolute masterpiece of record in tribute to him and as an introduction of your new singer.
To be fair, his official death certificate says "Death by misadventure."
It wasn't "substance abuse," as in hard drugs. He got drunk and passed out and choked on his own vomit.
Brian sounds just he did in Geordie
They didn't 'come back' with it. Bon wrote this from first to last lyric. They don't acknowledge it but they pay the Scott family royalties for BiB. Bon's notebook ran dry after FOTS and it shows in the music.
Like Iron Maiden getting Bruce and his first album with them. Both EPIC
Some people make fun of Brian's voice now, but I have to respect him because he sacrificed his voice for this band.
So there is a clear difference between Bon Scott and Brian Johnson and yet both are epic singers within the same band. Some great Bon Scott songs by AC/DC are Highway To Hell, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap and TNT
Yes, yes! If she is going to go down the AC/DC rabbit hole, she must listen to some Bon Scott era music. Anything off of the Highway to Hell album would be great, his last album before his untimely death, but many of there earlier works will do-Let There be Rock, Ride On, It’s a long Way to the Top, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, Big Balls, etc.
A long way to the top is another great one.
Walk All over you, and Touch Too Much to me are some great Bon Scott classic’s
Let There Be Rock is another awesome Bon Scott song and has a fun video.
Ummm.... Yes! Bon Scott is awesome! Brian Johnson is awesome! I can't pick between them. Just don't choose. I'm allowed to like Ronnie James Dio and the guy from Whitesnake. You can like Bon Scott and Brian Johnson at the same time. No conundrum there.
Back in Black is my all time favorite song by AC/DC. The whole album is incredible and you should check it out. You will not be disappointed.
my favorite song from them is the first song i have ever heard from them a really long time ago
WHO MADE WHO
Mine is Moneytalks. The forgotten song.
You’ve had good success as a band, then your lead singer dies suddenly,
You mourn, then regroup,
The family says ‘keep going’.
A singer that the late lead singer said should replace him should anything happen, is chosen.
Back In Black is the first album released.
It’s hit out of the park!!!
AC/DC is the Real Deal!
😎👍👍
I am 71 Y/O, American, a Beatles fan, Doors fan, Jimi Hendrix fan, MAJOR Rush fan, and I say that AC/DC is the best rock band ever to strap on guitars.
The above and others like Zepplin, were arguable better both lyrically and musically.
Far more complex and varied in their music.
But for PURE RAW HARD ROCK?
None better than AC/DC!
The fact that you never heard this until 2 months ago blows my mind.
If she hasn't, then we know she's never seen a Marvel movie.
Yeah well Young People just don't get to Hear / Discover things till Years later.
I Remember Back in 1986 when i got into AC/DC Feeling Guilty that i didn't get into them sooner.
I heard them in 84 & 85. and also Remember seeing comments in 2020 That some Kids / people had Power UP
album was the first thing they heard from AC/DC. theres gonna be people in 2032 saying wow I Never heard this band before! and become fans
Dirty Deeds should be next...
Agree!!!
With Bon of course!
Definitely❤!
Rober plate live dirty...
Yes! With Bon singing of course otherwise it will be kind of a waste. Love, love, LOVE!
AC/DC is the soundtrack for my life. I was 12 when I first started listening to them. I’m turning 57 this month. They have always been my go to band, in many scenarios. High school, Army Basic Training, Jump School, Infantry AIT, deployments and a long military career. I still love them to this day, even in retirement. Their newest album, Power Up, just relit the fire for me.
same for me, minus the long military career, but Highway to Hell was the first album i ever bought.
I've been saying for years that the album "Back in Black" should be a mandatory issue for all 12 year old boys. "Here, son, listen to this. 3 chord rock that punches ya in the nuts. This is what it's all about!"
As an 66yr old Australian 😂😂 l love your face, welcome 🙏 to our acca Dacca.😅😅
Very sweet! Thank you! 🤗💟 Hope to see you on my Patreon: www.patreon.com/MaggieRenee
AC ⚡DC is one of the few bands from the 1970s that has stood the test of time. In all this time, their sound has never changed. This is what makes them so memorable now.
OMG... Maggie your killing me!!!!!
Your an Opera trained artsiest... yet seems to be so sheltered from music (ROCK) that has helped keep the industry alive and thriving for decades! Rock & Country are THE BEDROCK of music for the past 40yrs... FACT!!!
