    I just traded in my 2018 Silverado for a 2023 because it offered wireless Android auto and the big new screen. I used to use a cord with my 2018 but the new infotainment system does not seem to let me use the maps on my phone and instead wants me to have a subscription to use google on my truck. I could push the buttons on the steering wheel and say call Joe with my old stuck. now when I hit the button it says I need a subscription. Did I make a mistake buying a new truck? Also I loved the speed sensitive volume control and cant seem to find it anywhere on new truck. Seems a bummer to "upgrade" and lose some of my favorite features. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks

      Hello Justin. You won't be able to "update" your vehicle to add this feature. You would have to replace the radio with one that has this feature built in. There are aftermarket products that you can use to give you this function that are MUCH cheaper than replacing the whole radio

    • @gmbullfrog1004
      @gmbullfrog1004  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Leticia. I had a similar problem in my vehicle. However, mine turned out to be the cable. I found that by using a thicker USB-C cable that it allowed the data to flow more freely.
      Most simple connectivity issues can be fixed if you completely remove your vehicle from your phone and your phone from your vehicle. Then restart both and reconnect from the start. If this doesn't work it could also be an update issue since your phone is so new. Try searching for the most recent updates on your vehicle infotainment screen.

      Hello Mo Sam. Your vehicle should automatically connect to your phone as soon as you turn on the car as long as your phone's Bluetooth is turned on. The only thing I can think of that might help is setting up your user profile through your vehicle. That might "force" the vehicle to remember your phone.
      Your vehicle isn't still in DEMO mode by ay chance is it?

      Hello James. The GMC Sierra did not incorporate the wireless carplay function in their vehicles until the 2021 model year. I highly doubt there will be an update that adds this since there are additional components in the radio that are required to receive such a signal. There are some items you can purchase to give you this ability that are reasonable in price. However, if you are wanting it to look stock with no extra attachments, it gets to be very costly.

      I am not sure there is anything you can do with that one. That sounds like a systems issue that a certified mechanic will need to evaluate. You can try completely erasing your vehicle from your phone and your phone from your vehicle then start the connection process from scratch. This will fix most common issues but I don't think this will fix yours but it is worth a try.

MY radio, Infotainment 3 with Nav, is so faint during daylight hours it's nearly impossible to see. No problems during hours of darkness, or very low light conditions. The Nav system lights up OK no matter daylight or dark. Is there a fix for the daytime brightness? Hoping you can provide some insight on a possible solution. TIA.

I don't have access to a 2021 Colorado to experiment with, but there should be a brightness knob to the left of the steering wheel that will adjust the brightness of both your infotainment screen and center console screen. Its a small knob and the icon on it looks like a speedometer with a light bulb. That is the only thing I know of that can help with this.

    • @gmbullfrog1004
      @gmbullfrog1004  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello TeTe Luv. There are a few things you can try before taking your vehicle to a mechanic. First, try and completely delete your phone from your vehicle and delete your vehicle out of your phone. Then reset your phone and begin the connect from the beginning. If this doesn't work, check both your phone and vehicle for updates. They need to be on the same "version" in order to communicate with one another. If you are using the Android Auto/Apple Carplay applications on your phone, delete and reinstall those as well or force stop and clear cache if the app is part of your phone. The only other thing I could think of, is make sure you are using a transfer cable and not just a charge cable.
      This should fix any common problems that occur. If you are using a much older phone, it is possible that your phone has become "out-of-date", but if it worked before then I don't believe that is the case. I would check with your local GM dealer before buying a new phone however.

      Hello Sarah. Thank you for your comment. I was under the impression that Ford did not offer wireless Carplay/Android Auto in any of their vehicles pre-2021. Ford introduced this feature as one of their main highlights that they released with their new SYNC-4 system that the came out with this model year. I do not believe that even the brand new Escapes have this compatibility yet. Did you have an after market add-on that gave you this function?
      To answer your question as far as the Equinox is concerned, Chevrolet currently does not offer wireless Carplay on the Equinox. You can still connect via Bluetooth and listen to music that way, but it won't give full Carplay functionality. Hopefully the 2022's will offer this ability. I have been told it is possible to add wireless functionality with an aftermarket adapter, but I am not super familiar with how that works.

      Oh goodness Michael. Sorry to hear that. I have had several people message me about having issues with their wireless Apple Carplay/ Android Auto. The majority of the time it ends up being an update issue either with the vehicle or with your mobile device. I would check to see if your phone needs an update or has had a recent update that may be interfering with your connection. If your phone needs an update, go ahead and update it then disconnect your phone from your vehicle entirely. This means deleting it from your vehicle and deleting your vehicle from your phone. If you are using the Android Auto app, delete it also. Then reinstall and connect everything. That will fix most common issues.
      If you are still experiencing issues, check to make sure your vehicle does not have any updates. Your vehicle should update automatically but sometimes if the update is interrupted, it will need to be manually installed. You can check for updates in your settings under the systems tab. Just scroll down until you see updates then press to check for updates. It will also tell you when your system was last updated. If you notice your problems began around the update time, then head to your local GM dealer and have them uninstall and reinstall the update.
      Hope this helps!

      @gmbullfrog1004  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello SC Tester. I have come across several people who are experiencing wireless connectivity issues. Most of the time this can be fixed by updating either your phone or your vehicle, but sometimes that is not the case. This is a new feature that GM has started adding to their vehicles, so they are still working out some kinks. If you are able to have full connectivity while using a cable to connect to the vehicle then you are most likely experiencing an update issue.

      @@gmbullfrog1004 thank you for replying. However there is not a app for iOS like you did for android. The title is little confusing because it says “apple CarPlay” but that wasn’t explained. ;)
