I'm about to retire and my plan was to sell my house and get an RV to enjoy the country in. Now with Covid, housing shortages and incredible rent I'm keeping my paid off house and just staying home. RV parks have doubled or more their space rent. $60-$90. a night. Forget it, I'm staying in my paid off house till l rot.

Never give anyone money without getting a receipt. When the landlord only wants to be paid in cash and he does not give you a receipt that is a red flag.
My heart goes out for this gentleman but did he reach out to social services? That place is in no condition for his wife to stay in. Maybe they can find him suitable housing.

This eviction moratorium has taken a bad situation and made it worse. I agree they need to crack down on slumlords but enabling people that trash rental properties and don’t pay rent isn’t right either. You really can’t expect landlords to maintain property if they aren’t getting paid either.
No you can blame the system that has diliberatly created this nightmare. You can blame the massive buy ups of suddenly available property by ruthless tax dodging corporate entities. You can blame Ragen for fucking the entire system of Federal funding and oversight.
I'm a small time real estate investor, and I can tell you why this situation happens and it happen all the time in these class C,D property. The cap rate for these properties are typically high. Meaning low entry bar/ starting capital to start investing and higher cash flow. But the catch is, it comes with all the baggages shown. It's really a lose-lose situation and both side wanted to take advantage of each other. Cheap rent attracted people with less accountability: Tenants unlikely to be up to date on rent and property owner that only sees investment opportunities. But It is or should be an ephemeral stage for both side as well: renters that start out in their life/down on their luck can take advantage of cheaper rate, small time land lord can start somewhere relatives in expensive. I lived in an off campus apartment for 225 for several year, and a garage room for 350 after I found my first job. I knew about the shitty situation I signed up for, and I just kept my head down and saved for my first down payment in a nice area. A little persistent and understanding goes a long way. For both side :)
My boss had a millionaire for a client, who advised not to start buying rental properties because you often put more money into them than you get out of them. That's what happened in my family. One bad tenant ruined their first rental bldg & got away with never having to pay what she owed. They sold the bldg to a man in Texas who never paid. When my family went to do something about it they found that they couldn't collect due to TX laws. Just saying. Buyer beware.
@@shonDonFH I’m not saying everyone that paid cheap rent are irresponsible. People appreciate things when they had to pay more for it. It’s a marketing mentality thing. A car. A photography session. A nice high rise in NYC.
Inflation. All of the money created as stimulus has reduced the purchasing power of existing money. There is a cost to government spending that gets passed on to everyone. Unfortunately, inflation affects wage earners and the middle class the most. Asset prices increase with inflation so the wealthy are affected less.
This is BS. The tenants saw the place before they rented. They could have chose not to take the place. They probably got evicted from every place they lived before for squatting and begged the landlord to move in. Once they are in they are demanding the place to be the four seasons while they pay holiday in rates.
Ofcoursecthats usually the case but if he did his job he wouldnt allow them to move in and possibly destroy his place. Ive seen tenants create their own inhabitable space then complain about it. Its ridiculous. The city is to do an inspection every 6 months in circumstances like this. They would be able to see if a tenant is destrying the property or the landlord is culpable for everything. In my experience as a landlord 85% of all issues were tenant cause the other 15% were from normal wear and tear or just something failing. Then when i tell them they cant do this because it will cause this, they still do it anyway and cause damage then expect me to pay. Its insane.
If you rent an old dirty apartment, you shouldn't expect the four seasons. However, you also probably didn't realize you would FALL INTO THE FLOOR. C'mon now. There is definitely a line between getting a rundown apartment and a death trap apartment.
No one really knows what goes on other than what the media shows… the landlord literally said they destroyed the apartment so they didn’t have to pay..what happens when he actually fixes it documents it and then they still won’t pay
They can't afford to go anywhere else. That was the best they could do. Did you see his wife? This man is living a hard life. I was so grossed out by that apartment, but some people aren't financially able to do better. Where do people go - when they have no money???? Very few apartments available - even if u have money. With all the illegals coming here - it's getting very crowded.
