His empathy is totally outstanding. How he feels that a co-singer's effort not truly applauded. then he stops program to explain and get the appreciation. Far away from people like us who spot talent not from talent but from names! he is a great man.
That ability to feel what others are feeling is what also made his such a great singer. We are reacting to his singing only because he is able to feel OUR emotion. Then he sings and teach us how to feel in various situations from love, anger, sadness, humor, mischief etc by mirroring his feeling.
Great man. Without composers like Raja, great lyrics willnot be felt in heart, without singers like SPB, great tunes will not be expressed in full emotion. Thanks for sharing this rare treasure Gopal sir/team.

Just cannot accept that this gentleman is not with us. A large hearted man who goes the extra mile to recognise the other singer's effort. One should be so humble to go all out praising the music director and other singers. Anytime I see him on any of the videos, tears roll down and it pains. So impactful has been this genius in my life, of course all our lives.

But Raja sir never appreciated SPB sir and his supportive. I don’t know. Why?
Maestro ILAYARAJA gave SPB 1200+ songs across 5 languages, as a SINGLE composer! That itself is a HUGE appreciation / applause / award / recognition that ANY composer can EVER do for a singer! Like SPB's cousin said quoting SPB, "Though I have sung for many music directors, all my name, popularity, money, career etc. is because of Ilayaraja's alms ('pichai')".
IR does NOT talk diplomatically like SPB who also has the gift of the gab. SPB and MANY other singers were like fresh clay in master potter's hands of IR. IR molded them, groomed, nurtured them, gave them HUNDREDS and thousands of songs in 101 dimensions in various GENRES. They were all catapulted into superstar, diva statuses because of HIS MUSIC. So, DO NOT whine without knowing the facts and REALITY.