I just LOVED to see you rock out and get excited or inspired... simply AWESOME!!!!
peace
She's young. It's no different than people discovering rock from Elvis instead of from Chuck Berry or Sister Rosetta Tharpe.
@@ragulper I think the point trying to be made is, what do they teach in these singing schools? Don't they teach any history of different genres of music, whether it be country or rock, blues etc. It's like they are laser focused on just one type of music to the complete exclusion of all others.
@@ragulper yeah I know I was just messing with her
@@sueparras6028 if you were to go to a Rock school would you expect to learn how to sing Turandot? these people study opera, not "music". Just like you can be a good rock guitarist without knowing how to play an oboe.
@@sueparras6028 Literally my experience during my time in music classes in college, right up to being ostracized by classmates for liking rock/bluegrass/folk/blues
Why I gave up learning music in an educational program.
Walk All Over You is a must its got one of the coolest song intros of all time! And Bon Scotts impressive range makes it a blast to listen to its kinda a hidden Gem but a really good one unearthed.
I will say the boys in AC/DC made an incredible choice finding Brian to replace Bon cause Hes so good and can damn near preform Bon stuff sounding very close to Bon. But Bond was the living embodiment of Rock and Roll. Dude lived the lifestyle from the time he started till his death. He paved the Highway to Hell for the rest of us. ❤️
I first heard that song in a skate video and was like that HAS to be AC/DC. Such a slept on song.
My favourite acdc song.
Over 5 decades of Classic rock. Best rock band in the world.
I am 62 years old. I first saw AC/DC in 1978. I have been a fan ever since. They are my ultimate favorite rock band!
Maybe while you are in an AC/DC fever, you might consider doing a comparison of Bon Scott's vocals to those of Brian Johnson. Many people feared for AC/DC survival following the death of Bon Scott. Back in Black introduced us to Mr. Johnson and laid waste to any concerns about the band's future. Glad you have discovered and are enjoying this super group Miss Renee!
I agree, try a Bon Scott song for comparison, for sure!
I was one that wasnt realy sure about anyone filling Bons mic spot.
But once this album dropped, all my misgivings went out the door.
Everything about this band is just distilled, unhinged energy. And as a guitarist, the combined tone of Malcolm, and Angus being blasted out of gargantuan Marshall amps is the most glorious thing in the history of guitar tone. Just a guitar into an amp, and crank it. No digital processing, just raw power.
Broke a bunch of windows with my old technics unit and AC/DC. It used to shake the plaster from the window frames.
At 6 the cement floor would vibrate. Cranked up to max 10 was too much if you were within 50 feet.
40 years later i still have that unit and my ears have a permanent ring lol. ahh well, cant use em when im dead.
@@colb9916 I told my wife I was thinking about saving up for a Plexi. A re-issue, not an original. Unfortunately, I like being married, and don't like being arrested, so it's probably not the best idea. I think it might actually be worse having it, and not being able to really use it.
@@dmwalker24 Yeah. Having something epic and not being able to let it run to its potential is a tough pill to swallow.
I've passed a few things into more capable hands as I couldn't realy do them justice anymore.
this album is a certified collectible in rock history. New singer, but it sold more than almost every album ever. FIRST CLASS!
this was such a great song and a great album, not like when you buy an album and find only 1 or 2 songs you really like, every song on this album rocked and rocked hard.
Oh the anticipation we AC/DC fans will have until you discover Bon Scott. Hang on tight and enjoy your new discovery. I grew up with their music and it’s amazing that their music is still relevant today. I always used to say they were ahead of their time and their music doesn’t age at all. Keep going with AC/DC. My favourite from them is WALK ALL OVER YOU….. talk about energy.
Hard to imagine that this band has been around over 50 years but it’s a fact :)
Boomers rock!
The whole album hard rock masterpiece
This album got me through boot camp. We were allowed to carry a boom box playing music, and this album ruled.
Must have bn army or air force.
@@harrycoxenbahlz1922 The crayons are why Marines get all the good women.
_Semper Fidelis_
Definitely have to do "whole lotta Rosie" with Bon Scott at the vocals. And turn the volume up past 10! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘
As great as they were with Bon Scott, it was this album that made them global superstars. A side note, another classic example of a director who doesn't realise that when an all time great guitarist like Angus is playing a solo, the only thing the camera should be looking at are his hands. So happy you've finally discovered one of the best kick ass bands ever Maggie, an old guy like me has been fortunate to be enjoying them since the 70's.