It’s the cities responsibility to relocate them, the other option is the property management or landlord might own other places that aren’t like this they can move to. Ultimately it’s not the landlord or the tenants fault but the cities, they need to be more strict on getting building and code inspection so the landlord only has the option of fixing it or getting fined.
That landlord dude is no angel but these tenants also take advantage of the moratorium. That chick (from another video) doesn’t pay rent for months , doesn’t want to move out because tons of ridiculous reasons. I bet the lease didn’t allow her 7- people entourage to live in 1 bedroom apartment but she did it anyway behind the landlord’s back. How can she have a $400 electrical bill without AC unless it’s unpaid for accumulated months? Let’s hope that we are not going to have a repeat of a LV landlord shot the tenants to death. These people are just equally terrible. Move out and stop cry me a river.
How can u say that after looking at those conditions of the man's apartment and some people don't have the credit score or money to move out and outta that 950 rent the landlord could've fixed some things it's only 5,000 dollars to repair the electric in those small building and they will work with you because they need the business and can't afford to turn it down same with the leaks and floors come on use the brains it works

How is this possible this is sad and disgusting? People saying move but Las Vegas rent is getting too expensive they staying there because that's probably all they can afford.
The more housing they build the lower the rent will go. Also have to get rid of this moratorium so landlords can evict and make more room for people who actually can pay.
@@tazyboy28 one thing u don't realize is even if the landlord kick out all the tenants a lot of their units are still going to be empty since rent is going up all over the country if u raise so high to the point we're average families can't afford it u will have nothing but empty units , think about if your building is in a bad area or the apartment is nothing but a whole in the wall people who make really good money will not move in raising rent and kicking out low income tenants hurts some landlords as much as the tenants
It's possible because gubbament forces social problems (affordability, homelessness, mental illness, drug addiction) on to citizens instead of doing their flucking job and fixing it. Property owners forced to provide free rent and unlimited utilities for YEARS in most of the country. Los Angeles is extending it ANOTHER year. Poverty is not a property owners funking problem. And too often the government had a role in creating that poverty in the first place

But in Vegas, people are really struggling to make ends meet. Plus, there's no rent control in Nevada. Most jobs don't pay enough to cover rent and costs of living. In addition to rent, most properties charge extra fees...it's crazy!

I am not sure about that right now.... You can find condos for that price, but such a condo comes with an association fee that is quite significant. In either case, I can smell the bad life choices being made by these tenants.
@zqnz wmn You are correct. I don't know jack about this man and his disabled wife. But neither do you. All we think we know is what this news report told us, and we should understand how they often do not tell the entire story. There's a roommate who is involved, and who knows how much that person (shouldn't be?) paying, there's a dog which may be a service dog, but if not, they aren't $free$. The landlord may want $cash$ because the checks being written out may be no good. We do not know how much is being spent on beer and cigarettes, and for all we know, they have Iphone 11's. And look at that "old SUV" there. Those are some pretty fancy wheels on there. And quite honestly, it looks like a nicer vehicle than I ever had, and I think something else would be more suitable for getting a disabled spouse into and out of. Yeah it is a crap apartment. Yeah it looks decrepit. Yeah housing costs are ridiculous. Even health care is ridiculous. I am not denying any of that. However, over all my decades of being on this rock, I have learned that there is a strong correlation between people who live in crap apartments like this and poor life choices. It is definitely possible that these people are an exception to that, but the odds are in favor of that not being the case, and I found SOME evidence in the video to support my case.
@zqnz wmn Perhaps some proper punctuation will make your statement more understandable. I already admitted to being speculative, and I'm sure that you know something that I know nothing about. I may not be that smart, but I do understand how humans have a predilection to make poor life decisions which dig them into a hole. If that's not what is going on here, then I wish I could help them somehow, but I am not going to take what I hear on the news at face value. That is a bad idea.
