I can't over the sense of entitlement these tenants have in the UK. If you are having financial problems you engage your landlord and not ghost them and then have the audacity to be nonchalant about it. It makes my blood boil

He got his nerves to videotape the house to rent it out…and not pay the actually homeowners and then run out the courthouse like a punk!
This can't help but have a ripple effect. People don't rent out homes to lose money and go through all this. Unless it is a large company that owns the homes and has its own legal resources, I foresee fewer and fewer homes available for rent. This will only serve to help the rich and those exploiting the system. How very sad.
I absolutely live this show! In real time its informative wherever you are. The basic standard should be available. No matter where you are.

I agree. Unless the furniture is properly sanitized after each tenant it’s kinda gross especially a bed.

If a whitegood breaks or fails the tenant can be blamed, if they want to use their own they still have to look after the original.
Anything a tenant replaces has to be stored somewhere and returned afterwards.
As someone who rents, I have my own stuff. My fridge is new and efficient, my washing machine is clean (unlike many in rentals) and my bed is comfy, it's what I like, my style, my stuff.
From watching these shows, it's obvious that these tenants don't have an ounce of conscience; Deplorable behaviour and not a care in the world how much it's costing the owners of these properties.
When it came to the 5 bedroom where the tenant was subletting the property, he left her owing so much money, but he collected all that rent for the rooms he sublet!
It's so sad that this woman, who is sick, has to deal with a narcissistic tenant like this. Hopefully, they can get him out of the property ASAP and without any fuss!!!
She shouldn’t even be allowed to own property here and should remain where she came from.
Apart from anything else, can I just say that Barbara's apartment (the one with the bright red main door) looks absolutely gorgeous? It just looks so warm, cosy and welcoming. I would move in tomorrow!

These housing do called helpers chuck them out but can't really rehome them.They say it's dangerous, it's safer than freezing to death or being attacked on the street.I know it's too many people for one house but they only pay $10 a night and have no option
I don't get it. Make the tenants pay rent weekly. Why wait until they owe you thousands to do something about it??
In Sweden, had similar laws about tentans. Nowadays if you missed one paid rent, you'll be evicted about three weeks.

It is a security problem and the house was rented to a couple not to a entire town. if you are so worried about them, than take them to your house....

I'm not so sure. You can always live in a tent (which I have), rather than having bodies sleeping all around you and next to you. The snoring and the smells UGH!😵😵

There's no way the human that packed all of those guys in there are housing them for free!!!! They even have people jammed up in a freaking utility room and they don't care, but what happens if a fire breaks out?? Its very dangerous for ppl to be crammed in there even though guess it's safer than being on the street
I wouldn't attend an interview without a lawyer. you have to protect yourself at all cost, especially when you are dealing with people sub letters that don't care about the law.

I love this show. I would never be a landlord in Gt Britain. It's disgusting how tenants on this show refuse to pay rent or leave. What a lengthy, stressful and expensive process it is to have them evicted and call bailiffs etc. The laws there need to change, unethical tenants know the rules and take advantage of the situation.
It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.
The U.K. now has a Labour Government who have no time whatsoever for private sector landlords. It is soon going to be very difficult for the latter to evict troublesome tenants.

Where was the Agency?. Properties are generally checked every 3 months. Thats why you pay a 10% fee...

Iv been homeless before for a whole year. I slept in a tent and used the YMCA for showers, gym, and more. I got put into a young womens shelter. And got a job. Then I got a home. A boyfriend. A dog. And now im currently binge watching this show while drinking and eating pizza in my bed. Its possible people. The vast majority just think its impossible or refuse to rough it for a while to get where you need to be. My partner is indian, I know how they and pakistani like to or dont mind to live. Houses full of people is normal. They make it work. I dont knkw why the western world and england is so mind boggled by it. I get there are regulations and fire hazards, but they exist even with one person living in a home. Families live together in large 10+ people homes. Its normal for them. I understand both sides and its just upsetting. There is no in the middle unfortunately. I will never judge people for squatting and living in large housing situations. You do what you can in this global housing epidemic. Too many people, not enough homes

Where there's a will there's a way - deprive the owners of the property of ownership and it's solved. But then again, there are a lot of people who lose their jobs, probably because it doesn't come to anything, but then you don't have to cry about how many resources it costs to run that kind of policy either.
I don't get how the landlords who are owed thousand's of pounds leave it so long before doing something about it...I just don't get it. Going by some of the cars they drive it looks like they are not all that desperate for money.
You can't do anything until a certain period of time passes and then it takes months and months to resolve. Meanwhile the tenant is not paying rent the entire time

The Polish lady really has no idea. Not a clue. Being a landlord (landlady) is not a “hobby.” It is not something you do as a part time activity.
To be a successful landlord or landlady in the U.K., you have to treat it as full time job.
Keep on top of your rental property and income at all time.