Big fan of ACDC for 40 plus years... its NOT rap but at times its so effective lyrically because its about the timing of the lyrics for impact. Legends
The fact that they kept this energy level since '73 is insane. My rock/metal journey started with acdc on guitarhero as a kid, and I wont be surprised if some of their music ends up playing at my funeral in the future
Anything from live from River Plate 2009 Let There be Rock is 19 minutes of Angus going off on his guitar epic rock gods video
Donington is much better
"Let there be rock" with the original singer Bon Scot, is an experience.
Please react to the original music video....
Yes!
I think Riff Raff @Glasgow Apollo would satisfy the Bon Scott curiosity & give Maggie the best Angus vibe in his complete schoolboy uniform.....although can't complain about LTBR.
Let There Be Rock is THE intensist of intense AC/DC experience!
I first heard the Back in Black album in the early 80s and to this day, I still listen to it regularly.
One of the most iconic !
Heady times! I consider AC/DC FAMILY.
Maggie, AC/DC simply defines ROCK AND ROLL.
This is the song that changed everything about music for me and I was 11 years old the first time I heard it in 1983, from that day on I been a headbanger, I’m 51 now and passing my taste in music down to my 8 year old daughter, tried to get my son but he’s got his mother in him lol
Looks like you have a Daddy’s Girl.
AC/DC is truly one of a kind band no one comes close. Back in the day I got lucky and got to meet Angus Young after a AC/DC concert and he's really a down to earth kind of dude.
Yeah covers with the same tuning can’t pull it off the same.
I'd say Airborne do a great job of continuing the legacy, basically a tribute band but instead of covers they do their own music that just sounds what ac/dc would write.
@@traviscue2099 Yeah Airborne is a good band. They do have that AC/DC feel about them.
This is why they are regarded as one of the best rock bands ever, there is not a bad song on this album.
Seeing them live is on another lvl, the atmosphere is insane, I went to one of their concerts in Wellington NZ and even the Māori gangsters were getting in the grove.
Simply awesome band.
A true rock and roll band. They have the rock and they have the roll, their roll is so good they make you move and they make you groove. The greatest rhythm section of all time.
You Shook Me All Night Long is an AC/DC must!!
Highway To Hell is a Bon Scott song though Brian does sing it live (obviously).
You should check them out live from River Plate live. Almost 3 decades latter and still rocking. 3 Decades of people in the crowd. THEY ARE GENERATIONAL.
They are fantastic in concert! Saw them in the 70's. My children and grandchildren were brought up on AC/DC. ❤
I have always been a great fan of AC/DC, even at the age of 67. During the early 1980s, while working the night shift, my colleague Mike G and I would return from lunch at 3:30 AM and he would play "Back in Black" on his boom box, to motivate us for the rest of the shift. Those were some good times.
One of the very best Rock songs ever, bar none.
AC/DC is one of my all time favorite bands. In older Videos you can see Malcom Young on the rythem guitar. Sadly he passed away in 2017. His uncle Stevie has taken his place in the band. Take a look at the "live in river plate " Concertvideos. One of the best liveconcerts ever .
Actually nephew Stevie, though there's no one who can replace Malcolm.
That entire album is just phenomenal. AC/DC just rocks!
Love the reaction as Maggie realizes she's actually heard these legends before. 😅
Glad you found them and seeing the joy in your face like the rest of us is pure gold. Rock on!
Maggie if you want to hear a little Bon Scott with AC/DC you can always do their "Long Way to The Top" which was one of their more popular songs during Bon Scotts tenure as their lead singer.
You should check out anything from their River Plate concert. The crowd is electric. Whole Lotta Rosie is my favorite. Pro tip: If you're gonna binge on them, you'd better reserve about a month. LOL.
I saw this tour in West Germany while my stepdad was station there. It was an amazing experience. I was a sophomore in high school.
You started with a wonderful piece of cake. Then someone gave you THE ENTIRE BOWL of icing!!! Enjoy, young lady!
Love to hear people getting excited about music I grew up listening to. Thanks for your enthusiasm and energy.