They're paying more in rent than I pay for my mortgage. There is no way that landlord should get away with renting those units in such horrible conditions.
@TH-camkeepsbanning Ikeepmakingmoreaccounts unfortunately people have this thing called fear of being homeless because when you're on the road anything can happen
If you don't like where you live, move, it cannot be simpler than that. If he's a slum lord, move. Conditions of apartment may also be due to BOTH landlord neglect & tenant abuse. Either side not happy with each other, separate. Why on earth should any tenant expect to live rent free? I've dealt with tenants who actually get angry at ME because rent is due, and the apartment is in good condition in nice neighborhood. I'm a landlord, retired, barely able to pay my own bills, have you ever dealt with months of bad checks, insufficient fund? That's why I collect cash. I pay taxes, but one bad deposited check will bounce my other checks, which means fees & bad credit for ME Government wants us to fight with each other rather than take responsibility for economic hardship
Sometimes, bad people move into a dilapidated building and destroy further and blame landlord to stay there for free. and block any attempts by landlord to fix the problems. Tenants always have upper hand. They can move out anytime easily but landlords cannot kick people out easily.
That lady does not need to be in that environment. It looked very unsanitary! Her poor soul!! Her hands and feet were wrapped up in dirty wrap. Get her out!!
Maybe you live in a bad area? Rentals in nice areas are nothing like this. I had a similar landlord once when I lived in a slum in San Francisco and it sucked. It was so stressful. I'm glad I don't live in places like that any more. Most rentals are kept in good condition from my experience.
What is typical is the high correlation between abject poverty and abject ignorance. It's also as natural as evolution. If one is too schtoopid to make themselves a high value asset to a society through education, that same dyp💩 will blame their woes on others
My rent is $350 a month in an old 50 year old building and my place has no issues. It's called preventative maintenance and not abusing things. All my appliances are at least 30 years old and work just fine. Poor people tend to have destructive behavior and no life skills for maintaining a home.

This happened in San Francisco. Unfortunately my uncle has severe dementia. He’s in Home. His wife had a heart attack and died in the apartment. Somebody had bought the building two years prior to this. This happened a year and a half ago his wife having a heart attack at 53 suddenly and he was in a, she’s in a skilled nursing for the rest of his life so she had to move anyways cause she wasn’t on the original rent control. He’d lived there since 1991 and she passed away in 2022 and he’d been in a skilled nursing for a year so she had to move out anyways, but somebody bought the building and re-gutted the whole place and they were only paying not even 1000 and I said the reason why they’re turning your water off is because they want you to move , but by then he couldn’t understand anything, but this case was purely their fault him not being able to handle affairs and her not working and there was no way she could stay there while his Social Security is paying for his permanent care at the hospital because the owner wanted them out for a long time because they were paying he sold one of the units for 1 million and he could rent that unit out for $7000 a month and this isn’t Pacific Heights and Russian Hill actually in Russian Hill so I kept telling him for years You know you’re paying nothing you need to bank that extra money away and you know he had millions of dollars passed through his hands and there’s no way he should’ve ended up pennyless this way my uncle there’s no reason why he should’ve ended up the way he ended up I think because his mind wasn’t right he was spending money that he didn’t. Some landlords like renting to the disadvantaged. The landlords mindset is all about the money knowing that there places are run down crap holes they know how many poor people are in this world and rent the unit as is not fixing a thing. They use the excuse that the tenents ruin everything. Not all poor people are pigs and many care for there homes. I have seen many rich slobs that hire the poor to take care of there messes. Southern California here: Jeebus Chroist! If this landlord is "legally" allowed to earn money off the backs of the oppressed, sheeeeeiiiit----, than I guess Las Vegas is the wild, wild west. It seems to me that his setup preys on the down and out. I hope a good 'somebody' comes in to raise bar of of higher standards to the benefit of the everyone involved. But on the other side of things, it'd be very interesting to look into the books of the landlord. Perhaps he is barely unable to scrap by having to conduct repair after repair in the purchase of a neverending money pit that should've been demolished decades ago. On the other end of the spectrum, he might be playing the dragon's "Stay the cash" game because he's using the exploitation of other humans to get to another level in his life, making him feel as if he's come up in status by way of external things. Very interesting coverage and nice reporting by this news station

What's crazy is a lot of the slumlords will eventually receive taxpayer funded rental arrears payments that the tenants applied for in the pandemic. Many of these slumlords own several different properties and live out of town. They don't even report all their yearly rental income if any at all to the IRS. They cheat the tenant and the government.
