    The Dyna Ultra is a Sealant that is not always easy to find in stores, Some show it in their online but never have it in stock, you can however get it here ebay.to/2k0YIsL and look further and you can find all colors on Ebay and its NEW not sitting on shelves for months. I order 5 at a time, and contact the seller to make a deal, and they will do that, to get it all shipped for $5

    You can take the seals off and put in hot water while warm hot to touch stretch them back out , put the tongue grove of the seal in the window and repress them in , might get 1 to 3 year before they shrink again ,

    DO not know if you will see this been a long time. Thank you for posting this. We just brought a 1983 burro 13 foot, and the previous owner started to renovate the camper. The windows are more then we could afford new and only one place has them, hugely expensive and that is without shipping. apparently, he tried to remove one window so is missing a few pieces and only a couple of windows have pull away areas, so this is a perfect fix. We are pulling windows out to check seals and fiberglass around them. As one has a small piece of fiberglass missing which we will fix. One window is cracked, all are Plexi glass. So are going to reinstall, seal good, replace the weather type stripping on inside, buffing out aluminum. I would also pay allot to ship; it would be from Washington state to Florida. So am extremely happy you posted this. It is only a few inches in a couple of spots on front window only and a few corners. Thank you, and God Bless you. Peace!

    Can you explain how to glue the weatherstripping that goes on outside of horsetrailer window? I have product that worked on the back door weatherstripping but I clamped it to stay in place. How would I keep it pressed together on window..just hold it?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Use multiples of small wood blocks, size of domino's or larger and packing tape as needed to hold it in till adhesive is cured. It's easier been flipping the trailer on its sides so gravity does it 😂

    I’m curious will the window slide fine after this cures? This is happening on all my sliding windows but want to make sure I don’t accidentally seal them shut for the ones that slide. Do I need to separate the caulk with a razor from the glass after it cures?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The caulk seal is used on the outer part of the window so it doesn't actually end up in the slides that the window travels on.

    Would this be good for sealing roofs when mounting solar on them?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No, not recommended for flat use. Depending on your roof material you have much better options for that. Liquid nails rubberized roof patch is about the best for bedding the contact points of solar mounts.

      I use Dynaflex amzn.to/3djJ5HZ and clean all surfaces with mineral spirits first, Klean Strip is best, amzn.to/3dzmHe5 , Use a rag dampened with mineral spirits to clean up immediately gentle pressure without pressing any mineral spirits into seam, after screws are tightened and you'll have a clean finish.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Be sure to allow full drying, 36 to 48 hours. Then lightly wipe the surface with a paper towel and a little rubbing alcohol then add more where needed smoothing it with your finger as needed. It will settle some but not much. If your FLEX does not do this, check to see if the tube is gone bad or was allowed to freeze at any point.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1

      I'm looking at the round corners and not sure how you do it. Do you just "fill in the gap" from where the seal has pulled away?

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      OK - I have done the entire seals, works great but you must do some serious cleaning. Use alcohol 70% or higher and tooth brushes from the dollar store!! Allow to dry then carefully you will use carburetor cleaner sprayed onto a soft rag and wipe surface again well at glass and metal points, let dry, then apply the sealant first layer 1/4 to 3/8" bead exactly where groove of metal and glass is, smooth with finger, then in 20 to 30 minutes after its skinned ( temp/humidity may extend time) you will increase bead to almost 1/2" and repeat around the frame to mimic the original seal. Make you a plastic putty knife with the profile you want it to be and don't worry about a film of extra on the glass you can clean it up in 2 days, but keep extra flash over off the metal best you can.

    I was wondering .. when you use 12v .. 500watt wind ..
    What if you chose a 48v 500watt wind.. and used a MPPT @200v 60A EPever 6415
    To go from 48v 500watt to 12v 2000Watt ??? The turbines cost the same but MPPT cost a bit

      I see IT like a PV at 250watt 32v 8A put direckt at 12v or with a PVM so 12v x 9A 108Watt
      With MPPT the 250watt 32v 8A make 12v x 21A = 252watt
      Thats over 100% mor .. but i may be wrong .. .. if you chardge you batteries direckt truh the rectifier

    Absolutely do NOT do this! I followed this advice and one month later the Dynaflex Ultra was not cured. The frame of the window is now holding water due to applying a spot of this goop to "hold" in the glazing rubber. All 6 windows I did which took 2 days, were a complete FAIL! I'll be laboring for days to get this Dynaflex out of the frame so can replace the glazing with new. 😔

    • @JOHNDANIEL1
      @JOHNDANIEL1  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      You are a first out of thousands. RV centers have been using it for 9 years plus. A Cause of this is either caulk that froze prior to use, water trapped in window seal when used, excessive moisture from inside trailer during curing, applied in temps below 45 degrees.

  • @froglobster
    @froglobster 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I was in the RV industry repair and inspection shop for 7 years. If there was a little separation of 1/4 or 1/2 inch we would do this lazy man cheat. But for the most part we would take real pride and do it proper. Stupid to pull the window out and do the job cheap. Rip out the old shrunken garbage window moulding -clean as necessary and replace with new moulding.
    Problem solved. Looks real not trailer park trash repair. Do it right.

    • @JOHNDANIEL1

      They made five types of window seal mold, when you attempt to order it they want to sell you a 50 ft roll, maybe you want to get in the business of selling cut to fit pieces on eBay and you'll get a lot of money out of it because it's a common problem. For most people $4 tube of useful sealant will stop their problem and it's smarter to stop the problem than it is to look bad.

      So far I have a 1976 Holiday rambler that was sealed up with flex 230 over 9 years ago, it has not leaked separated or caused a problem. Even using it in the superheated desert West Texas and oil field.
      RV supply stores want you to buy an absolutely similar product but with their brand on it for four times the price. Personally I have not found a better item for the price and it works as I show in the video. I would definitely recommend Dap flex 230 in the color of your choice.