So happy that you have found and enjoy AC DC, I've been a fan for decades. Their guitars look big because they are all between 5 foot 2-3 tall, awesome people often come in small packages.
🤘🤗🤘
@@maggiereneemusic you can't wipe the smile off my face when i see younger people getting into ACDC 👍🇦🇺
It brings a tear to my eye to see youngsters grooving to music from my childhood.
You shook me all night long is the best!!!! AC/DC FOREVER!!!!!
Recommendations:
Bon era: Highway to Hell, TNT, Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap, It's a long way to the top
Brian era: Rock 'n' Roll Train, You Shook Me All Night Long, Stiff Upper Lipp, Hells Bells, Shoot to Thrill
Released 40 years ago on July 25, 1980. Is the best AC/DC album they have done
I am a 64 year old Australian and love this band, I grew up with them, I have seen them live four times.
They're my favorite Rock Band. They have SUCH a powerful and energetic style.
I'm forty five years old and can't stop listening to them. It's like all the other music is just secondary to this great band
Been lucky to have seen AC/DC twice, 1996 and 2010.
This song is considered the 2nd most recognized guitar riff in rock history only behind Black Sabbath's Paranoid.
I always thought Crazy Train was the most recognizable, but that might be because it's my jam. Crank it up!
Dire Straits Money For Nothing
Saw them once. Only group I've seen that toured eith 2 field artillery pieces small enough to be used indoors. "For those about to rock" - great closer. The gun crews kept good time.
I listened Back in back from 91s Live at Donnington cassette for the first time around the early 90s and fell in love immediately, you cannot not like this piece of art!
Best way to fall in love with rock!
I like AC/DC ever since I was in junior high school and I’m 62 right now
As a kid back in the late 70s earlier 80s I new they were a great Aussie band but as I grew older it was so cool to know that they were legendary. Made me proud to be an Aussie
Maggie, Back in Black never gets old, yes it is a tribute to Bon Scott. Love to see you rock out to AC/DC. Keep it going. I would recommend the whole Back in Black album. Brian Johnson stepped right in for lead vocals after Scotts oassing, and never looked back. This album was a powerhouse and blew many of us away
Bon Scott was pre 1980 and Brian Johnson Followed he was Bon Scott’s replacement when he passed away in early 1980 …. This brings back 1981 for me my senior year of HS
Listening to these guys since the late 70s..seen em twice..awesome band!!!
Bon Scott songs are all the AC/DC albums of the 1970s... I think my favorites of this era are "Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap" "Whole Lotta Rosie" "TNT" and a comic/parody song "Big Balls" ... I was hoping Nikki Manaj would do a cover version a few years ago ...
😂You had me cracking up, the look on your face when Brian started singing!!!
I've been obsessed with them for years. They make one feel as if you can do anything
RIP Malcolm! such a nice guy, well they all are really.
This was the first single after Bon died, you have no idea the feelings that went through the fans hearts when this track started playing!!
Long time AC/DC fan here. If you want to have an absolute blast for 2 hours, watch Live At Donington. When I was younger I had only listened to like 2 albums before seeing that concert. Opened me up to a ton of their hits and made me a huge fan. That concert is 100% amazing. It's on TH-cam somewhere, too. That was also the reason I started playing guitar. Watching Angus bounce around on stage like a chinchilla on speed for 2 hours was enough for me.
Miss Maggie, I’m a child of the 60’s if you haven’t heard of them check out the band called Heart . Annie Wilson on vocals and her sister Nancy on guitar will absolutely blow your mind.
AC DC, is one of those bands that they are good anytime such as; Cooking dinner, in the shower, had a bad day at work and you need to get that out of your head on the drive home.
My first ACDC song was 'Shook me all night long' and it hit me in the mid 1980s. Instantly my favorite band, still is . . .
Same story here, I got kinda thunderstruck when first hearing You shook me all night long when I was 13, at a party. Still my all time favourite band to date!
You have to watch their live versions of Thunderstruck and Highway to Hell from 2009. Wow. Great reaction. Love watching your enjoyment. Makes the song fresh. Thanks.
I was lucky to be in my 20's during the 80's!Rock on!! For those about to rock! Bad song!
I highly recommend their Live at the River Plate performances. The stage presence of Angus and Bryan comes through extremely well and Angus’ guitar work is amazing.