with conditions such as this (unbelievable, inhabitable place) & lack of repairs the law allows tenants to stop paying rent and use the money to fix these problems if they want to live there
You are right, but that depends on which state you live in. The laws are not created equal in all states. I'm lucky to live in a state whose landlord and tenant laws are exactly what you said.
One of the biggest housing problems is " slumb loards" They take the rent and never fix anything till somebody gets hurt ! Pluss absentee landloards that live hundreds or thousands of miles away and use a management company to deal with problems ! Then you have codes officers who care more about how the building looks on the outside than how safe it is ;; that a big problem too !
It's not up to private individuals to solve GOVERNMENT problems. Affordability and Homelessness are GOVERNMENT issues, just like prison is a GOVERNMENT issue.
They do the same thing when they run restaurants out here. The health department doesn’t seem to hold them accountable just as the city does not hold the landlords accountable often enough. I don’t think foreigner should even be able to own land and businesses in America. That’s just my opinion though..
Poverty, affordability, homelessness, drug addiction, mental illness.... those are GOVERNMENT problems to solve, not property owners. The government is evil and incompetent, and you are ignorant. Both are horrific for society
Doesn't matter landlords have more backing them , with on time rent paid even. They shouldn't be allowed to shut water off have repairs go undone and ect. In these matters. Its the tenant who had to move if code enforcement have to step in. And landlord just then does cheep work , ups rent wanted, and finds someone else to move in till he wants more repairs are needed and they do it over n over. And family that was forced to move due to landlords lack of repairs and up kept while they was in the apt. Has no pertected rights from being out of an apt. It used to be the landlord had to pay for their being misplaced while he does repairs if its that bad . Such as paying for hotel ect. Till repairs are done. But now it all falls on unfair issues and displacement of family's while landlords line their pockets. And the tenant no real backing in these cases. Specially now its more important then ever, that we need the old ways to come back. Making landlords not want living conditions to be bad fining the landlord alone n not holding them accountable to do repairs and not having to pay for displacement of families till they can return to their home don't help the familys at all. This is important more now then ever.
A landlord does not have the responsibility to support his/her tenants. He/she DOES have the responsibility to keep the property in good repair.

The 'wife' is definitely a vulnerable adult seeing her bandaged up, emaciated and laying on that floor. With all these people involved in this complaint did ANY of them seek social services to step in for this woman for possible medical and physical neglect?
I suspect she might be on SSI and the 'husband' needs that check. She MIGHT be on state Medicaid and they are paying him up to 40 hours a week to provided attendant care as her caregiver which he needs that money, too. Seeing her in this condition, on the floor with vermin and insects, sinking floors and falling in walls I think an Adult Protective Service report should be made.

It’s the cities responsibility to relocate them, the other option is the property management or landlord might own other places that aren’t like this they can move to. Moratorium on Evictions is unfair, and it all goes back to the Government, Who will step in and screw it up worse than they already have. Accepting only cash is legal, Witholding receipts is not. Two sides to every story, We don't have both.
Low income families!? What kind of low income can afford almost $1,000 a month rent?
They get roommates
@@winning3329 TO TAKE DRUGS TOGETHER.
