Great little project! i'm starting to use MDF more in my carving project. Seems to work really well as long as you seal it and a newer bit does help. As always, thanks again.
Thank you! I did not create the vector. I honestly don’t remember where I got it. It might have been from thingiverse or the numerous FB groups I follow.
Hey brother! I can’t remember if I bought the files off Etsy as a package deal or off the FB groups. But I’m sure if you check out the FB groups under their file section someone posted a file.
So for this piece I did not do a rough pass. I used a 60 degree vbit for the entire piece then a 1/4 downcut end mill for the profile pass. Welcome to the world of CNC and the rabbit hole!
I am an old Marine and I have an Avid CNC. Would it be possible to get a copy of the G-code you generated? Thanks in advance for your help. Good video.
@@encarwoodworking Just in case you ever want to do it because you deleted your files of your thumb drive, you might want to know that you really didn't and they can be retrieved. You can think of it as putting your foot in the mud. Your foot may not be there anymore but your foot print still is. It easy to google the code...or it used to be anyway.
I appreciate you watching the video!! The bits used were a 60 degree vbit for all the lettering and graphics then a 1/4 down cut end mill for profile cut
To be honest with you Mark but I don’t remember 😭. But if I had to guess it would be from one of the numerous FB groups associated with CNC/Stl files etc. sorry I couldn’t be more helpful

Bro, why you so mad. You mad cuz you don't have the tools to do it? The machine to do it? The know how to make the machine carve it out? You mad cuz his hustle is better than your hustle? Poor guy.

Thanks Ron! I like mdf too much.
MDF has glue in it which can be harder on blades and cutters.
@deplorable_2024 Very true and thanks for reminding me to buy new bits.
Very sharp, Marine. Well done!
Ooorah! Thank you!
Beautiful, nice work. Just got my Onefinity and just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for watching and subscribing! You will really enjoy the CnC and make wonderful things.

Thank you so much 😀
Great job looks great i have been carving a lot of cherry with my CNC I will have to try MDF again its been a while
I like MDF a lot since it is inexpensive, but it is hard on the bits. I appreciate you watching and the kind words!

Hahah I should use one.
I love this. I would love to make something like this for Army Military Police. Any idea where I could find a file for this?
If I remember correctly it was either in the file section of a FB group or Etsy. Thanks for your kind words and for watching!
Lovely result. You are putting your machine to good use. Did you creat the vector yourself?
Thank you! I did not create the vector. I honestly don’t remember where I got it. It might have been from thingiverse or the numerous FB groups I follow.
Hello, I’m a Marine and just got my CnC. Where can I find the VCarve/gsender file for the USMC EGA?
Hey brother! I can’t remember if I bought the files off Etsy as a package deal or off the FB groups. But I’m sure if you check out the FB groups under their file section someone posted a file.
Excellent! Thank you Brother! And keep up the outstanding work!!
Awesome
Thank you for watching and the kind words!

I’m new to CNC and learning. Did you do a rough cut first then a detail pass? Also what was your bit choose on this project.
So for this piece I did not do a rough pass. I used a 60 degree vbit for the entire piece then a 1/4 downcut end mill for the profile pass. Welcome to the world of CNC and the rabbit hole!

Thanks sir!

So sorry for the late reply. It is oramask. I got it from Amazon!
👍
Thanks Pete!
Where can I get a copy of this design layout?
I bought this file on Etsy but im sure this can be found on numerous FB groups as well. But the ones I found on FB tends cleaning up in node editing.
Why put shellac on it before cutting?
It helps the oramask to stay in place when I begin carving. Thanks for watching!
What does the oramask do?
Could you sand the top instead?

USMC emblem is called the EGA (Eagle, Globe, & Anchor), and is trademark protected.