It would be so fun to see you react to AC/DC It's a long way to the top. Bon Scott is lead on this song. Oh and you get Rock N Roll with Bagpipes.
It's very samey and repetitive though. Rosie or Dirty Deeds are so much better.
"Stand up and be counted
For what you are about to receive
We are the dealers
We'll give you everything you need
Hail-hail to the good times
'Cause rock has got the right of way
We ain't no legend, ain't no cause
We're just living for today
For those about to rock, we salute you
We rock at dawn, on the front line
Like a bolt right out of the blue
The sky's alight with the guitar bite
Heads will roll and rock tonight"
🙏🎶🎶❤
For me one of the best rock groups ... EVER ! 🤟
I highly recommend “You Shook Me All Night Long”. It’s the first AC/DC song I heard in the early 80’s and it’s a classic.
NYE 1999 a friend asked me what the best song of the millennium was. I said immediately "I know!" He stopped me "well there really can't be just one". I continued "You shook me all night long!" "Ok, fair".
I'm forever in love with Maggie's quirkiness. 🤘😍
👍🤗💖🤘
I was in highschool when back in black came out. Founding singer Bon Scott was previously in an early pop band called The Valentine's. They did a song called, "build me up buttercup"....
Who sings like Brian Johnson?? One of a kind singer. The guitars on this song are so good. Iconic stuff.
For those about to rock would be a great song to react to
I salute you
If you're getting into AC/DC, get the 'If You Want Blood...You've Got It' live album, (with the late great Bon Scott on vocals) it's generally regarded as one of the finest live albums ever recorded.
Best album ever
What I like about you is you actually take time to look them up, and you can identify their unique traits. I feel like that gives people an insight in to how truly amazing they are.
If you really want to hear Bon vs Brian (there’s no wrong choice), “Let there be rock” Live at the Apollo theater in Glasgow 1978 and there’s a ton of Brian’s singing live at Donnington. Also look up Can I sit next to you girl with Dave Evans, that’ll give you an appreciation for Bon’s singing
Been playing guitar for 20+ years and I always start my practice sessions by playing this. I know pretty much every second of this song intimately, and despite its apparent simplicity it's surprisingly difficult to get the groove and feel just right. It has like two of the best riffs ever written AND one of the best guitar solos ever written. Doesn't get any better than this. Definitely need to check out some of Bon Scott's tracks with the band too. I'd nominate Whole Lotta Rosie.
its awesome when someone finds AC/DC's music.
girl, I got hooked in the 70's- 13 concerts in, they're the best band of all time
You need to react to some of their performances from Live at River Plate in 2011.
I think the next AC/DC song you should do should be "It's a Long Way To the Top (If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll)". This has a unique sound, and is from their very first album, featuring their very first lead vocalist.
Bon is not the original singer for AC/DC. It was Dave Evans. He sang Can I Sit Next To You Girl, but he was replaced with Bon before they put out studio albums.
Yesssssssss
I totally really enjoy your reaction I love the fact that you are an opera trained singer and you can appreciate old school rock and roll. I mean it really warms my heart to see you appreciate them
Always have love and respect for drummers and base players. Much respect
You are so awesome 😊 One of my favorite AC/DC that I would love to see you doing a reaction to is "you shook me all night long" To me that one is epic. Thank you 😊 🌹
Thank you 😊 🌹
To many good ones from these guys. Ive been a fan since my young teens. Im 52 now. They've rocked my life for almost 40 years. Another you should try is "who made who".
Yes, us drummers do rock out and just chill. Most of the time. We can be cut loose and when we are is when u see us get into it like the other band members.
I grew up with AC/DC. I’m glad you found them. “A long way to the top” is a great song with Bon Scott. One of my favorites.
There are 2 stages of AC/DC... both equally great. Back in Black is the start of the 2nd stage with Brian Johnson singing. Check out "Let there be rock" if you want to hear some the greatest Bon Scott songs. You can get also "High Voltage" to get the best of Bon Scott. He truly was a one of a kind front man for them before he passed away. Bon actually was looking out the the boys in the band recommending them go see the band "Geordie" who was fronted by Brian Johnson, a few years before Bon died. Such a great history with AC/DC. If you get tired of listening to Bon, pop in a Brian Johnson album. Both are really incredible vocalists that were made for AC/DC rock and roll. I have been a fan since the late 70s, and still to this day listen to them daily.....