AGREED! They might have SSI or SSDI benefits. I worked at a motel and the people who lived there paid with that. & many of them were drug addicts/alcoholics 🤷♀️
@@vaderthekittenchannel1979 Addicts looking for chemicals 24hrs a day to stay alive. Bang their heads against walls. Sit like zombies on the floor. Know what, they did it to themselves. You see them and say " Thank God I am not like them".
Saw many properties for rent recently in good areas including Sun Cities that have obvious problems, and landlord says, hey as is, Nevada LACKS LAWS protecting renters, dare a landlord do such in Orange County California for example.
Nevada is corrupted AF
Why don’t you guys move to Texas, Vegas is way overpriced now
Depends where in Texas. So many moving to Austin, the capitol. It has skyrocketed here.
No don’t come to Texas😷😷
Texas landlords don’t want them
Since the Raiders came here. They've jacked up everybody's rent. No Rent Control. Places over priced. It's Rediculous.
Don't come to Vegas either.
File a CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT!!!
Why won't the govt buy it and demolish it?
Lots of apts buildings like this in Vegas. They should all be demolished so they can't be rented out
Oh sure with what money? The government has no money for that, they won't even clean up the trash from the homeless
You don't like your landlord, your landlord doesn't like you, you don't like your apartment, what do you do next? I'm so confused. Why not heed this man's advice and leave?
@Biff baff why is it so hard to find an apartment in las vegas?
Because hes breaking the law, and its been proven hes doing it. His job is to keep ALL of his properties up to code, so your not telling me you or he doesnt know what hes doing
@@crystalsswtor3760 I didn't say this man (landlord) is right or even ethical. He rents out an unsafe uninhabitable places with the littlest effort given if any at all. I don't think skipping out on rent is OK either because it shows a lack of respect for a resolution. If negotiations don't work, then report this man, pack up your things, move out.
I feel bad for those people but at end of the day landlords are in business to make money I mean no rent no money for repair it s business 101.
@TH-camkeepsbanning Ikeepmakingmoreaccounts Negative
Dual family homes have to be up to code to be able to rent. Have to have regular inspection’s to be able to be occupied or it would get shut down. So no you can’t do what ever you want still need to pull permits.
@TH-camkeepsbanning Ikeepmakingmoreaccounts correct squatters are not renters
I doubt any contract was signed for this property either. In other words, the people living there arent tenants by law, and the landlord isnt legally liable to take care of them. No contract, means they are technically squatters.
This is it: THIS IS THE MOMENT THAT OUR COUNTRY EITHER TEARS ITSELF APART OR FINALLY FIXES ITS ACT.
I’m sure that husband gets disability for his wife, plus unemployment, plus stimulus. People need to pay their debts. Yes, that slumlord is slime, and the building needs to be condemned, but you can’t live there for free. Move!! Looks like the wife should be in a clinic.
He probably cant put her in a clinic because UH he cant afford it, and medicare probably denied it, how is he supposed to pay it
@@crystalsswtor3760 I'd bet she'd qualify for Medicaid which would also pay for Long Term Care. But, her 'husband' would not get her SSI check so he'd be out that income. He could be getting paid for 'attendant care' which would pay him up to 40 hours a week for being her caregiver. Maybe that's why she's in that situation and not in a nursing home.
@@eckankar7756 ….ugh, that poor, unfortunate wife.
@@eckankar7756 the nursing homes are a lot worse
Exactly!!
I wouldn't have moved into that "thing" in the first place, Nasty... please get that gentleman and his wife a decent place 🙏😢
Lol with his no money … decent place? He belongs in the trash
no ones forcing him to live there
All cash AND no receipts?? He is evading taxes FOR SURE. He clearly isn't having the building inspected for occupancy because it would NOT pass....you NEED a paper trail of some sort. I hope they kept their utility receipts because they may have a case with the right attorney.
This slumlord is shtty for sure, for me glad im selling my only rental, people both landlords and renters are becoming weird and stressfully unpredictable these days. Just wish my friend-renter the best, cuz he will have to fork over $800 more/month for a comparable.
I rent 5 units but only to retired professionals. They are the last generation with integrity, workaholics that saved for retirement plus they have Social Security. I've never had one bit of trouble with any of them. I have three that have rented from me for over 13 years. I take them grocery shopping every week. We've become family.
What kinda landlord INSISTS that you pay in CASH and gives NO RECEIPTS??? 👀 He's the shady one and definitely taking advantage of them. He's trying to make it look like they aren't paying rent when they are. Unfortunately the tenants aren't smart enough to know that that is illegal and they can actually deny his request and insist that they have receipts for the paper trail that they need to defend themselves against his lies about them not paying rent. Either that or pay with cashier's checks or money orders. They are letting this man get away with criminal fraud. I'm so glad the city got involved. $950 to live in dilapidated and dangerous conditions? Shoot, you can rent a motel room for that! This situation is completely outrageous! 😱
I am sure this tenants are not paying rent. That's an strategy bad tenants use when they want to live for free.
@@ivetteestrada4590
You don't know that for sure, so you shouldn't say it. Several tenants told that to the reporter. Frank has already lied to the reporter on camera. It is obvious that he is not reporting his rental property income and evading taxes. Several of his properties have been condemned and flagged as uninhabitable and he's renting them anyway. He is greedy and a crook. Please pay attention to the story.
So he moved to the US but still wants to do business like they do it back in his home country , where people have less right than animals. How is it allowed ???
That's a racist comment.
If tenants complain about conditions, yet refuse to move, it must be a good deal.
They probably couldn't afford to move. Plus, think about the 12 month contracts.
I realize some tenents destroy,Frank. But don't rent out to people who appear to be that way. Invest in higher end property, and get higher end people. If you insist on lower end property, then you are going to have to fix it up. The inspectors know who you are now,fix it up,buddy.
"Appear to be that way" So be judgemental and prejudice.
@@raeighnisha428 who isn't at this point? Pattern recognition is accurate 9/10 times.
Don't understand it. If it's like that then why have you stayed
Because they found someone to take advantage. That's why I got rid of my condominiums and got a better property so I don't have to deal with people like that.
Welcome to new America. Sorry folks but soon you won't even find a dog house for $1,000 a month. This is Socialism in action.
We could thank the Terrorists in our White House - they HATE America - and LOVE our enemy countries. The DemonRats want everyone living in the streets - and suffering and struggling - so they and their rich friends could buy up all our homes/apartment buildings - and rent it out an unaffordable rents. They care more about ILLEGALS - and never help Americans!!!!
Yet a roommate moved in! Must not be that bad! People still wanting to move in. Not the best landlord at all, but if he's not getting paid due to the moratorium, then they don't deserve anything at all, and getting more than they deserve. Is this a case of I don't wanna pay my landlord, but I want him to pay for my kids schooling and lunch, and fund the city, and give me a different apartment than what I moved into, and also bring in more roommates, while not paying the landlord? I think so. If you don't like the place, don't move in. Pay for your own kids too.
Something tells me the land lord grew up living in a slum that makes this place look like a castle, he is wondering what these people are complaining about lol. Guarantee that land lord endured and sacrificed alot to buy these places. He is a slum lord but he made sacrifices to become an owner.
Amen 100
The Government has Billions of dollars for rental assistance. Why is it so hard to grab?
The 'wife' is definitely a vulnerable adult seeing her bandaged up, emaciated and laying on that floor. With all these people, facility professionals, 13 Investigates, etc involved in this complaint did ANY of them seek social services to step in for this woman for possible medical and physical neglect?
I suspect she might be on SSI and the 'husband' needs that check. She MIGHT be on state Medicaid and they are paying him up to 40 hours a week to provided attendant care as her caregiver which he needs that money, too. Seeing her in this condition, on the floor with vermin and insects, sinking floors and falling in walls I think an Adult Protective Service report should be made. If she doesn't have Medicaid she will qualify and they will provide Long Term Care to get her into a safe environment, physician and nursing visits and a clean safe place at least while all this apartment mess is being rectified.
13 Investigates totally dropped the ball on this one. They filmed her in this condition and did NOTHING to provide support of a very vulnerable adult. They should have at least reported this to APS (Adult Protection Service) and let them make an informed recommendation. They should change their name to Friday the 13th Investigates.
this is why if you can, don't give your landlord cash. Pay in money orders. That way, you have the stub to hold onto after you fill it out and pay them. For good measure, make a photo copy of your money order after you fill it out and keep the photo copy with the stub.
Their is lots of Conman lowlifes renting. It happened us a few times.Lots of those tenants are the ones who damage the apartments. Then they file complaints, try to sue you.. They do it for they dont pay rent and for they dont get evicted
How is a 20 year old water heater that leaks a tenants fault?
You must be a slumlord too.
Exactly, they want to live for free.
Lowlife tenants will make up anything to look like victims
Poor tenants for needing to be in that situation. Landlord looks like he's way over his head
The landlord don't realize is he has more responsibility than just collecting the money. His responsibility is to keep the establishment together I can clearly see he don't care about anybody he just there for the RENT.
I don’t know, but this guy is a straight up scumbag he’s arrested for breaking into someone’s apartment that guy shady paint, taken cash that guy is a crook.
All these people saying that both parties are at fault clearly didn't watch the video.
A good landlord takes care of his property if he wouldn't live there he knows it needs repairs.
950 bucks a mth for rent
This stuff/maintenance issues are years old
Between city code and tenants
There should be lawyers willing to take on cases without any fees up front
The lanlord clearly has been making money and not fixing stuff
Sad
This landlord is the problem. He’s cheap, only want to collect rent but not repairing his properties..greedy human.
The tenants are lazy crybabies.
If I would’ve feel through anything in my apartment I would’ve sued him he wouldn’t be getting another rent payment ever again from anybody.
Ban slumlords from owning rental properties. No different that people not being allowed to own certain businesses.
Southern California here: Jeebus Chroist! If this landlord is "legally" allowed to earn money off the backs of the oppressed, sheeeeeiiiit----, than I guess Las Vegas is the wild, wild west. Anything goes over there... In my opinion, the landlord's actions directly reflect on what type of community (zoning) that the city -and more unfortunately, some people are willing to settle for.
Nevada needs to be CALIFORNICATED so shit like this doesn’t happen.. this is exactly the reason to Californicate the rest of the country because California knows what’s best for the people
The landlord need to sued , falling through the floor? Still making money off these poor people .
They can always leave if they don’t like it, I wouldn’t stay there.
What's crazy is a lot of the slumlords will eventually receive taxpayer funded rental arrears payments that the tenants applied for in the pandemic. Many of these slumlords own several different properties and live out of town. They don't even report all their yearly rental income if any at all to the IRS. They cheat the tenant and the government.
with conditions such as this (unbelievable, inhabitable place) & lack of repairs the law allows tenants to stop paying rent and use the money to fix these problems if they want to live there
Are you a Nevada attorney?
He making ppl live like they do in his country . He sees nothing wrong with it
They do the same thing when they run restaurants out here. The health department doesn’t seem to hold them accountable just as the city does not hold the landlords accountable often enough. I don’t think foreigner should even be able to own land and businesses in America. That’s just my opinion though..
no body is making them live there. F out with your privileged ass
It should be illegal to own a home that you don't live in while so many are homeless or can't afford to own a home.
If anything this pandemic moratorium has done, it will force some of the slumlords out of the business.
Poverty, affordability, homelessness, drug addiction, mental illness.... those are GOVERNMENT problems to solve, not property owners. The government is evil and incompetent, and you are ignorant. Both are horrific for society
I've dealt with many slumlords but your best bet is to always pay your rent and on time.
